hahaha as surely as your "necessary conflict" is what it is no petty self importance is the problem. Lets not get carried away. you can write a lot of logically contorted verbage about how you have every right to behave pettily because others are [fill in the blank]. You've chosen to um believe that others believe... and that gives you, who see yourself above such beliefs, the right to speak to them in whatever way your ego sees fit. But at the end of the day youre still a bad example of how to treat others, and all your doing is blaming everyone but yourself for your behavior. I just figured you might appreciate that, since you seem to champion calling spades spades. I just wanted to call attention to the fact that as clever as your words are, they still don't excuse lack of integrity or virtue. So spin it all you want, convince yourself that its necessary (only for your ego), but in the final analysis treating people poorly is still treating people poorly. I really wasn't making any personal remarks against you, and i'm not going to write more than that about it. again, Just Sayin. All the bickering really ruins this forum sometimes. I can see exactly why cameron left 25 times.

I am not claiming to know, and i haven't come that far along in my own progress, but i think the "immortal body" is a body of light that can house the consciousness after death. To develop ones immortal body to stabilization is to insure that one can survive as a spiritual immortal without being subject to the fate of ghosts that just choose not to "go into the light". Those spirits are said to be subject to appetites and unresolved mental and spiritual karmas that a person who has developed their immortal body can be free from. Such a person can travel to the realms of immortals and siddhas and to various dreaming worlds and strange places and isnt "bound" to places and people like ghosts are. As i understand, being a ghost is like dreaming when you don't really know youre dreaming.. you don't have youre "left brain" or conscious mind so to speak.. youre just on autopilot, shuffling through the scenario in a dreaming awareness. That last part comes from maryanne winkowski, "the ghost hunter" who is often a guess of mark noory on coast to coast AM. The first part comes from a mishmash of teachings and readings on the human potential so i can't site a real source, sorry. Take it or leave it

Cancer-killing dandelion tea gets $157K research grant

first of all, the rule of thumb was an 1800s rule that said that a man could beat his wife with a stick as long as that stick was no wider than his thumb. So thats a pretty misogynist reference FYI second of all, i don't think you're on to anything there, mostly because different parts of the plant are edible.. like evergreens have edible needles and long taproots but some are poisonous (hemlock) and also poison ivy has a long taproot... so i think herbology in general is more complex than general rules account for... it seems that one needs specific knowledge when approaching the plant world when hungry or in need of medicine. -
My girlfriend just made an AWEsome pesto with ramps, garlic greens, and kale don't eat ramps if you care about your breath. mint, fennel, none of it will help you they have a really short growing season but they are SOOSOOSSOOSOSOSOSo good

has anyone else noticed that every post that has any substance here gets to about 50 posts *at most* of actual discussion and then descends into petty bickering!? it really detracts from the quality of TTB. I guess i noticed it when i would read posts before i was a poster myself, but now that i am actually involved in discussions, its more annoying. how hard is it to respect your fellow human beings even if you don't agree with them, like them, believe them, etc?! For all the criticism of religion and buddhism in general, this sort of infantile behavior doesn't happen 1/20th as often on buddhist forums. hahaha Just Sayin nothin personal twinner, its everywhere, its not just you

konchog uma posted a topic in General Discussion
Fricke and Madgison made Baraka, and the -quatsi trilogy, and their movies have no dialogue if you have never seen baraka, look the trailer up for it and watch it.. then stream it or rent it or pirate it or view it by any means necessary! http://www.spiritofbaraka.com/samsara-trailer-available-to-watch-online -

@white wolf tantric deity practice in the tibetan tradition are meant to instill the energy of the buddhas into one. One is not actually absorbing Tara or Medicine Buddha themselves, but the essence of their energy. It isn't an entity as such, although as a pattern of energy it may react intelligently.

why we practice is because it generates its own rewards. Clarity, peace of mind, energy, etc. why did you think we did it? btw you are responsible for your own actions regardless of how you choose to interpret the mystical teachings. Don't say nobody ever told you. -
if you look at world traditions they overlap on the points of prayer and meditation. There is hardly a wisdom or spirit tradition that produces results without them. So to me they are foundation. Since there are a million ways to meditate, and countless deities and spirits to evoke, they are kind of like the foundation for a sprawling palace of vast proportions scriptural poetry is pretty universal too

yeah sure thing i have learned a lot of good stuff from him btw, and my own kuji-in teacher, when i showed him lepine's stuff, said he was impressed. They have a similar teaching focus actually. So there are some good things about him but not mentioned on that dharma wheel thread hahahaaha pretendai lol
-
they're similar but not the same and KYMQ is done with the heels raised which opens the heel channels that drain excess energy from the head. I have never had a problem with energy buildup in the head from it. red phoenix as i learned it doesnt do that, and i had problems which probably came from not closing down long enough. They were alleviated before i got seriously sick, but i still won't practice kunlun because of my experience with it. No disrespect to kunlun, and the teacher who taught me is awesome, but its just not for me, thats all.

@tulku why should you derail another thread with your incoherent ramblings about transcending samsara? your posts stink of dualism, and suffering, so why should we be subjected to these musings from your cave about what sunlight must feel like? ack if you are going to completely derail a thread, at least have the courtesy to just start a new thread with a new name. thanks

http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=3949&start=0 edit: i will add that those opinions aren't my own, just some educated opinions, for what thats worth. i personally like mahavajra for some reasons and dislike him for others, but (risking silliness here) i don't see him as "enlightened" in the classic sense, and i'm not sure you would reach enlightenment just by doing what he teaches. He has a youtube page if you want to see him speak, and his books are available scattered around the interwebs on filesharing sites for free his real name is francois lepine if you want to search him out.

What's the dealio with visualizing chakras?
konchog uma replied to jacklantegi's topic in General Discussion
the chakras spin on the axis of sushumna for me. So i look at them from the top down when i talk about clockwise or counterclockwise. in other words, clockwise means from left to right in the front, and right to left in the back. -
he is saying that there is a link to a site which distributes malicious code. It may not be stopped by adblock. that stops ads. it may be detected by a good antivirus, but if a person goes to the site anyway, there is no guarantee that it will be blocked. Its the link from that dog drinking from the sprinkler with the caption wwhhharrrgarble or something, i actually forget what thread it is, but i went to follow that link and got the same response.. dirty site.
