Stop worrying. Take action to improving your life in general and health in particular. Again concern is ok, worry is not. -
Based upon information published December 2010 Major Maryland hospitals (USA Major Hospital)s: Federal Government 1 Proprietary (for profit) 2 Non profit private 29 Non profit other 9 Non profit church 6 The vast majority would not be paying property taxes. Not that it amounts to a hill of beans. Nor will this, but some enlightened hospitals have found paying nurses and other health care providers to visit and provide both preventive and routine care to the uninsured members of the public who regularly avail them selves of their services in the ER have better utilization of there limited resources and an improved bottom line!

Satisfied (from sated ?) no need nor desire for any more or less than what is available or was eaten? Not gluttony nor avarice. Not hungry and not having a belly ache from overeating.

The massive expansion of the SSI disability program was driven by the reduction of federal funds for unemployment to the states who wised up pretty quickly and encouraged the unemployed to apply for SSI. At (my) last glance the vast majority of health care costs in the USA occur in an individuals last year or two of life. Emergency room care for non life threatening illness or injury is so expensive as compared to urgent care and again compared to routine care. My friend a roofing contractor sums it up this way, Pay me now $x or pay me $xxx later. Waiting for a tornado to remove the old shingles before replacing your leaky roof is an option too. Not a wise one penny wise pound foolish comes to mind.

I'm old enough to remember Doctors doing house calls. As our systems get more complex, unintended consequences result. Antibiotics use in animal agriculture for instance, effects ripple out beyond the intended consequence. The cost of 12 education (post grade12) in general not just medical school is out of balance. At the rate we are going, if we judge society based upon how we treat our weakest, we will fail dismally. There exists great wisdom in the old ways...

IMHO, maturity, experience, discernment to name a few of the qualities that are missing in this thread... Edit to add : Missing in part but not completely, is mature discernment of motive, am I part of the problem or aiding in its resolution?

Well that's certainly one option! Maybe not optimal ?

Post 39 has ramial wood chips in the swale. Anyone familiar with them? My understanding is deciduous ramial hardwood chips have a desirable Carbon to Nitrogen ratio of between 25-1 and 30-1. My experience with chips, branches, logs are they either tie up available nitrogen, as bacteria fungi do their work, or if placed to deep in soil anaerobic activity occurs. Locally municipal yard waste and kitchen scraps are composted using supplemental urea to get the carbon to nitrogen ratio (c/n) to between 25-1 and 30-1. -

Hmm I abhor waste! I always have! The son of depression era children it seems to be genetic. Having spent nearly fifty years in agriculture I have spent many an hour trying to get blood from a turnip. As an airplane pilot for nearly thirty years I know better than to stretch a glide... I don't know much, knowing what I don't know is my greatest wisdom. Followed by leaving the smallest foot print possible, leave no trace take nothing but memories ...

H is for hunger. A is for anxiety worrying about food (a Major concern to many humans, too many children, way too many children!). P is for port ( Any port in a storm. Eat what's available, in moderation and with gratitude when ever possible.) P is for the peaceful feeling from a full stomach (not to be confused with a stomach ache). Y is for youch the discomfort I caused upon awakening and embracing the day destroying the spiders web as I stretched. Do I buy organic food or local food? What affects my choices? What are my choices effect on me physically and mentally? Do my prayers / intentions transform transmute my sins? I certainly hope so!!! In fact I try to act as if my life (or peace ) depends on it. I often fail. I awaken and embrace the new day with knowledge of my past failures, and the hope that I have learnt from them.

I agree whole heartedly with Marblehead hugging ladies or women (the distinction betwixt the two remains unclear to me, I consider the description interchangeable) a lot more fun and beneficial than hugging tree's. Now I am much discriminating when it comes to tree hugging, as often a thorny issue arises. Knowing the species and cultivar* and its inclinations are paramount when close encounters of the botanical sort are anticipated. Variety* is after all the spice of life! *Cultivar or variety as employed by signatory countries to UPOV Convention. I have been a tree hugger longer than a lady lover. My first love as a inner city child was a honey locust tree, a truly thorny relationship!

Yes, life at its best is hilarious. I live for those moments ... Hilarity trumps absurdity in my mind every time...

Channeling the Late but Great Ron Popeil : "Set it and forget it" ! The key is in the settings. Get the correct settings and smooth sailing awaits you. But the alternative is rough seas for sure... Now back to the regular scheduled program (late night early morning tv).
