There probably is more important things to complain about, right? Most people didn't contribute (or pay) anything for TDB so what are they entitled to? So we could just keep calm and go doing some urgent housework.

Yes, but this is how delusion is best prevented: as long as there is still bitching, moaning and complaining, there is work to do- no lie, just receiving a buttkick. This doesn't happen with spiritual workshops, higher states of consciousness etc.: love cream and lies, lies, lies. They are all good, but after them, how is the chop wood, carry water going?

Taoist Cultivation methods to transform karma
Bubbles replied to DSCB57's topic in Daoist Discussion
Key word practice and if you don't have access to a genuine taoist practice so far, you can still have a genuine access to your life and work/practice from it, it may not sound sexy but, it is real. It is the next best thing- if Taoism is the best. -
Hi thursday, I am no expert of anything related to what you are going through, but I think the line I quoted above is the only one you should remember. Take care

Mr Marblehead, you really have your ways with ladies!

Attainment of full enlightenment through Cultivation
Bubbles replied to DSCB57's topic in General Discussion
Yes, it's very much like the Walmart of spirituality here, you will always find something that suits a need you didn't think you had. Happy shopping! edit to add 'find' -
This is also most true of what is before enlightenment, if such a thing exists.

There must be a misunderstanding: you seem to talk about Mr K, not about the TTC author. There is a world of difference between them. Mr K. had several luxury cars, wearing silk shirts and cashmere pull overs, and he left a lot of brainless disciples (he who kept saying he had no disciples) who parrots his books and are ready to bark through the fence whenever someone talks about a path, a teacher, a practice The TTC author is unkown, letf nothing personal and disappeared without claiming it. A lot of Taoists have teachers, follow paths and have practices, don't broadcast themselves, and don't make a living with the pathless path. Who really knows here anyway what is the void? These are TDB: lots of talks.

Finishing the walk? I very much doubt that. People who believe they have done this are really lost in their arrogance- despite all the *false humility* they display.

Hypothetical scenario that makes you question God
Bubbles replied to Goldleaf's topic in General Discussion
There is God, but there are also natural laws and causes and consequences. If your health/life isn't as good as you want to, have an objective look at the causes and correct them; understand natural laws and follow them. I won't talk about my experience with God's ways in day-to-day life but I can testify that if you work on causes, desirable effects will follow. Now, I may add that the idea found in various religions that ethics have a role into health is not superstition. Coming to practical things: -as it has already been said: go back to see your MD, and have everything checked related to your symptoms. -if you have an illness, do what you can to cure and heal yourself with all the exterior help needed and follow also the following point as there is no real healing without it. -if you have nothing, this is the important part : turn completely off the mental chattering about how bad your health is. Move on with your life, stand straight in your life by being active, accountable, self-reliable, aiming at good and if God means something to you, try to honor God by taking care of your life, life of others, the temple that is your body and your spirit. -
I'll go out for dinner with the girl-not so clean feet included- and leave you with the mo pai guys, guys.

Alas, normalizing such people is an inevitable consequence of relativism and total freedom of speech. When truth and morals become subjective positions, everyone can believe a thought is true only because one has it. What is taught as critical thinking becomes the study of argumentation and semantics because when truth is diluted into subjectivism and ideology this is the only make-up left for the collapse of human thinking abilities. With subjectivism, people's brain is hi-jacked. And this is a dead-end because ignoramus people who think they are right are completely locked up into their belief system. Not good news, but who would listen? People choose instead to frantically browse youtube and the like to *teach* themselves and others. Face palm. Edited for grammar and syntax and to add the two last sentences.

There is this book. I don't have it so I can't tell how precise is the description of the health exercises created by Wang Ziping. The book contains different sections about Muslim Kung-fu. One of them presents Wang Ziping health set. It can also be bought on plumpub website (scroll down until you find the book) :here Best

Go ahead, but make sure only the derailed part goes to the Pit. This was an interesting discussion at some point.

No, it's not a sad story to me! I took this as a bell ring: spirituality has to be down-to-earth otherwise it is a big lie. If, as a so-called enlightened man, I am upset because I am in the traffic jam and I think I will miss my train. If I am so high in my meditations that I can't fill in my tax declaration (in my country it is a very simple thing to do) so my devout disciples have to do this for me and pay my taxes at he same time (why not, right?) If I embezzle some money in order to open my meditation center; if, as a man, I choose special women among my disciples in order to give them blessings from the inside (no need to be graphic here, right?); Then my enlightenment is a lie. These are real examples from real life. I don't call that crazy wisdom, or awakening-is-just-that-as-it-is-there-is-no-one-to-be-enlightened-only-that-as-it-is-no-need-to-change-what-is. I call that a lie. Clever and astute people can read spiritual books (especially true with neo-advaita, because there is no tradition, so no need to be accountable in any way), digest them, train a little their speech skills on various internet forums (ahem, ahem..) before giving satsangs, with in-person and online blessings for a monthly fee. Sure, it doesn't have to be as ugly as I describe it. I don't throw out the baby with the bathwater, but it is so easy to fool ourselves and others on that matter. So I hear you, you're not an asshole. _/\_

Or there will be always people looking for controversy about ordinary topics.

Hi Aeran, It seems to me that you have already asked a similar question some time ago (perhaps it was someone else), and as I don't remember clearly what was said, I'll suggest what worked for me: stop any dairy product of any kind and limit refined sugar/products. It happens that I am vegan too, but I think removing dairy products might work as a stand alone measure if your nasal congestion is not resulting from some specific condition. Be well,

Rebirth cycles are much shorter on internet forums, so chances are Foundit returns in one form or another. Although there is something to muse about in this fast membership experience: how Ultimate Understanding can rebirth? Mmmm...

Epictetus: Never call yourself a philosopher, nor talk a great deal among the unlearned about theorems, but act conformably to them. Thus, at an entertainment, don't talk how persons ought to eat, but eat as you ought. For remember that in this manner Socrates also universally avoided all ostentation. And when persons came to him and desired to be recommended by him to philosophers, he took and recommended them, so well did he bear being overlooked. So that if ever any talk should happen among the unlearned concerning philosophic theorems, be you, for the most part, silent. For there is great danger in immediately throwing out what you have not digested. And, if anyone tells you that you know nothing, and you are not nettled at it, then you may be sure that you have begun your business. For sheep don't throw up the grass to show the shepherds how much they have eaten; but, inwardly digesting their food, they outwardly produce wool and milk. Thus, therefore, do you likewise not show theorems to the unlearned, but the actions produced by them after they have been digested.

Yes, walk your talk or shut up. This doesn't seem very spiritual. I am convinced it is. Thank you for being a representative of life. I went to some workshops with Jean Klein direct disciples, went to zazen sesshin with reputable people, etc. Have read hundreds of books with all the same words and ideas again and again. There was a time when I could parrot all these things and believe I was a spiritual man. Some of these people went to my home. I have seen that they were as ungrounded as people can be. They didn't live by their words. I am not enlightened a bit. I only know that until spirituality is into your very bones, blood, behavior, gestures, actions it means nothing at all. Hence: walk your talk or shut up. I have nothing real to say about enlightenment: I am a jerk, I am bossy, I am selfish, proud etc. That's what I see in the mirror, that's what people see when I post and I would never pretend I am not. The so-called spiritual experiences I had didn't change a bit what I am. Until the subjective is not found into the objective and reciprocally, there is nothing to talk about, seen from my side of the world. End of the story.

I think so. I have thought about this a lot, and I didn't find any solution. I hope someone will.
