  1. Spiritual Bypassing

Thank you for bringing up this topic. Most of the traditional paths are aimed at people who have their psychological needs fulfilled. This should be done when one lives in a well structured society where some kind of Dharma is respected so that babies, child are raised up in such a way that they really feel they are loved (I am not talking about emotional feelings of attachments that adults project on them),and that they can see that rules are the expressions of ontological laws. When we look at the yoga paths (hindu, buddhist, christian) we can see that preliminaries are often set up before one is admitted into the deeper practices. Morality is required because only someone who has his fundamental needs satisfied can really be moral. This is a safeguard to avoid people with imbalances aggravating them more by undertaking practices that requires a strong grounding. Earth is the balancing element. In our degenerated and decomposing societies where Love and Dharma as a collective law is ignored, we are making babies and raising children who will very soon become hungry ghosts because we can't satisfy their needs since we are ourselves hungry ghosts. Our children will be bound to steal (physically, psychically) what they think they need, they will kill ( really or by not respecting others) when they think someone represent an obstacle to satisfy their need. They will speak ill or lie when they will feel threatened by someone or a situation from which they think they should be protected. They will abuse people because they think they will find more completeness by changing partners. I feel that traditional paths have their consistency and their logic. New agers or neo advantins heavily disdain the traditional ways and their morals. But what you have posted Ulises is so true -at least to me. We can't jump from abnormal (our petty and selfish way) to supranormal (The Way). We have to first go back to normal (becoming a reliable human being). Before real spiritual work, there is psychological work otherwise, spirituality will only be a mean to avoid our real and massive shortcomings and to miss the opportunity to meet our earthy lives. When one has followed all the required and logic stages, reaching the Heavens does integrate well with our earthy lives. In this regard I like the wisdom of the ten how-herding pictures. My two cents don't worth a lot, but they are the real money of my mind. No one is forced to take them.
  2. Take good care of yourself Aaron , and please come back here ASAP to let us know how you are doing.

Hmm I don't think it is a good thing to offer a download link of a copyrighted book. The book is good enough to be ordered so that authors receive their royalties (I am not even talking about karmic debt )

  6. Depression Kills, Qigong Saves

Reading attentively the topic's title you should have noticed that there is a reference to a specific school/lineage : Shaolin Wahnam.(google it if necessary) The GM of this school teaches a vast range of practices including a specific practice called "Flowing Breeze, Swaying Willows" which is sometimes described as "induced chi flow". This a spontaneous chi kung but it is initiated by some specific acts (Needless to say you don't know them) If you don't know the school "Shaolin Wahnam" and the way this spontaneous chi kung is initiated inside this school ( which may differ from another one), and if you don't pay attention to the nature and content of the topic, then Why do you post into the topic and write things like: AND ???? If you don't know what people are talking about: 1. refrain from posting OR 2. post to ask for information before acting like a troll. Please respect the initial post (Hundun's one). Thanks
  7. Depression Kills, Qigong Saves

Hehehe... I really doubt you know what it is about.Otherwise you wouldn't say it is not a special technique. Just guessing it by its Chinese name is insufficient. And I would add: if you ever practice it ( or if you ever practice what you post about) you wouldn't post like you do.
  8. Depression Kills, Qigong Saves

    Yes Friend, I know that.
  9. Depression Kills, Qigong Saves

@CHIDragon: Under this name there is a technique that GM Wong Kiew Kit and his disciples teach. Unless you have attended a course or seminar with one of them or at least read one of GM Wong Kiew Kit's books, you won't know or have an idea of what is the technique. To avoid any meaningless and endless nasty debate, just answer this simple question by a YES or NO so that everyone will know what to do with your post: Do you know the technique exactly as it is taught in Shaolin Wahnam lineage? Thanks

  12. New book Wuji Qi Gong

I have it for some time but did not try the practices described. What I read inside was not enough to make me quit/change my zhan zhuang practice but it may be prejudice. I'll have another look into it. Thanks for the reminder. Did you actually try the practices? Edit: I have just looked again into the book. Up to page 53 (the book has 102 pages) is a theoretical presentation of the conceptual framework of the practice (xiantian, houtian, the process of alchemy etc..). Second part is the description of the practice which has 5 steps. Each step has some specific mental concentrations or guiding qi prescriptions or subtle physical "gesture" while standing. I recall now I had the impression that I had them all already in my wuji standing practice, and that following the book did not add anything special but it's just me. I am looking forward hearing others about it.
  13. wishing to hear advice and wisdom

Hello alect, Keep up the good work! Besides what others have told you, my two cents are that doing some zhan zhuang (Lam kam chuen book _the way of energy- and there are some vids on you tube also under the name stand still be fit) can dramatically help you to soothe the emotions. I am talking from experience Take care
  14. Sex and Karma

I am no authority on the subject, I have no academical knowledge nor channeled knowlegde about it . I am just bubbling so take it for what it's worth. I have no doubt that some very inspired and spiritual bums will chime in and fill you with all the rationale behind the phenomenon. My very earthy and personal experience is that each time I meet randomly one of the goddess I slept with (even if it was a one time shot years ago), we (me and she) have a special feeling and a inner world blossoming in our eyes while we are talking. It is not a desire thing (I never slept again with them after we separated) nor it is ( as far as I can see) an affective thing: it may be the experiential sign that we have created a bond.If I can sense it now, why not extending the bond to an indefinite period of time (if time is still experienced in the afterlife)? edited to add this: for me basically this is karma. Buddhists, Daoists and even Christians say that we take it with us whenever we go. So..
  15. Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon changing classic)

Yes! they are inter related and IMHO are the compulsory keys to a real practice of qigong.
  16. Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon changing classic)

It would be wise to stick to what your teacher says. With all the qigong you have listed, you have a pretty decent program. My two cents would be that you should insist HEAVILY on the five regulations explained in details by Dr Yang in _the Root of chinese qigong_. They will open you to layers and layers of profundity in your pratice and you may discover that there are several ways of doing Eight pieces of brocade according to your level of relaxation,etc..and that these simple exercises may bring surprisingly very profound effects. Happy training!
  17. Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon changing classic)

looks like you are in good hands with your teacher,I am happy for you: study hard, ponder, and train consistently!
  18. Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon changing classic)

Thing is,if it ever existed, the original version is lost. All yi jin jing sets are recompositions from ancient documents. Shaolin monastery has been destroyed, monks almost killed and skills and knowledge have been disseminated. Sifu Yan lei is a modern monk, which doesn't mean that his teachings are not good but he teaches what he learned at the new Shaolin monastery. Dr Yang probably knows far better than me the history of Shaolin and worked on ancient documents because he preferred to rely on ancient texts and on the background he had and perhaps found no one who could answer all his questions (you'll have to check that with your teacher ). You don't have to find THE REAL yi jin jing, you have to find the one that delivers what you expect, and since you are a student in Dr Yang lineage, you'll have to follow the Martial morality rules. How lucky you are! Some people found Dr Yang standing version (as presented in _chi kung for health and martial arts_ book- one of the first and most simple) quite effective. So..
  19. Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon changing classic)

Ok I understand, so which one of the dvd did you work with ? the n°2 ( Xi sui jing) or the n°3 (Ee Jin Xi Sui Gong)? Sorry to insist ( no fight, just to avoid confusion among readers) none of the 3 DVD are about the Yin Jin Jing. The n° 3 is : Ee Jin Xi Sui Gong (Muscle/Tendon Bone Marrow Cleansing) which is a kind of mix.
  20. Elixir Qigong

Hi RyanO, His main lineage is Chen Fake via Feng Zhiqiang as he is an indoor disciple of Master Zhang Xue Xin. This is a heavyweight category! I would definitely go and see him. When you go there have an open mind AND trust your gut feeling.
  21. Have you found the Heart-Center?

Hello my friend, This is a huge topic, with huge questions and I can't answer them properly because I am just another useless barking bum. Just a few words though. What I know is that bodywork, mental work are, in my humble tiny tiny tiny experience (IMHTTE) necessary but insufficient ways for love to blossom. They all end where/when the heart-way begins. When the Heart has awaken, it takes the commandment of the two others that would otherwise lead to pride and prejudice . Mental powers are limited, body powers are limited but I was told that the magnitude of the heart has no limit. This is now the story I am sticking to.
  22. Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon changing classic)

Hi anamatva, I am surprised that you found some videos of Shifu Yan lei on tube showing the yi yin ying...because he doesn't really teach this set on his vids, he teaches a mix of sets. Can you give us the links to the you tube vids that gave you your morning extra energy? I am curious.
