I will play devils advocate, when you state : " Your genes don't have an individuality , they're just coding." I suggest the gene combination or coding I express is unique to me. The sum is greater than its parts. My Y coding in common with my father and brother(s) of the same parents is a part a tiny part of my genetic makeup. My fathers genetic makeup may have undergone minor or major mutations in the time period between my and my brother(s) respective conceptions. And I expect increasingly we are all becoming some kind of mutant. As our genes are increasingly exposed to chemicals, radiation, etc. they are going to mutate. Which leads to the old Nature versus Nurture debate. Did my mother eat a wide variety of foods while I was in gestation? Did hers? and her ancestors farther back? It may or may not have an influence on my eating habits later in life. Science suggests our diet it has a variety of important influences I knew of a squirrel who couldn't build a nest. Oh (s)he tried and tried but time after time (s)he failed. Was this due to poor eyesight, and if so was that trait inherited ? Or a result of a vitamin deficiency? Luckily (s)he found a partner whom had some skills in that area and I can report they seemed to live out their life peacefully thereafter... as best I could determine... now the skunk under the porch is well shall we say a horse of another color. Pardon me if that's not PC, but if befits the rabbit whole.

That must be ( or been in the past ) a heck of a time piece. Are electronics simplifying or complicating our lives? Am I up a creek when the battery dies?

Liminal-Luke the language of love ( like the language of dogs ), is universal to recognize, see, or if blind feel. It is hard wired. And would you please at least consider respecting the gay chimpanzees. You don't have to love them but please don't single them out, lol, thanks!

Is not time an artificial construct ?

Does anybody really know what time it is?

Once one is married, one must be very careful flirting, imho.

Fair is fair. I had two scales for weighing produce. Oddly enough not requirement for either commercial or retail sales. Commercial or wholesale one used the industry standard packaging (for example a 20 lb. box that stated: Tomatoes 20 pounds. ) So for a commercial sales you just filled the box (overtime it would average 20 lbs). However if you used a scale in a retail setting it was subject to a required inspections. My mechanical scale was adjustable a screw set the tension so when tray was empty = 0. After a dozen years or so my much more expensive electronic scale read in error. And even though the error was in the buyers favor it was not allowed. Yup, the buyer could be getting anywhere from a small to a large price break should that scale be allowed in commerce. Of course it wasn't. Fair is fair unless its not applied across the board. Earlier Marblehead wrote: "Won't be long before they will be integrating the YMCA and YWCA" From the YMCA web site: "In 1853 in Washington, D.C. the YMCA for African Americans was founded by Anthony Bowen, a freed slave." "In San Francisco, YMCAs serving Asians were established in 1875 to serve the large Chinese population there, and a Japanese YMCA was founded in 1917." "In 1910 , 25 African American YMCAs were built in 23 cities ...." Separate but equal facilities? I suppose depending upon local laws at the time. According to Wikipedia women first began coming to YMCA facilities in the 1970;s And the YMCA appointed Violet King Henry to Executive Director of the National Council of YMCA's Organization Development Group, making her the first women to a senior management position with the American YMCA in 1976. From the YWCA website : "As one of the oldest and largest womens organization in the nation ..." No statement of male inclusion? Leading me to think what is good for the goose isn't good for the gander. Feel up to making history Marblehead? LOL

Of course we all want to right, smarter etc.. And as one would expect in spiritual or philosophical forum we should expect passion. Sadly we to often get petty arguments resulting from knee jerk reactions to supposed slights. Visionaries lie to themselves. Visionaries grow to believe in something; a better world, a utopia, a better way to accomplish something, even on changing the world. And on ways to accomplish these visions. Even if accomplishing these are next to impossible or against all odds. To the point of "lying" to themselves and ignoring truths so they can accomplish such visions or goals. To be foolish enough to follow the dreams the visions. These are not true lies, but true believes. Carlos Enrique Ortiz On Fredrick Nietzsche We are closer than we realize sometimes, sometimes too close for comfort ... There are teachers here and there be visionaries here. Some times we are both. If only for a brief moment.

And from a state of confusion I am grateful for the few versus the many potential bee stings I received as I traverse along the way. Some days I come to the realization "Man oh man, You are living the dream". I return in gratitude to the attitude of to those whom much was given, much is expected in return. I do consider myself wealthy in spirit as my needs are few and easily met. I often try to mentally walk a few miles in another's shoes. How would I stand up under the conditions of that soul or that one? Gratitude 24-7 ? No, but incremental gains in it daily for which I am grateful!
