  6. orgasm in my brain from cannabis, now need answers

well i would recommend meditation and sexual yoga for that sort of thing.. meditation is pretty easy to get started practicing, and while a teacher is a wonderful blessing, one doesn't need one to meditate and progress. And sexual yoga requires, for the most part, a partner, but there are aspects of it that do not, and one can work on those aspects while biding their time in the event that they are partnerless. There are some good threads here about both those subjects, including but not limited to http://thetaobums.com/topic/22912-semen-retention-100-days-and-my-experiences/ on semen retention and channeling sexual energy http://thetaobums.com/topic/25458-white-skeleton-meditation-instructions/ white skeleton meditation instructions http://thetaobums.com/topic/25860-the-importance-of-posture-during-meditation/ importance of posture during meditation http://thetaobums.co...d-chamber-arts/ taoist bedchamber arts there have been so many threads about books, practices, and all such nonsense as could be imagined about both topics, so dig on your own!

practices don't have to be esoteric to be effective. Maybe some other bums can give some book or site references for MCO, i usually recommend Daniel Reid's Tao of Health Sex and Longevity because it changed my own life (and is a great book) and i am pretty sure he covers the MCO in it. As far as a competent teacher in DC, im sure there are some in the area. What would you like to study? Maybe some people from here are in DC and know better than i, i would just search the web. i am not sure what you want out of this though, control over your energies incl. sexual energy, or to recreate the experience of an orgasm in your head.

  11. Religion is the poison of Spirituality

this thread was on shaky ground from the beginning, but some people, like vmarco, ruin every thread they touch with their overbearing approach to conversation. i would like to be the first to ask vmarco to leave again! thank you vmarco.

neat experience danny the short answer to your question is "probably". most likely yes. I constrain my affirmation because it occurs to me that the fireworks might have been due to your pushing through blockages, and once the blockages are gone, the fireworks might not return. As to bliss and orgasmic feelings in your head, yes that is repeatable, and daoist sexual arts are one way to achieve that. do you meditate? the microcosmic orbit is a good place to start working with energies, and sexual energy especially, because its so charged and you can feel it so readily. I hope you can find a qigong teacher or something similar in your area, because that will help a lot too.

TI, thank you so much my friend, such a helpful post. I Greatly appreciate you taking the time to comment and point out all those resources! wow... when i was in retreat last month i felt that my thoughts were the enemy, that they were destroying my meditation! i perfectly well know better, and thought it was rather odd to find such a view taking hold in my mind. I have also in the past encountered heartbreak for no reason! i chalked all this up to astrological alignments, or lack of sleep, but its interesting to see them listed as signs of progress. My curiosity is roused, and i intend to read that book. One of the affinities i find with Wallace is his deep respect for shamatha. There is a tragic movement (i think moreso in the west) to beeline for advanced practices and for the initiated, to "collect tantras" as Trungpa Rinpoche put it... i have met people who, when i tell them i will be leading a shamatha meditation, say to me "oh, no. i sit vipassana!" with some kind of attitude like shamatha is for babies. All the traditional teachers who i have ever heard talk about it advocate regular and sustained shamatha practice, and i feel good knowing that BAWallace has thrown his lot in with the traditionalists. thanks (again ) i have never read him, just listened to his retreats.. i think i will start with Stilling the Mind tho, i feel drawn to it wow i used to lucid dream almost every night, before i started experimenting with cannabis. Since i stopped smoking, i have been meaning to get back into it, that book might be just what i have been looking for! Awesome a lot of people recommend that Norbu book, its on my list, and thank you again for all those recommendations and helpful advices. yes his explanation of rainbow bodies was illuminating for me too.. i had read about a woman who was intruded upon in the 5th day of her 7 day rainbow body process and it was said that her arms and legs were cast about, not connected to her body, but there was no blood, just light and rainbows coming out of her joints and going everywhere... and i have also read about a tibetan under house arrest who was reported by chinese authorities to by tiny like a child when they checked on him, and that freaked them out, so they went back a week later with a team and all they found was hair and fingernails. So i found that confusing until Wallace explained the 3 kinds of rainbow passing. Awesome stuff. Didn't Wallace say that only Padmasambhava and Garab Dorje and maybe a handful of others since have attained the "pop" you describe? many blessings TI

TI have you read the Alan Wallace book Stilling Your Mind? I am kind of into it because it references a Dudjom Lingpa text but kind of not because it only references the beginning of the text. I trust Wallace to know what's relevant, but i wondered if you thought that the book was watered down or something like that. I am a beginner, so perhaps it would be totally appropriate to me. I just received The Dzogchen Primer edited by Marcia Binder Schmidt in the mail today, and there isn't much dzogchen in it so far. But i only paid a dollar for it so i'm not really concerned. Also interesting to me is the book Steve listed, Buddhahood Without Meditation: A Visionary Account Known As Refining Apparent Phenomen by Dudjom Lingpa and A Clear Mirror, Lingpa's autobiography, which Wallace mentions as being mindblowing in the later part of the retreat. of all the Dudjom Rinpoche books that i feel drawn to, i think Wisdom Nectar: Dudjom Rinpoche's Heart Advice is the one i will start out with. Going to finish Reggie Ray's Vajra Secret which i am on page 400 or so of, and peruse Dzogchen Primer (which i do not have high hopes for) and then finish Perfect Clarity, which i am halfway through... then will have a space to start reading more traditional dzogchen material. If anyone has suggestions (has anyone read Flight of the Garuda by Dowman?) i would love to hear them.. blessings edit: also Longchenpa's Radical Dzogchen... also translated by Dowman. does anyone have any feedback on any of these texts?

  16. Introduction to Dzogchen Retreat with B Alan Wallace

Hi TI, just wanted to chime in and say that while i have seen that instruction in a number of places, i find it very draining to maintain over any length of time. Standing in the middle of the town square like the sheriff with my guns out, waiting for thoughts so i can shoot them down just makes me feel tense and grumpy after a while.. and as you point out later in that post, it doesn't really stop the thoughts as well as just relaxing into a presence which is neither grasping or rejecting thoughts and just letting them quiet down over time. So that has been my experience too.

belittling others is the first root downfall, i don't really see the point interestingly as it relates to your case, refusing to share dharma teachings is the second root downfall, and holding an antagonistic outlook is the ninth root downfall.

im not working full-time right now, so i have a lot of free time. there are a couple tracks (like 17) that i could listen to endlessly, but i find myself kinda hungry for more traditional sources, like the classic literature and writings from tibetan masters. Nothing against BAWallace thats just what arises in me at present. thanks. i love when people think they are practiced buddhists but they can't show an ordinary virtue like basic helpfulness. halarious.. thank you for all your help, im reading those links after i type this blessings
  24. Introduction to Dzogchen Retreat with B Alan Wallace

finally found rushan (its not a chinese cheese) and i do that all the time. im crazy. why do you bother to give a list of obscure topics and then not post a link or a source, or respond to requests for clarification.. not much help really. seems youre better at talking shit. you could at least say "no im too busy talking shit on everything and everyone to help you right now".. have some manners sir
  25. Introduction to Dzogchen Retreat with B Alan Wallace

by far my favorite track just on a feeling level.. it was read throughout a mediation session as a sort of guide too, which gives it more impact or emphasis or something intangible.. im going to listen to it again
