The importance of Bodhichitta and compassion
xenolith replied to Jetsun's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Little do I know; this I do, the purpose of human Life is thus. -
You don't need Max balance; in fact, you need to not need Max...or anyone...other than you. Peace, xeno

Ah, the teacher complex, no...your body and your mind are your teachers; for the diligent student, lessons are clear. Facility with your MCO will ultimately introduce you to Indra's Web...you'll cry out of stunned amazement at the beauty of it...blazingly awakened will you be, while bodhicitta blossoms. A bodhisattva birth! xeno

Wow, was I an ass and a fool in this discussion; sincere apologies to all, Vajrahridaya especially. Truly a beautiful poem; much thanks V. xeno

Ego = the sum of the deviation from one's self induced by one's conditioning as a human being. One is born without ego, but gains it rapidly and progressively as a result of living in society; most die with with more ego than they can shed when the Bardo presents...they enter as what society says they are; and traverse the Samsaric desert exposed as a characature of their self...and lost. Choose not this course...subjugate your ego in Life. Choose forgiveness, humility, heart-thinking and Love...choose Bodhisattvaness. IOW, choose as if your next Life depends on it. Be well upon your paths friends, Love, xeno

Absence of said reveals much Kate...look to your Te, friend. -
Dejected about my situation in modern Life
xenolith replied to EastDream's topic in General Discussion
Exercise compassion for the individual people that comprise your family. Culture your Te. All that one encounters is an opportunity to grow closer to the Tao...indeed the more difficult, the more an opportunity...to be compassionate, to subjugate your ego, to grow closer to the Tao... Your family visit is a blessing. -
Could someone please tell me the purpose of life?
xenolith replied to manitou's topic in General Discussion
Yea, I meant me, not all bums...sorry I shouldn't have indicated otherwise. Please consider me grokked No dissing was intended, very sorry that it was recieved so. Please understand that to be an apology and a request for forgiveness. What I REALLY meant relative to your comment was...for one (a human being) whose Life is not "going badly" or for one (a human being) that gets their "going badly" Life rectified, if not doing what Albert posited, what? Lotsa Love, xeno -

Hi CowTao, In your first paragraph you refer to "... it is very possible...", in your second paragraph you refer to "...a few fortunate ones...". One would rationally conclude "it" (being, paraphrasing now...a self-less, compassionate person) is "very possible for the fortunate few"...is that what you meant to convey? If so, what makes the few fortunate? If not, please clarify meaning. Also curious...do you really think that many have been to the brink of the ultimate leap? I think very few have, would love to think otherwise, please help me to so think. Much thanks for your kind replies, xeno

Take care about Mantak Chia's exercises, it got me ill.
xenolith replied to Badogue's topic in General Discussion
Not interested in conflict...just want to inform this discussion with the briefest of cliff-notes from my experience...'Taoist Secrets of Love' has been foundational in my Life to exactly what Mantak purports it's capable of. Have read Multi-Orgasmic Man...consider it garbage. No ill effects...only extraordinarily positive effects. Experience informs me that his lack of informing readers of the import of humility is the most legitimate criticism of Mantak's writings. xeno -
Yes!...beautiful, insightful comments, well could close the thread! Will try to add just a bit... When one is born, so is one's ego...most of what happens subsequently nurtures the ego...and veils of illusion slip between one and the Tao. How long will be the road back to the Self? Lucky are they that perceive the veils before the Self is reduced to a character...deep Self inquiry is how...the meditative methods of the Taoists and Buddhists are well focused on early recognition...as are much of their teachings which seek to condition one toward Self awareness through ego-subjugation. Exercising compassion is both means and objective toward decommissioning one's ego and realizing one's Self...in the Tao...upon which, as you've so beautifully articulated, one has returned to their birth state, though now fully Self aware with mastery over their ego. Conditioning is key. So let your heart play. It will re-learn to do so instinctively as it did when new. Veils dissolve. Be well upon your path friends. Love, xeno

Having not read the rest of the thread, miss meow's comment surely now grounds it in truth.

Steve, you've got much understood IMO. What one acquires subsequnt to birth is largely detractatory to self awareness. You mentioned stripping away conditioning...crown center awarweness experiences do just that...that's the shortcut...but I digress...such is not neccessary to live one's Life exercising compassion...one need only allow their heart to lead their actions...even the socially conditioned can get there with sufficeint encouragement. So again I say, let your heart play! Lotsa Love Friends, xeno

Word. Big Word. Two comments: 1) compassion is the essence of the Bodhisattva...reason enough to cultivate it me thinks; and 2) until one recognizes one's self in others (ALL others) one has not a fully functional heart...as a consequence, that person will never perceive the veils of illusion that separate us from the reality of the Tao. Through exercising compassion for (ALL) others the heart gains (full) functionality expressed as voice and vocabulary to inform the self of the veils of illusion which surround it...making possible the revealing of the Tao. The astute will note that 1 and 2 are the same comment. Little positive vibe along these lines from Roger: Let your heart play! With Love, xeno
