Talking about the religious taoist sects/orders and the fact that now for some reason the veil seems to be lifted yet more. Here are some resources: Here's an interesting site that I found yesterday. www.taoistsecret.com This guy comes from Western Heaven Upper Sect. Here's his blog on talismans. http://taoisttalisman.blogspot.com/ This guy have books in the pipeline that obviously are going to blow of the roof of some of the lineage secrets that up until now have been reserved for initiated taoist priests. For what reasons I asked myself? Maybe the time is ripe now to release this kind of material to the world as we wenture further and further into kali yuga. Don't like how thin the line seems to be between right and left hand path practices within "religious taoism". Wouldn't mind checking out his book on mudras when it comes out though. Here's another dodgy website selling books on taoist magic. I get a dodgy feel from this although the index have some extremely interesting headings. I mean, what kind of vibe do you portray when you call the subtitle of you book "The art of getting even"?! Check at your own risk. http://www.visionpressfilms.com/ Furthermore, this guy seems also to have opened a door for initiation into one of the sects of religious daoism. http://wanderingtaoist.net/

http://biologyofkundalini.com/ Found this site the other nite by chance while scanning the net for some tantric material. Haven't had the time to check it out fully yet, but the topic seems highly intriguing. Where have the author got his/her information from? What do you guys make out of it? Thought I should post this for you since it might interest some people, especially since 2trees just did a topic on aminoacids.

Oops, I should be reading the threads more carefully. Sorry for that, don't want to bring old news to the table. But I'm not surprised you found this already Sean, since it really seems to be down your alley.

Here are my results. Root: under-active (-19%) Sacral: under-active (6%) Navel: open (13%) Heart: under-active (6%) Throat: open (19%) Third Eye: open (25%) Crown: open (63%) So I'll keep doing the rooting work with the Zhuangs and then work with the heart. Any suggestions for any good methods of working with opening the heart centre more?

The other night I was thinking of the Dao and wondering wether there was any truth to my notion that there is a possible lack of devotinal approach within this tradition. If someone would ask me what there is less of on the taoist path I would say devotion worship and a bhakti approach to the use of emotion. The last couple of months I've noticed that my heart seems to be in most dire need to open up to the realities of the heart. To give and recieve love, in order to live life less from an intellectual outlook and making me less indifferent to things. To connect with others through the heart as Mitch mentioned in another topic. (at least that's how I interpreted it.) Indifference can definitely be a good thing in many aspects, in order to stop being controlled by the emotions but instead make them steady and tempered. The notion within taoist and traditional TCM thought, that the emotions should never overflow. Is that something that can be harmonised with a devotional approach to God/Tao and your fellow beings. Is there any record of something similar to bhakti utilized within the daoist ways? I'm interested in whatever you folks have to say on this topic.

Sean, Haha! Love that! On the other hand I for one wouldn't trust teachings from guys calling themselves Samael or Belzebuub -
Maybe that's a great thing Affenbrot?! Less idling, more cultivating! I could sure need that myself! Re: the new format, I think its nice.. I Prefer this narrowed down format layout over the old broad lines as they are harder to read. The black void is all cool with me also.. Anyway Sean, Keep it up!

I've finally realized that my throat-centre need some serious work. I've always stayed away from it since it is not the first area people generally recommend you to focus directly on. But after working directly or indirectly with almost all of them in one way or another I realised that a lot of my recent problems are due to this centre being neglected. So what advice do you people have for balancing up a weak/underactive throat-centre? Are there any special visualizations in the Healing Tao system for it, I.e. colour assigned in taoist lore etc. Cheers & wish all taobums all a happy new year!

Cheers GT! I noticed that they renamed the book Taoist Astral Healing nowadays.. Will order them both eventually. -
Wow, ever since reading that "the meaing of the pure yang hand mudra" article on NQA's homepage I've been interested in master Wu's teachings. Jeremiah, if you don't mind I'll try contacting him too and ask wether I can also buy that book from him. Regards /Chris.

He's got a book and video on nei-gung out.. Anyone have any experience with this? There is a nice little article called Invisible light from Qi Magazine that you can read here. And what about his meditation book? Any good? I personally find it funny that he calls the book Chu Meditation, sounds a bit egomanic to me.. but hey. -
Anyone met the guy? Where is he now? His homepage www.qigongresearch.org is offline and had not been updated since 2002 or so. Have anyone tried his techiques? Was there a fallout with Chia? I've read about M. Winns opinions of him. Regards Chris.

Thanks for the tip Harry! Will definitely check out the Tao & longevity from Nan next time, and yes the Dao Yin exercise book from Ni looks interesting too. That was just funny. Typically me to confuse two different writers like that. My awareness of chinese names really isn't that good I can see hehe. Hope you can forgive me Affenbrot! Unfortunately I don't think there are any bookshops in Sweden or Scandinavia for that matter offering such a wide selection of taoist litterature, so browsing for myself is out of the question. (I was in store in Gothenburg a couple months ago that was supposed to be the largest Esoteric bookshop in Scandinavia, the taoist section had maybe 6 different books by mantak chia and one or two odd ones plus ken cohen's "way of qigong" and that was it. To me that was hands off the largest selection of taoist books I've ever seen for sale under the same roof in this country.) Thank G*d for internet bookshops!

Of course the Dervish is not talking about the waterpath of Taoism.. in that case I would've been extremely surprised! True.. There are so many different ways to play the game and so many different paradigms out there.. Better to trust yourself and follow your heart and don't belive anything just because you read it somewhere. But I like to read and compare paths even though I know it might be a stupid habit.

Da Liu is most definitely "for real". Looking forward to pick up all his book eventually. For the Scandinavian Speaking people there is an extremely interesting article about Mr. Liu in Knut Erik Andersens old newsletter, Tai Chi Nyt, Issue 8. For those of you that are too lazy to find a translator for the article or don't have the time I'll briefly do a freestyle translation of one of the greater anecdotes from the article. This interview was conducted at the humble age of 87. So YES, I belive Da Liu was the "Real Deal".. A true Daoist Hermit the midst in New York, he passed away at 96 years of age in 2000.
