Ok,I understand what you are talking about. I think we should distinguish a descriptive use of yin-yang as a way of explaining how things unfold and a prescriptive level where cultivation is involved. Articulate the two without being judgmental is tricky.
-
No, that was not the stake-at least in my mind.It was to point out that Chinese people in ancient times could see same gender relationships without finding them unnatural- from the low ranked people to the scholars or the Emperor. The most educated of them were well aware of yin-yang theory. Of course it was not. But here you are reversing the roles. No one here said that TTC or YJ said something positive about Homosexuality. I said that as far as I know there was no reason to be found in the TTC or the YJ to posit it was unnatural-This is quite a difference. If you say that an idea is in a text, the onus of proof is on you.
-
No obligation for you to do so. But being elliptic doesn't help the thread to be constructive. If you say you find support for your ideas in TTC, just show us. It is that simple. Please explain as I don't understand what you are talking about.
-
Instead of repeating that again and again in different wordings, can you please answer my first question ( about the definition of yin/yang you use precisely) ? and tell us exactly where you find in Daodejing the ideas you uphold?

Having a daily and sustained practice of any consistent system will adjust your sleeping needs to the optimum. I would just do that. Looking for short term results is looking for future imbalances.

Of course, each of us is the fake-someone in the eye of another. As long as religions are only ways to aggregate, identify, and manage fears, there will be scapegoats for the followers to convert their fears into hatred of another one, and this is endless. In this account, religions are part of mainstream socialization. But when it comes to the embodiment of the sacred/holy as the numinous; or to the attainment of the full potential of human spirit, it is as difficult as it is rare.

Hello, I can't be of much help here cos' I am not practicing any of M.Chia's techniques. But from what I've read here, you should first do the preliminary practices (and this is a minimum) - six healing sounds - Microcosmic orbit You should be very cautious with refraining yourself from ejaculating over long periods. Please have a look here: My link This website is running by a fellow bum who has experience and gathered some precious information.

The wording here can be misleading. Of course Human is part of nature. But he is the only species that has to recover his full naturalness so that he can be completely attuned to the Dao :there are levels in human realm from wacko to Saint. This is not done by abiding external norms/rules. This is all an immanent and internal work (cultivation) that allows one to unfold virtues. The butcher's behavior is different from the Emperor's. Nonetheless, they can both be Saints. edited for spelling

I would be very interested to see where one can find in Daodejing or Zhuangzi any reference to nature making "errors".To say the least this word here sounds very weird If you can have access to a good library, please find and read _ sexual life in ancient china_ by R. Van Gulik you will see that Chinese culture from people to emperors had some very tolerant views about homosexuality. I am leaving this discussion here. Thanks

Can you elaborate more on this? What specific definition are you working from?
-
Thanks for sharing. I agree.

I understand but I can't see- if I try to assume a Daoist way of understanding- any truth that does not ultimately to fact- be it an observation or an experience (including the most mystical). In this regard an "unwanted truth" is just some idea that comes out of intellectual blindness (denying facts or lack of experience). I am not gay. But I can see there are both in human and animal realms. This is it. Who am I to say that yin/yang does not apply to them?
-
I really agree you know, but if you think you know something valuable why not directly sharing it and offering it to the community? If we say that Daoists take nature as a model, it means that they can't superimpose on nature whatever they think nature is. Homosexuality can be found in nature. So what to think? That homosexuality can be found in nature. This is a fact. Now, of course to give birth, some yin and yang interactions are necessary. No argument here. It is just that "natural" should be used with caution, as every word. This is also found in Daodejing and Zhuangzi.
-
If you take the time to search you will find that same sex relationships can be found in nature. So I would not fool around about defining what is natural. I am not the supreme ruler of nature to know what natural should mean as a concept either in definition or extension. As for what is normal, it is known that normality is just a statistical based concept that reflects a majority and measures the distance from it. You already know as well that Zhuangzi had stated that before: we, as human, are really insigificant when it comes to rule the world with our biased views. My guess what right, you like to ask questions and have already your specific answers you want people to find. As long as there are bums here liking this kind of game this is fine with me. No to offend you ChiDragon, just stating the bubbles that come into my mind.
-
I guess you are just kidding right? you are just playing a sort of game with people here with your questions.. but I will give my answer and see if it confirms my guess. For example, have a look into Huangdi Neijing chap 3 and chap 4. It explains that yin and yang are the foundations of life and that the human body as a microcosm has yin and yang aspects. You can deduce yourself that it is a gross mistake to say that male are yang only and female yin only. Thus, people of same sex can have yin/yang interactions. But I really wonder why you ask: you know that already since you do that in Tui Shou.

Your friendly post is a total waste of time. Tulku lives in his own world of truths and he is abundantly sharing them here no matter we like it or not. -

I completely agree but not everyone (christians, muslims or whatever) is capable of turning one's outer religion into inner wisdom. Hence, the BS we hear when white fake Christians pour their hatred upon fake Muslims who do the same with Jews etc. This will have no end.

Sorry I didn't understood that it was a kind of trial.I didn't practice enough of Yang to really compare and get into those details. Thanks for the lesson.

You know, I have REALLY NO INTEREST AT ALL in turning this thread into a "my taijiquan is better than yours" battle. Firstly because there are enough of those stinky discussions here in TTB and I am really pissed off by them. Secondly because I can't honestly see the point of comparing the styles in order to say which one is better: this question has no meaning for me. Thirdly because taijiquan is like everything else, you practice the style you are in accord with: there is no such thing as one style for everyone. Fourthly, I am not as educated as many here to give an explanation about what is so unique about Chen style: I had seen demonstrations of a number of styles before I saw Chen style and had begun Yang and when I saw Chen Xiaowang Laojia, it was love at first sight.

What Chunyi Lin does applies to him and his system. Dennis Lewis comes from somewhere else (Healing Tao). Each teacher has his own views about when (if at all) doing RAB. First things first, you should be very at ease with NAB before doing RAB. And your training should be very progressive during sitting sessions. When doing qigong just follow the instructions of the style you have chosen, it's safer.

Not at all, I am just a Chen taijiquan fan.

What Encephalon is talking about here has nothing to do with M.Chia, YMAA or Xing Neigong. It is C.K. Chu 's teaching: www.chutaichi.com. edited: for those on the West coast: www.neikungla.com
