yeah wonderful story! what a gift! as you are probably aware, terrence and dennis mckenna had a similar experience, or i should say, terrence did, in that after a megadose of mushrooms, he was unable to speak for a month, while being able to telepathically communicate with his brother. So that is a story of a longer-term psilocybin<sp> effect in a similar vein to your story.

awesome MPG! thanks for sharing

thanks all of you! i feel awesome about it. Its different than sitting half or quarter or burmese.. i see why its said to be best for energy and stability @InfinityTruth: i didn't learn the stretches from youtube, but i bet i could have i found this page helpful, http://www.movingintostillness.com/book/asana_padmasana.html and on top of the regimen there, i did pigeon stretches and deep lunges to work my psoas the stretch i focused the most on, was just sitting with my right leg (which is flexible from years of sitting half and quarter lotus) down, knee on the ground, and bringing my left foot up into the right hip area and just putting my left hand on my left knee and working it down very gently and slowly. If i didn't do any other stretches, i would do that one every day. At first the knee was angled upwards, then gradually it was level, and now it goes down. It doesn't go down to a stable half-lotus on the other side yet, but it goes down far enough that i can sit in full lotus. If i push on it after a couple minutes stretching i can touch the ground, but it pops up so i can't sit lefty half-lotus. The whole process has actually gotten me inspired to learn yoga! A friend of mine taught me sun salute and some raja yoga asanas and breathing in exchange for some qigong basics. Now i am looking to learn and practice more! He kept saying "breath of fire" and i thought he was saying "breath-ifier" like "now do the breath-ifier"... i was like what kind of new age crap is this?!? hahaha then i got it

thank you mark! I have been sitting in it each day Sometimes up to 20 minutes or so, sometimes 10 or 15, but my left ankle is finally starting to loosen up and stretch out. thank you for your advice, i will take my time with it.

If the Universe gives you the power & authority to destroy this old world so that a new, better world can be reborn..
konchog uma replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
i'm afraid its pure conjecture, so really this thread isn't about anything to do with actually creating a better world, its about the ego mechanations of tulku. i'm with joeblast, its a preposterous question. It takes time and energy to think about but accomplishes nothing, except gives tulku either the idea that "yes people agree with me!" or "no they don't agree with me!" which really just revolves around tulku, and not on the reality of actually making the world better. -
well 9x9=81, and i think the narrator was talking about 9 variations on each of the 9 kuji, but i don't know anything about that. The set he was using started with retsu, but ended with zen. So i have NO idea what he was really talking about.. i have never seen kuji-in done like that. I don't like ashida kim. I did like that aloha video.
-
interesting yes, those kuji are almost totally different ashida kim, i don't know glad you liked it edit: thinking about it, i doubt that thats ashida kim, because he teaches a different kuji system, the more traditional mudras, in his books.
-
weird kuji evidently i forgot how to embed a video. thats frustrating. but this link is great

thank you so much UTI! kuji-in has done so much to heal me and improve my life too, i feel blessed to be able to share it. I have been practicing the dreaming meditation that UTI taught, and it is a really awesome one! It has opened me up to new dimensions of practice and to healing allies and new kinds of light. Completely great. Thanks and blessings UTI!! you are also awesome! Now i am also totally inspired to regain the lucid dreaming ground that i lost when i picked up the cannabis! I keep putting it off, but i am going to do it! Thanks for the practice, for the inspiration, and thanks to thelerner for starting this thread too

some schools teach jing = semen essence, and most schools teach jing = marrow/kidney essence, and what joeblast said about hormones and catalyst is awesome. But the most awesome thing i think is what my qigong teacher (ch'an buddhist) said about jing which is that the physical body is jing. All of it IS jing essence, like energy vibrating in the phase state of organic matter is jing. So there's that. Different folks focus on different aspects of jing so you might get different answers!

I didn't know that about anemia. I thought that was an iron issue. Maybe they were eating the wrong vegetables... leafy greens like spinach and kale are packed with iron. Thanks for the thoughtful response, although since i consider eating meat an action, i feel i risk falling into the dumb-as-dirt category, so i'll just keep my mouth shut.

not at all. But in general terms, i (think i) notice a difference. I eat fish, and i also try not to condescend people! hahaahha maybe there is no way to tell big into self testing.. i have tried all kinds of things, no grains, wheat free, dairy free, no milk, vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, raw foods, low carb, etc. i eat mostly raw fruit&veggies with some fish and i am considering doing away with the fish but i need to learn more i think. I am not sure if i eat it cause i love the taste, or if my body actually benefits from complex animal proteins. I think its the former. thanks for the book recommendation. I finished The Little Book of Hercules btw, and want to say THANK YOU for that.. you are wonderful
-
no, but im losing interest rapidly. you sure come off that way for someone who isn't trying to condescend people. i didn't know anyone needed to eat meat for health. I have never seen that science so i am saying i am ignorant thats all. I don't believe the blood type diet info, i have read strong and convincing criticism of those ideas. Why do some people need to eat meat for health? i eat 95% organic and %100 GMO free. aaand um those vegetables get fed to animals so theres no difference between veggies and meat in that regard. Maybe a different thread would be the best place to address that. One on organic food, and pesticide free food, not vegetarianism as such. Thats probably why nobody has addressed it. maybe instead of condescending the word i was looking for was just "rude" or "impatient". Anyway i wasnt referring to the idea that deer and cows and other animals will take over if the world goes veggie. I meant that i have never seen proper information about what eating meat does For a persons health. What is healthful about meat? Again, why do you think some people should eat meat, from a health perspective, not an overpopulation perspective? Why do you think so many holy books and sages of religions (hebrew, shaivite, bible, buddhist, etc... there are probably 5x as many that i can't think of) recommend against eating it if it bleeds? Why do you think that so many wise people have actually drawn this correlation that you decry between ones diet and ones spirituality or vibrational state?
-
i can definitely notice a difference between the attitudes of the vegetarian proponents and the attitude of meat-eaters in this thread. and ya mu, you might even be right in a factual sense, but to me your condescending attitude says more about eating flesh than your facts and statistics. perhaps though, you could tell us Why some people need to eat meat, instead of just stating that they do and then mocking everyone who disagrees?
-
hahaaha interesting... now that we have 140% of the vegetables, we should be able to feed all those starving people! i wish well i can't really comment on that, but thanks for your input.

Number of people worldwide who will die as a result of malnutrition this year: 20 million Number of people who could be adequately fed using land freed if Americans reduced their intake of meat by 10%: 100 million Percentage of corn grown in the US eaten by people: 20 Percentage of corn grown in the US eaten by livestock: 80 Percentage of oats grown in the US eaten by livestock: 95 Percentage of protein wasted by cycling grain through livestock: 90 How frequently a child dies as a result of malnutrition: every 2 point 3 seconds Pounds of potatoes that can be grown on an acre: 40,000 Pounds of beef produced on an acre: 250 Percentage of US farmland devoted to beef production: 56 Pounds of grain and soybeans needed to produce a pound of edible flesh from feedlot beef: 16 also, with that percentage of corn grown in the US eaten by livestock stat, keep in mind that thats mostly Monstanto Roundup Ready GMO corn with a superhigh level of pesticide neurotoxins present in it. So thats one more strike against meat. Here's an article called "statistics on why food pesticides are dangerous to your health": http://howtoeliminatepain.com/pesticides/statistics-on-why-food-pesticides-are-so-dangerous-to-your-health/

Friend i have no freaking clue what you just said but it sounded awesome when i read it sounds like an H.P. Lovecraft barbeque or something! yes you are what you eat!
-
yeah there are probably ten uses for it that would make the world a better place! i just don't know any of them. i wasn't implying that there weren't any tho... i think in squiggly lines and doodles
-
mdonalds, taco bell (TACO BELL!), and burger king rejected it. I really am not sure theres a good use for it. Too bad if they lose money, they are profiteering gluttons to even try to sell pink slime in the first place.
-
i don't really recommend anyone eat that stuff. Maybe its just for the garbage. i dunno. If there is a good use for it, i don't know it.
-
Dedicated to the rest of us: http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/pink_slime/ sign this petition and ask the USDA to stop feeding ammoniated pink slime "meat" to kids.

congratulations, your style of writing here seems much less smarmy and demeaning than usual. I hope its a sign of spiritual or emotional progress. Blessings to you. I don't think tao can be understood. Not in a logical, linear, left-brained sense. It can be experienced, but that entails a lot more than some intellectualism or understanding. My idea of enlightenment is that of a whole-body transformation. One's energies must be free and one's mind must be supremely tranquil in order to experience with the totality of ones being, the moment as-it-is. This entails not superimposing any intellect or understanding on it more than it entails "understanding the tao". You can't really understand the tao, all the enlightened teachers are clear about that. You can only experience it when you have dropped everything else and cleansed and purified your body so that you can maintain that state of apprehension.
