The first use ( chronologically) of the verb existere was to coming out from a place ( a house, a hiding place for eg), so the meaning is to manifest. It is still the meaning in use during the XVII century: Descartes would wrote talking about himself being in the world as if he was in a theatre : "in quo hactemus spectator existiti" which means 'I have appeared so far only as a spectator' In Medevial philosophy, existere was used to say ex aliquo sistere which means being/coming from something else. The emphasis went on the filiation of a being which contradicts the idea of "standing alone".
-
Yes, but there is a difference between 'stand alone' and 'stand out'. If 'stand alone' means existing by oneself, then it is not in the meaning of exsistere. This is in my Latin dictionary My link, the equivalent of the Oxford Latin dictionary in my native language- 1766 pages. I am sorry, I won't quote the dictionay, it has several columns for existere ,and standing alone can't be found in it. Finding 'standing alone' in it is more than an interpretation. Even in Western metaphysics, we won't find such an interpretation of this verb. Actually, you don't have to believe me, just check it out at your local library...

'Stand alone' is definitely NOT in the meaning of the Latin verb 'sto, stare' neither in the Latin verb 'exsisto, exsistere'. Leave Latin language out of this ego battle.

Hello Sifu Terry, This is most obvious for someone who is following this thread from the beginning. Best regards, Bubbles

Hi Sifu Garry, I understand your point. Whoever Sillum may be (Rizzo or not), my exchange with him in the pit has revealed that he really believes to be sage. What can I save from what he says after that? Nothing, but this is just me. I trust Sifu Terry and you.Sifu Terry's answer to Sillum is crystal clear. This is where I choose to stand, and this is enough for me. Best, bubbles

Hi all, If you want to know more about Sillum, read the end of the thread in the pit from THIS POST to the end. Sillum claims to be a sage.. Best bubbles

Hi, I haven't come much lately. But I can see that ChiDragon is striking again. I have been studying Xuang Kong Fei xing, and Da Gua for a number of years. My goodness!... it take a lot more than a Black Hat sect book to understand what FS is all about. ChiDragon, I don't doubt about your sincerity, but at some point and most of the time, your path turns out into blindness about what is real knowledge in those matters and what is not. I won't be back soon so don't bother responding. bubbles

Hi hagar, I have noticed effects of solar eruptions of my heart.I wasn't aware that some studies have been done about it.

Ok, thanks for trying to answer. You have listed some Immortals responding to Sinfest. You know, these immortals had quite different teachings and created different lineages. For some, celibacy was required, for others, sex was not a problem. For some visualizations while meditating were not good practices, for others it could be good. You, Lao Tzu, can't say that you know that this or that is bad practice when it comes to Taoism because you can find almost everything in Taoism, taught by Immortals, included practices that you find bad. Do you know more than some Immortals? If you can see and admit that your preference is just YOUR preference, YOUR personal way of practicing Taoism and not a general truth about Taoism, then there is no trolling, no problem with your presence here. If on the contrary, you keep on saying that others are wrong because they don't practice as YOU do, then there is a problem because some people here, me or another one, will find a classic text of Taoism that will contradict your saying. And you will have nothing to respond. You will say like above "To prove is difficult, because how can you imagine I can prove it? It is all about oneself's thinking and experiences." So you have to see that you don't hold the truth about Taoism. Taoism includes different people, with different experiences and different practices. This is what the lives of Immortals tell us. As you can see we are now at post n° #145 for nothing constructive. I will stop my contribution to this thread here. I sincerely hope you will find a way of being here at Tao bums without claiming that people here are misleaded because they don't have the same views as you. Taoism is about tolerance towards the ten thousands things. Not everyone here identifies himself/herself as a follower of the Dao, please let them in peace. Don't insult them. Some people here are Taoists following the Way within a diffrent Taoist tradition from yours. Please let them in peace, don't insult them with your Fake master/fake practice obsession. Follow your way, and let people follow theirs. Be well, Lao Tzu

I am happy for you lifeforce, I remember you having a strong spiritual experience after reading the secret of the Golden Flower a year ago or more. Obviously you are receiving a lot from all the previous work you have done, and you are thanked by God to be faithful to your desire for the Infinite.

There are numerous points where you did not give your grounds.I will only take the two last important I have in mind. 1.You wrote : "I mean focus you mind on some point of your body, or imagine something. That is not a good way for the Way." Where did you find this idea? How can you prove that others traditions WITHIN Taoism (like the Mao-shan, see post#123 of this thread) are wrong ? 2.You wrote: "In Taoism, desire should fade away, sex is kind of desire." This a only current within Taoism. Don't you know that? Have you seen the references at the end of the book I mentioned in post #103? Where did you see that sex is a kind of desire? Don't you know that one can have sex without desire?

Will you consider taking into account the answers we give to your questions before asking new ones or will you continue avoiding to face the plain truth of your ignorance? Why are you the only one here who does not give the grounds of his affirmations while asking others to do it?
-
This is because you don't know the meanings of the trigrams, and probably you have to study more Yijing. There are different layers of meaning in alchemical texts. To fully understand, you have to work on the text, on yourself, and preferably with a legit teacher, all three requirements that you still have to meet.
-
You should study more history of your own country and the specific meditation techniques Ancient Chinese used, like in the Maoshan Taoist tradition.HERE In the meantime, you should stop posting fallacies for a while, because you are becoming ridiculous. This hurts me to see how difficult it must be for you to be so ignorant while claiming to know it better than everyone else. You are loosing face. Please retire before it is too late.

Yes Daoists texts are objective facts. Actually there are several texts dealing with sexuality in the Canon. You can find some titles of them in the bibliography section (at the end of the book) of THIS BOOK. The texts found in the Canon are mentioned with TT for Tao tsang. The one I had in mind is an alchemical text: Longhu jing 龍虎經 I assume you identify yourself as a Daoist. So you should consider these scriptures (經) as sacred. I suggest you broaden the idea you have about Dao. Dao can't fit into an idea. Your idea about Dao limits your understanding and makes you arrogant, which is not a Daoist virtue. Since you are in China, I also suggest you find a real Daoist teacher. Goodbye

You can find discussions about dragons on Healing Tao USA forum. I can't find the threads now but if you have patience you can dig.

This is the #74 : Well, writing: " In taoism, one should ignore one's sexuality, not with an intention to enhance it" is not giving grounds. You are just voicing a personal, subjective view. You would give grounds if some objective facts were presented. Problem is you are presenting your opinions as objective facts. There are taoists texts that deal with sexuality with the intention of enhancing it so that it can nuture spirituality. For example, in the T'ai-hsüan section of the Daoist canon. The text was published during Ming Dynasty. This fact plainly contradicts what you are saying. If you mix opinions with facts, if you are just insinuating and avoid being specific, you will be called a troll with good reason. Edited for clarity
-
Can you direct me to the grounds you have given? I may have missed them.
-
Then just shut up until you're brave enough because what you are showing us so far is more about how much you are NOT equal to the task of being the light-bearer of this community. All you got so far is being called a troll. I know you don't care, but you should see that you are failing at your mission. You have not much credibility and the more you insist in the same style, content of posts; the less credibility you will have. You are shooting yourself in the foot.
-
What are you afraid of behind a screen name and a computer? Are you just brave enough to post vague accusations but not brave enough to mention names and give specific proofs of your claims? Or is it that your claims are not founded enough?
-
You are just avoiding to answer the request.
