  3. Nice to have the Tao Bums back

awesome idea sinfest! i have a fast connect and it still lags... 15 vids on a page is too much @all, to put a vid in spoiler, click the 3rd icon over from the left (BBCode) and scroll down to spoiler. I think that <left bracket>spoiler<right bracket> and <left bracket>/spoiler<right bracket> work too, right sinfest?
  4. i think if you're honest with yourself (and you seem to be) you'll overcome it, no problem. Capricorns are the most argumentative and opinionated if you ask me lol but strong in other great ways, like disciplined and precise. There are no good signs or bad signs they all have their good and bad points. Is your birthday late december early/mid january?
  5. some rishis saw them in their inner vision as lotuses that "opened" as they were "activated" lol hence the idea of opening them. To those seers the chakras went from being a closed lotus to a blossomed one...for what its worth i agreeeee they spinsorry i forgot your learning thread
  6. Stalk the Buddha

enlightenment or immortality, or just a radical achievement of any kind, theres bound to be dissent from the herd of naysayers. Thats just groupthink in action. I agree to achieve liberation one must abandon the opinions of others... break on through yup. i wanted to find some reason to disagree with you, but on consideration im with you lol
  7. oh mrtiger in answer to your question about specific meditations, i don't know any off hand but recognizing a problem and intending to change is sometimes all it takes to start a chain of events which can lead one to outgrow things like youre talking about. I agree with those who advise just to recognize other's opinions as equally valid as your own, and just practice appreciating diversity and cultivating openmindedness
  8. its true that the root chakra is associated with security, and that a well balanced one will allow one to feel secure regardless of external circumstances. sinfest, i thought you mocked the idea of chakras? change of mind? just curious.. maybe i just remember you mocking the phrase "open the chakras" or something anyway, @mrtiger, the problem could easily be a result of one's astrological makeup. Those born with their sun in Capricorn Taurus and Leo tend to be opinionated and those arent the only explanations for such a trait. check out http://www.astro.com/cgi/ade.cgi which is a wonderful astrology site called astrodienst, better known as astro.com. You will need to know the time of day you were born (mommmm...) and some other easy data. Then you can look up your natal chart and get some free info which might help you understand yourself better. under free horoscopes at the left, click "all horoscopes at a glance" and look for "astro click portrait" among the selections on the page. Its most useful to me for isolating that sort of trait to a particular influence. have fun!

  12. Taoist views on Buddhist way

yeah a lot of buddhism belongs to the sutra schools (the "study" schools), which are based on philosophy and scriptures tantric buddhism (the "practice" schools) is more concerned with the dan tian, in most of its forms, vajrayana, ch'an, zen, etc. "buddhist breathing" in qigong, as taught to me by a ch'an monk, involves the diaphram, dantian, and perineum. i think most of the reason for the idea that buddhism doesn't concern itself with vital energy or the dantian boils down to the fact that buddhism is complex and mysterious and if one hasn't actually studied it, they probably don't actually understand it. They probably understand a surface level misinterpretation of it, of which there are manymanymanyyy. For example, that it is alien. It is most fundamentally human, but most human's can't grasp it, so they reject it in a display of dualism that proves one of its foundational points. ah well i digress.
  13. Taoist views on Buddhist way

how do you ever expect to attain anything if you don't lol the way is not arrogance, enlightenment is different than an ego trip
  14. I hunger for more

you should learn to respect and develop compassion for the spirit world. blasting entities can lead one to trouble. in fact i can imagine little else it would lead to.
  15. you say the 4.0 overseas lacrosse ceo's didn't show any signs of kundalini? what are the signs of kundalini? you can't tell by looking at someone unless you're really really keen. maybe those guys had active kundalini and maybe they didnt, im not saying they did, but im saying some people are born with it, and many people have it active to some degree, even if its just the ability to raise up to the manipura, the 3rd chakra of willpower and intention. mike my point is that not everyone with active K is sitting in full lotus contemplating their souls. And some people are just born with, for example, mars in ares, giving them a tendancy towards drive and success in their ambitions. There are so many factors that go into what people end up being good at, that its impossible to narrow it down to one factor that is for all intents invisible, and say "show me the money" You can also look at it like this, most of the major accomplishments in history have been made by people in some form of mystery school or secret society, and they all have kundalini practices that go into their upper level cultivation. Almost without exception, even freemasons know about kundalini and practice raising the spirit fire from the root to the head. So from William Shakespeare on down, maybe most of the accomplishments you know about have been done by people who utilized K energy but kept a low profile because of the clandestine nature of their fraternity. all that being said, the unfolding of your energy will take some time. You might have psychic intuitions about people you look at, knowledge might fall out of hte sky into your lap, you might find yourself functioning with higher energy, or you might not experience any of those things. But none of that, whatever the manifestation of your personal gift is, is going to happen right away, or in a span of time that would seem reasonable to you. (i don't presume to know whats reasonable to you, but based on your complaints, i assume you want to skip the foreplay and get right to the ecstacy) good questions, and i appreciate your post, well researched, but in my opinion there have been a shit-ton of people who have used K to manifest awesome accomplishments, inventions, and insights throughout history. They just tend not to have "kundalini" tattoed on their foreheads.
  16. methods to enter deep sleep ?

kundalini never up to any good LOL
  17. yes good postings indeed

  18. Peerless Dakini

    beautiful!
  19. methods to enter deep sleep ?

yeah some blockages are deep. thats what shaking practices are for, to get in there and root that stuff out.
  20. Taoist views on Buddhist way

neither do asians. Its not uncommon for a chinese to consider themselves daoist and buddhist, theres no real contradiction. looking at differences is moreso a western thing
  21. methods to enter deep sleep ?

no thats actually super beneficial, it just keeps you awake, which is annoying. It is removing blockages from your energy and mind, like sinancencer said. also look into valerian tea, which smells like feet, but will definitely help you sleep. If the odor is to um herbal for you, you can get gelcaps with powder in them to take with whatever sleepy tea you like (i like chamomile and chrysanthemum flowers mixed)
  22. I hunger for more

i think he said it happened when he was younger, not while he was meditating maybe he has invisible help suspicious yes but its not a result of improper meditation if i understand him. just clarifying. for what its worth (@lindelani), many people have supernatural occurances during their childhood. The mind is open then, and the world is a wild place full of many characters seen and unseen. Just be sure to follow proper techniques when you meditate, take things in the order they arise in, don't force things in other words. The 3rd eye won't open easily, and in trying, many people have caused themselves damage by entraining excess qi to their heads causing imbalance and in some cases insanity (not kidding). Be cautious, there is a lot of middle ground between meditative ecstacy and complacent normal reality. If you are gung-ho for ecstacy its really an aversion to something, the truth is ordinary and plain, like water. Best wishes and blessings with your practice, your 3rd eye will open in time with strong sadhana. Just sit every day, don't force your head open, it will open naturally.
  23. methods to enter deep sleep ?

the twitching and spasming are kundalini cleaning your system out of obstructions. Shaking practice helps with that, you'll find some good threads here on that. It goes away after its cleared your energy body of obstructions. But its best to take a proactive approach, with shaking practice, to keep your system from building up pressure at the points of obstruction and spasming at inappropriate times pressing the bubbling spring point of your feet, right below the pad of your foot in the middle, helps put the mind/body to sleep. best wishes to you
  24. Orgasm Without Ejaculation

so wait, you think you're better than the rest of us bums, and only accept the relationship of "realized masters" but im the one with the full cup? holy crap theres not even a logical fallacy for that, thats just a logic fail. epic. btw, i didnt say anything "will" happen. again, good luck with your practices.
  25. Concentration

Shamatha. Letting your mind rest in the breath, watching the breath. When your mind wanders and you catch it, bring it back to the breath. With practice, you can attain a state of less and less thoughts and more and more concentration. Its that simple, but its not that easy lol! Very little practice beats shamatha for building concentration, thats why it is the backbone of Buddhist meditation.
