  1. Free Authentic Thoth Tarot Readings

The Adept — Arcanum XXI (21) Expresses in the spiritual world, angelhood. In the intellectual world, the triumph of adeptship. In the physical world, the highest possible attainment. Remember, then, son of earth, that the empire of the world belongs to the empire of light and that the empire of light is the throne which God reserves for the sanctified will. If Arcanum XXI should appear in the prophetic signs of thy horoscope, thou wilt gather the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, and drink of the eternal fountain, if thou art sufficiently master of thyself to approach it without coveting; obstacles will disappear from thy path, and thy destiny will have no limit save those of thy will. In Divination, Arcanum XXI may be read as Success or Attainment. Arcanum XXI is figured by a kneeling young girl playing on a harp of three strings. Above is a wreath of twelve flowers, each flower having three blossoms. At each of the four angles of the wreath is a head; the two below being the head of an eagle and the head of a bull, the two above being the head of a lion and the head of a man. The man’s head has the sacred serpent at its brow to indicate mental fertility. In the center of the wreath is a phallus and a yoni conjoined. This sacred lingha is soaring upward through the wreath, sustained by two wings. The young girl symbolizes purity of life. She is modestly clothed to indicate simplicity of living and moderation in desires. She kneels as she plays the harp to indicate absolute devotion to the higher laws, and prayerful aspirations to live a spiritual life. The harp has three strings, signifying harmony of body, intellect and emotions. The twelve flowers of the wreath above are the twelve zodiacal signs in which all experience is gained. The three blossoms of each flower indicate that both souls, as represented joined in the winged linga, have garnered the flowers of zodiacal experience on all planes, physical, astral and spiritual. The head of the Lion signifies the creative forces of the solar sign, Leo, and the courage which is necessary to all real attainment. The head of the Bull represents the fructifying agent of nature and points out the necessity of labor in all progress. The Eagle signifies that sex, as signified by the sign Scorpio, has been turned into channels which lead to spirituality. And the head of the Man indicates that both intuition and intelligence are necessary guides in unfolding the highest spiritual possibilities. These four emblems ranged around the zodiac typify the processes of evolution. They are the four forms of the Egyptian sphinx, and also symbolize the passage of the Sun through the four zodiacal quadrants. As applied to adeptship they point out that the neophyte must have energy and courage to sustain his efforts, must have knowledge to direct his energies properly, must labor ceaselessly for the realization of his aspirations, and must gradually tune his emotions to a higher, more spiritual vibratory level. Those four attributes, Wisdom, Perseverance, Courage, and Love are usually rendered in occult circles as: “To Know, To Do, To Dare, To be Silent.” The winged linga in the center of the wreath of zodiacal flowers symbolizes the permanent union of soul-mates and their ascension into angelic worlds by virtue of the properties of the soul-mates system so formed. The girl kneeling by the harp denotes that this union was brought about by living the life of the spirit while on earth. Spiritual aspirations and devotion to furthering God’s Great Plan, loving and unselfish endeavor to contribute the utmost to cosmic welfare, together with a clear conception of the laws of harmony, in time bring about the recognition across the spaces and the development of exchanging lines of force, which lead to this ineffable union. This harmonious reverberation of soul to soul is symbolized by the harp of three strings, for the union embraces all three planes. Strength depends upon harmony, and the music of their souls sounding across the spaces endows both with a hitherto unknown power to overcome obstacles, to gain the blossoms of experience on all three planes, as signified by the three flowers related to each of the 12 zodiacal signs. As a whole the ensemble signifies the attainment of adeptship while on earth, and the crown of angelhood that awaits such perfect human beings when they have passed from the physical and function in the sublime vistas of the future. 4. Free Authentic Thoth Tarot Readings

for a great description of ancient tarot i recommend reading The History And Practice of Magic by Paul Christian about the place of tarot in the egyptian mystery schools, and a description of the 21 trumps as described from pictures found in egyptian temples. Different from pamela smiths art, and waite's concepts, and definitely different from crowleys reenvisioning of the tarot
  5. there is a part of me that totally agrees with you, and i admit that if he was someone i know saying this to my face, i would call the authorities too. Thats pretty radical for me to say, i am not like that. I guess it is easy to minimalize it when its on the internet and its just a bunch of text. if someone was just crazily ranting on the bus about killing people in gods name they would get committed to an insane asylum against their will by force of the police, but when someone does it on the internet i want to hold their hand and encourage them on the path LOL thanks for the perspective, i agree with you. Still not sure what moderation's role in this is if any, but you have good points about the psychotic and dangerous and the stages leading up to psychological collapse.
  6. aaron, i personally agree with your assessment of tulku as psychologically unhealthy, and i personally think that its obvious that sunlover is just tulku's latest incarnation here on taobums, but i don't think that its the moderation squad's job to censor posts or demand that unhealthy individuals get counseling or get on medication or attain a certain level of realization before being able to post. So its an interesting issue to bring up, because i would like to see this character get some help too, but i disagree with the idea that moderation here should be the catalyst. In my opinion, maybe the closest thing that is going to happen to an intervention or an awakening on his part is that we voice our concerns directly and in a loving way, and just resist our own urges to mock or ridicule or talk down to or marginalize him. I think that he is in a lot of pain and that when people are in that state its powerful just to address them as human beings. Besides, he is obviously here because he needs help on the path, and probably doesn't really know where else to get it. I know i have been guilty of ridiculing him before, it was a very interesting pointing out of my own weaknesses and lack of tolerance for what i perceived as insanity. You can't force people to get help, thats actually hardly ever helpful to the person in question, only maybe in severe cases (which i am not sure this is) helpful to the people in their family or circle who may be injured by a psychotic break. But you can always do your best to help them realize for themselves that they do need help, and in that event, they will find it on their own. (hopefully in the form of realization and personal change and softening, and not psychotropic medication...) Again its not that i don't agree with your assessment (mostly i seem to) but i think that on internet forums, as in everyday life, people like him just pop up, and its a challenge and a test (mostly to our egos) to use our own skillful means (sorry to put it in buddhist terms but i think its appropriate) to deal in the most compassionate and loving way we can with those people. So beyond gently pointing out the contradictions and faulty logic expressed in his posts, or encouraging him in a creative and genuine way to get help, i think just ignoring this person is actually the most benefit to him and to the participants of TTB. I know it may sound hypocritical because i have let my clever side and my own ego run rampant all over the mess he tends to make when he does pop up, and i can only say that i must have matured in the meantime due to good guidance and good practice. So at present, i only want to provide and encourage the same for him in hopes that one day he finds peace. Lastly just want to say i respect your way of trying to help those who are obviously suffering, and am not posting this in opposition to you in any way just to offer my own point of view since thats what these forums are for
  7. Coconut milk

i buy thai milk by arroy-d it is the meatiest but no bits, just thick <drool>
  8. sunlover, i think the point which you repeatedly miss is that the real devil is dualism and divisive and prejudicial thinking. So when you make things into angels and devils, you have already created a stark duality, which is the mechanism of mental suffering. Since you are creating suffering, who is the devil? You talk about buddhas/angels but youre mixing metaphors religiously speaking... angels are generally the forces of good and light and love and are defined in opposition to demons and darkness and evil, but one of the marks of buddhas is that they realize that all beings, light, dark, neutral, and otherwise, possess the buddha-nature, that their core is indistinguishable from enlightenment. That basic integrity and wholeness is the birthright of everyone on the moral spectrum, the play of light and dark will always chase each other around. Thats not in question. The real question is, when will we step off the wheel into nondual wakefulness? The distinctions you draw only have merit from a relative point of view, in the dualistic perspective that divides everything into polar opposites. i think you have some interesting energy from a drive-to-awaken point of view, but the way you channel that energy is constantly at odds with awakening. From a buddhist point of view anyway.

  11. Do you "belong to"/follow any particular tradition?

I have taken refuge vows, bodhisattva vows, and lay vows in the Kagyu (Tibetan Vajrayana) Buddhist tradition. I relate to the rime approach however, and mostly consider myself to be non-sectarian, and open to Buddhism beyond the bounds of Tibetan Vajrayana. Jigten Sumgon's idea of gonchog, or that all the branches of teaching were essentially about one thing, awakening to our true and liberated nature, makes a lot of sense to me. For a long time i would not self-identify as any particular "-ist" but over time my studies of Buddhism have led me to deepen my practice in that tradition. I agree turtle shell, everything a person needs to progress very very far is out there in the public domain. So many traditions are just out there like here is our practices and 5000 books available if you need something to read, but sooo many people think they need something "special".. like if its free its worthless
  12. Smoking is a type of meditation

Anything that one does mindfully can be a meditation. So why smoke? Its not a rhetorical question.. I'm interested in anyone's answer that isn't "because i'm addicted".
  13. Thats really sad. I am involved in the Shambhala lineage and it is a constant struggle for me to reconcile the horrible example Chogyam Trungpa set for others via alcoholism and philandering with his prolific dharma activities, and the benefit that he has brought so many practitioners in the west. I bring it up because in that Behind The Thangkas blog it is mentioned that Sogyal was influenced by the "rock star lifestyle" of Chogyam Trungpa after meeting him. While that blog is anonymous, it is widely known that Trungpa lived, for a monk, an outrageously debaucherous life. Needless to say its a disgrace, really to the whole tradition, when teachers act like that. I hope that the truth about those actions can come to light. Inevitably the karma that Sogyal creates will be his to resolve, and I hope that can happen without more people getting hurt. Thanks for sharing
  14. What are you reading right now?

always wanted to pick up Brian Walker's Hua Hu Ching and never got around to it how is it viator? I'm halfway through Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche's Wild Awakening - The Heart of Mahamudra and Dzogchen now and its very good. I really like him, and the book is clear and helpful. In person he is halarious, always cracking really funny jokes, but this book is more scholarly and kind of dry compared to the wit that he actually possesses. Very lucid and informative. on my wish list: Rebel Buddha: On the Road to Freedom by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche Wisdom Wide and Deep - A Practical Handbook for Mastering Jhana and Vipassana - by Shaila Catherine
  15. Religion

i think you might be making blanket statements, which are never accurate. but yes many hucksters in the bliss and ecstasy business pitch their shtick to those who lack bliss and ecstasy makes sense to me, just kinda something you have to deal with to seperate the legit paths from the snake oil
  16. to the OP, have you considered that the stories of mindblowing multiple full body orgasms are just hype for marketing purposes? i mean the prostate can be great, but those accounts might be exaggerations.
  17. Talking with Gods

lol you can probably dig up some video, i know he has done some work with disinformation
  18. Religion

i would just like to further comment that any tradition which deals in kundalini will necessitate union with the divine and absorption or however you would like to verbalize the "mystical experience" by virtue of the progression of kundalini in a persons life. it doesn't matter if they are quagmired in jewish dogma or the confines of islam (which btw i am not denying) or xiantity, the kundalini, which is known in the true mystical traditions of those religions, will by force of its own power, more or less "force" a mystical experience. I think its important to realize that the spirit itself, by any name, does not differentiate between religious paths, and is always available for people to tap into, giving rise to sacred or mystical experience. So while we might think "oh daoism is the way and if people are not daoists they are missing out" the truth is that people of all faiths and paths have experiences of mystical absorption, "cosmic consciousness", and can experience the unfettered or natural state of being. The idea that they can't might be a subtle and potentially dangerous form of daoist dogma, which can keep practitioners from realizing an important spiritual truth, that the spirit itself doesn't discriminate and is available to all sincere seekers.
  19. Religion

thank you xiejia i wasnt going to respond to that but im glad you did anyone who says that the mystical traditions of sufism and kabbalah don't allow true immersion into the mystical spiritual "absolute" is obviously not aware of the depth of those traditions they are pretty far off the beaten path, but i think in the case of the comments of fizix, they are just being stereotyped because they fall under the umbrella of organized religions, which are easy to write off.
  20. Religion

judaism has kabbalah, islam has sufism, and christianity has um some wierdo sects of quakers, shakers, and others that work with kundalini in their own strange but admittedly beautiful way so i just want to clarify that within the umbrellas of the abrahamic religions, there is genuine spirituality. Its just not mainstream.
