I am just sharing my personal experience with taking oregano essential oil when having flu.. People can take it for what it is worth.
-
If you don't try you'll never know. So go for it.
-
The fastest way I found to deal with flu is with oregano essential oil when the first symptoms show up. It is best to take it in softgels: like this. When the flu is already installed, it takes a little longer but it is still very helpful.

Well, if your time is squeezed, I would say it is all the more important to present your work in a clear and understandable manner. It will show that you have mastery over your subject matter if you can extract and present within a relatively short time the essentials of what took you hundreds of pages to develop and explain. If you are talking too fast, however brilliant your ideas may be, it will give an impression of confusion and haste. There is a balance to be found there. And it will also tremendously help for avoiding stepping out the stream of thoughts. Too fast and you will be ejected from your own mind. You have put the right words on it: everywhere is home and safe, just relax

It is part of my job to speak in public. First somehting that won't help you when you get older, it becomes easier and actually it can be quite enjoying. Why? Because you have been through most of the fears you had and saw that is nothing more than imaginary monsters and mostly beacuse when you know what you are talking about, nothing can really uproot you. So I am coming to my point: it is your research, it has been recognized by your supervisor as good work, so you are in the best position possible because no one but you did the work. The more difficult is to forget about the context: getting a grade. I advise you to speak clear and slow as if you were talking not to a jury but to students who are here to learn something from you. Focus on the content of your speech- that is on exposing your thinking. . Be open to any question, and if some seemingly offensive question arises, focus on the point made, not on the way it has been expressed. Show you can take in any point, reflect on it in live, and give an answer based on your work and your personal integrity. Take care.

Hello awaken, You should start a thread where you could share your understanding and experience of the right Way instead of disseminating your posts. It would be more convenient for you and for all the members who are interested in what you have to say. Cheers

No offense intended: I am not in the US, but we have the pretty much same disgusting clowns where I live who want to get elected in 2017. People should realize that if Mr X or Mrs Y gets elected it doesn't make such a big difference in the end, because the game is tricked from the beginning. Politics is only a smoke screen : people get polarized like they do in football games so they are trapped into some blinding thinking patterns that prevent them from taking their freedom back. I mean do you guys really think that Mr Trump will change anything? Come on.. Pedophilia is an horrible thing, but I haven't seen much people name and shame it before it was linked to some political agenda, namely Trump vs Hillary. As much as I want to people who commit such crimes to be put in jail, I hope pedophilia is not just a useful mean into some political fight: quickly used, soon forgotten. What I do know is that President X will disappear quickly from the scene but will it be the same with what is done to children? A few years ago, I posted here at TDB about the horror done to women in Congo with some details. My post was removed almost instantly by a mod ( the mod was cat - do you remember her ?) I wouldn't say she was thinking what I was posting about was an non-issue. Edited to add a sentence about Mr Trump. I am done in this thread.
-
I understand what you are saying and I 100% agree that what is done to children is truly horrifying. but really joeblast, I don't think you can say that mods are sympathizing with what the pedophiles have done. This is an anger triggered statement.
-
I should probably shut my mouth, but I have a doubt: Reading the rules, I understand that what is forbidden is, for example: pornographic and pedophilic content not talking about it as a subject post.Otherwise there could be an awful lot of threads that should be deleted. I didn't had the time to read joeblast's posts but I guess he wasn't putting pedophilic material online. edited to add "should" in the first sentence

Over the years I fancied quittting my job, changing completely to be more attuned to what I thought to be my spiritual goals etc. It turned out to be just rubbish. Each time, I was gently but clearly brought back to what I was doing in the first place. I then understood what my master was saying about real spiritual life: spiritual life is not doing spiritual things, it is doing things in a spiritual way. No matter what life is your life, either being a window cleaner or a car seller or a trader; having a family or not, etc. All has to be taken in not as a burden but as an honor and one should do whatever has to be done like dwai said: without hesitation and to the best of our abilities. And my master would have added *with love*. All that to say that, especially if one is young, be careful with fancying yourself with pursuing a 'spiritual career' like being a priest or a monk of some kind. Some are really called for that, but most aren't. It may just be an attempt to avoid the lot that awaits for each of us. Landing back on the ground may be tough.

It seems that zz teachers don't like what would be considered as forceful or invasive methods in cleaning up energetic channels. According to what I understood at least, they want the body to make adjustments by itself.

Hi Josama, (1) If you really think what you are writing, then walk your talk: You can stop masturbation now with any recovery program, book or whatever distracts you or help you delaying doing what you have to do to save your life. If your life is at stake, things get pretty simple, unless you are not 100% convinced it is. (2) You asked for a healer, giving the precision that you didn't want anything New Agey. Ok. So you are calling x times per day Amitabha Buddha... Are you Buddhist or are you just using Amitabha Buddha's name like a magic bullet without any Buddhist Faith or practice? In the latter case, you are just falling into the New Agey behavior. If you want to get out of your problem, if you feel your life is really at stake (is it or not?), if you feel some connexion with the Buddha, be consistent: -Follow the Buddhist Path -Find a Tibetan Buddhist teacher- expose your problem to him/her. -Go for refuge, take precepts. -Practice since your life depends on it. -Take completely charge of your life. Otherwise it is just empty talk. It has been months and months that you are living like this. Are you really caring about what threatens your life or are you just finding some more excuses to go on piling up bad karma and destroying your life? No healing can take place without you, and outside your own mind. edited for spelling

Not sure sure it is a source or even a proof: I read or saw something similar in a Yang Jing Ming's book/video- as an hypothesis.

TDB moderators are too kind. They shouldn’t even care to respond to any attacks. They don’t have to justify themselves and nourish some endless psychodramatic threads where whining people tell how badly they were treated. There is a specific thread where mods give account of who and why people are suspended ,banned etc. That is enough. People are very good are complaining about how mods do their job but no one would do better than them or accept to handle the daily crap that goes on behind the scene. I know I've been there. There are some very simple rules. Mods do the job as they see fit, with their personal strengths and flaws. Thank you guys. By registering here, we accept the rules and the way the TDB is ruled. If not, just don't come. Isn't that simple? This thread should goes into the Abyss promptly and whining people should just get a life. edited: bad -> badly

a call to arms for all people practicing Asian health arts
Bubbles replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in General Discussion
Although not completely about what this thread is about but still related to what Taomeow says, you can watch these short videos of an interview of a great martial artist : Adam Hsu. In the 3rd or 4th video, he talks about China having lost the meaning of what Kung Fu is really about. The interview has not been completed put on youtube yet there are 9 parts announced but only 4 are online. Another point is: there is indeed a lot of differences between a tradition based practice been watered-down and this tradition being transmitted beginning with the basics before anything else, because it is the way of safety and martial efficiency (that you can only know after you've practiced them for years). Basics that are true means you are learning something real so we can/should take our time before moving from simple calculus to set theory. -

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche speaks of his recent retreat
Bubbles replied to C T's topic in Buddhist Discussion
I understand what you are talking about. But to me this is just a useless quarrel: I can't see in any of Longchenpa texts I read that Mahayana has to be rejected nor it to be a deviation. Integration of all three yanas into the Great Perfection is one thing. Rejecting all of them is another one. Thank you for taking the time to explain what you had in mind. -

Dzogchen doesn't seem to reject much Mahayana: Found in Mind in Comfort and ease: The vison of Enlightenment in the Great Perfection by Longchen Rabjam The Preliminary practices The general and specific Preliminaries Reflection on impermanence and feeling disenchanted are the general preliminaries That radically counteract our attachment to the things of this life And compassion and bodhichitta are the specific preliminaries That transform all spiritual practice into the path of Mahayana Train therefore at the outset on both these preliminaries The special, Supreme Preliminaries Afterwards, there are the special, supreme preliminary practices. Having received all the empowerments, there are two aspects to the generation stage: [1] Imagining your own body as the deity and the surrounding environment and sentient beings also as the deity Counteracts attachment to our ordinary perception. [2] By practicing the profound path of guru yoga, Blessings beyond measure arise through the force of realization, All obstacles are dispelled and the two types of siddhi are achieved. Therefore, after the general and specific preliminaries, practice the two supreme preliminaries. Boundless qualities arise as a result of these four preliminaries: Your mind enters the unerring path, Your reach the supreme path of liberation, Realization of the natural condition swiftly arises, It becomes easy to train in the main practices, with no obstacles, Accomplishments are readily achieved, and so on. Therefore it is crucial to train in these preliminaries. […] Later in the text, we find: The realization […] Naturally arising wisdom, inspiring by the blessing of the lama, Is seen when you have transcended verbal expression and conceptual ideas. What is seen in this way, at that time, Is beyond the three times, beyond outer and inner, and beyond any division and exclusion. It is the transcendent perfection of wisdom (Prajnaparamita) and the Middle Way, It is the pacification of conceptual elaborations and suffering, Mahamudra, The essential nature of phenomena, the Great Perfection, Primordial cessation in which all dharmas are exhausted, the fundamental nature of things, And the clear light nature of mind, naturally arisen wisdom. Although they are given different names, in essence they are one. […] -

Perhaps we should not hasten to draw conclusion that Dzogchen rejects Mahayana. The following quote is taken from : The practice of Dzogchen : Longchen Rabjam's writings on the Great Perfection pp 178-180 The emphasis in bold are mine. *********************** The following are some of the series of six constituents given by Longchen Rabjam in Mengag Dzod (MD) to summarize and illustrate various ethical, philosophical, religious, and meditational points of Dharma. The important factors for entering the Dharma: MD 1b/4 The six important things for entering the Dharma are Observing discipline, the basis of the path, Studying various subjects without falling into bias, Pacifying the three doors and one's own mind, Refraining from unvirtuous deeds, and developing virtuous deeds, Having shame, embarassment and developing faith, And having a virtuous master and virtuous friends. These are very important for beginners. The characteristics of solitude: MD 2a14 The six important factors for living in solitude are A solitary place with (virtuous) signs, Which past adepts have touched with their feet, Where the vow-holders assemble because it is unpolluted by defilements, Where there are no distractions and entertainments, Where the provisions of living are easy to obtain, And where there is no danger from either human or non-human beings. Longchen Rabjam stresses that the condensing of all the different yanas into one is the means of reaching Buddhahood, and he rejects the view that they are contradictory bodies of teachings. He concludes Semnyid Ngalso with the following words: SN 55b/4 Now, ordinary people whose minds' eyes are not pure, Take the different paths of the continuum (tantra) and of perfection (paramita) To be contradictory. They are unaware of the way to unite them as one. Therefore, they have the eyes of partiality. Here (in this text), the supremely profound meanings of (all) the yanas, of causation and result, (I) have condensed as one, as the means of training. This was written in the fortress of Ogyen at White-topped Snow Mountain By the raising of Immaculate Rays (i.e., Longchen Rabjam). According to Longchen Rabjam's view, all the virtues of the nine yanas are condensed in the awareness, the enlightened mind (Byang-Chub Sems) of Dzogpa Chenpo: CD 10a/5 The scriptures of the 'Sravakas, Pratyeka-buddhas, and Bodhisattvas Agree in (the view of) determining non-existence of ''self (of person)" and "self of (phenomena)" And in the freedom from conceptualizations, like space. In the scriptures of the supremely secret and great yoga of Ati, In the space-like freedom from distinctions of self and others, The self-arisen primordial wisdom, one remains. So all the meaning (of the previous yanas) is condensed in this supreme essence (awareness). The classes of (outer tantras), Kriya, Upa (yoga) and Upa (tantra), Agree that by the means of offering-clouds of self, deity, and contemplations One attains the accomplishment of the purification of the three doors. In the secret vajra-summit, the king of the teachings, One actualizes the perceptions, sounds, and thoughts as the deities from the primordial state And accomplishes the purification of the three doors. So the realization of those (three yanas) is completed in this supreme essence (awareness). The three (inner tantras), Maha, Anu, and Ati agree: The world and beings, phenomenal existents, are the male and female deities and their pure lands, The ultimate sphere and primordial wisdom are perfect in union, And the ultimate nature is changeless and self-arisen primordial wisdom. In this most supreme secret (awareness), since all are (primordially) perfected, And, except for (the appearances of) uncreated mansions in the pure land of blissful primordial expanse, Which has no outer or inner dimensions, are omnipresent, There are no characteristic phenomena of efforts, acceptances, or rejections. All are liberated in the infinite expanse of Dharmakaya. So all the realizations of the (nine yanas) are completed in this great secret essence (awareness). ************************************ -

Hi CrunchyChocolate555, Sorry to hear about your money problems. I am not really good at counselling people about work strategies. One little thing I can say however is that the obstacles you are encountering may also have to do with the Feng Shui of your home. It might be good to have this checked. I am very busy now and for the weeks to come. But, even it is not the best way to proceed, I can have a look at it if you send me the floorplan of your home (at scale) and some others details through PM. Take care

Hello Sifu Terry, As you may recall, I live in Europe. At some point in the thread, something like 2 years ago, there was a talk of organizing a Flying Phoenix Chi Kung workshop in the UK, but it failed. It looks like someone is teaching Flying Phoenix Chi Kung in the Netherlands. Here is the website link. Is it someone you know and have authorized to teach the Flying Phoenix Chi Kung system? Many thanks Sincerely
