  2. What Is Non-Duality ?

nice post jetsun osho relates a couple good meditations, like the clear sky meditation (from Only One Sky) where one pictures passing thoughts as clouds and lets them float past. Good for me cause im a visual thinker so having imagery to work with rather than just the idea of "letting thoughts float past" helped me at one point. And i have done other osho meditations but my take on it was that he never invented a good meditation he just passed on some classic meditations. i went through an osho phase but as soon as i saw him on video in front of his followers the spark died. Gurus seem to rarely be able to get over themselves.
  3. My Little Pony

sorry i don't have seven minutes of my life to give to my little pony. But thanks!
  4. My Little Pony

yah i am not man enough for all that pony action that is for heroes and warriors hahahah i had no idea it was popular with men over 40. Like gay men? or just "men"? and where?!? What kind of 40 year old man has nothing better to do with his life than watch my little pony? I am saddened
  5. My Little Pony

I don't think there's much to say MH. After I watched it, my mind was devoid of anything too. I think its like a zen riddle that's designed to propel the viewer into profound inner silence or something. Wait i just had my first thought! When I was a kid those things were for girls. My how times change. "you guys wanna get a six pack and watch strawberry shortcake at my place?" "dude hells to the yess!" "awww jeah!!"
  6. Hot Tea

Rehmannia Dong Quai Eleuthero Fo Ti Tien Pau D'Arco Astragalus Reishi Mushroom Ginseng (Chinese) boiled for 1 hr I brew a gallon at a time and bottle it for the next 2 weeks. I'm going to add cordyceps and maybe some other mushrooms to it when i place my next order with mountainroseherbs.com... any of you have experience with different fungii? Any recommendations?? I am curious about chaga and cordyceps, but open to any advice about it
  7. Wheat, small LDL particles and Heart disease

the PDF version of Daniel Reid's The Tao of Health Sex and Longevity that i have is a mess of a scan, and i can't search it for words because my PDF program can't make sense of the fuzzy letters and lopsided pages. I looked through it and found reference to Chia Ming's Essential Knowledge for Eating and Drinking written in 1368 I also found something that confuses me, that "the ancient Taoist writings on health and longevity we find the words Bi-gu or 'avoid grains' cropping up over and over" (p.57) but i was under the impression that bigu was chinese for "fasting". ??? can anyone clarify this? Thanks. So i don't know what the Essenes were putting in their bread, but they at it at breakfast and meat at dinner, so at least they weren't mixing their carbs and proteins
  8. Wheat, small LDL particles and Heart disease

Well I eat a lot of rice, last night it was quinoa, the night before, millet. Last night in some soup i mixed up based on fingerling potatoes and brussel sprouts with black beans and corn etc (even a little jalapeno sausage in the mix). The quinoa the night before, in that sweet potato soup i posted the PDF recipe of on TTB last week (still eating the same first batch of it! ). Rice i quite often make a thai curry to eat with (mae ploy curry paste, coconut milk, basil, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, veggies and meats!) I try to curry what is seasonal and local, so the last one i made had winter squash as its main ingredient. So you can see a pattern here, i like to eat grains in some kind of soupy or liquidy coating, but thats in the winter. In the summer I might be more inclined to steam or saute some veggies, or to get my grill on. I am big on the seasonal thing. Basically, eating wheat free means no eating breads. When my lady love and i are really craving some kind of sandwichy something, we eat mexican with corn tortillas, usually at a restaurant we like (good mexican food is limited where i live but its out there). When you stop eating breads, you start to eat a lot more salads. Thats what dinner tonight is gonna be. a HUGE salad... my girlfriend makes these monster organic salads; that is one of her meditations, just chopping onions and radishes and veggies finely and washing the lettuce etc. She makes a no-recipe dressing thats different each night... last time it was based on tahini, olive oil, miso, and lemon juice. So if you want to go wheat free, start eating salads is my advice. Just make a meal out of a huge salad. Even at the co-op or whole foods where the salad bar is organic and 6.99 a lb, i can make a monster salad for less than $10 if i am careful about the weight of the stuff i put in it. My body loves me so much more when i do this.. As to your last question, i don't really bake much. Takes too much time, and i am not keen on recipes. I worked at a local gluten-free bakery and learned a lot about how to do it all, making good breads and pastries with tapioca/potato/rice flour, and my turnovers and tarts are grrreat, but i don't have the patience to do that. If i have 45 minutes to bake and 30 min to clean up after myself, i would rather meditate for 1hr 15min than make turnovers hahahah too much sugar in all that stuff too, and i really don't care a fig about bread.
  9. Wheat, small LDL particles and Heart disease

Neat info. I'm wheat free. I've heard that the ancient Chinese medical classics on diet all say avoid grains (ba gu?) over and over again. Has anyone ever tried living on vegetables w/out grains? or vegetables and meats but no grains? Thats one diet i haven't tried.
  10. giving away Pillars of Bliss

who wants my copy of Pillars of Bliss? don't PM me, just answer here. i'll PM the first person who responds and get your address. and before the ruckus starts, no i didn't see nagas, i just don't like kunlun, my intuition and every other guide in my life has told me to stop.
  11. giving away Pillars of Bliss

    you're welcome!
  12. Wild Goose, the healer form

i think the CTs pointing out the flaws in your so-called logic is very useful. I also think I would rather stay here and do nothing than read your outrageous posts about bigotry and churchianity. I think that people who post incendiary opinions on little factual basis deserve to have their logic and accuracy questioned, and if you're going to get yourself in such a tight churchian knot about it, you should just post on churchian forums about church approved topics to people who will never argue with you. Why don't you go do that and leave us poor bums alone!? btw you obviously have a huge mouth and haven't worked hard enough on your zazen to respect those of different opinions, life paths, or sexual orientations than yourself! HA! sit on that for a while
  13. Wild Goose, the healer form

well, you see, it has come to light that Seth Ananda is actually baphomet, and that he is mixing his yin and yang energy, which will turn him into a homosexual satanic whore! but jesus loves us and thats all that really matters

  16. Wild Goose, the healer form

thats a cool point steve i personally would rather be naturally happy in my heart and able to share that with other living creatures than be an asshole who can move objects with my mind or cause rainstorms etc.
  17. Wild Goose, the healer form

much yes glad we can talk like grown ups about it
  18. Wild Goose, the healer form

oh i know more than one healer who wouldn't hesitate to call bullshit upon some bullshit the moment said bullshit was smelt I'm not defending Hundun's remarks directly, that is for him to do. But CT I think its not so good to idealize healers as being beyond the human condition or having a cantankerous personality. I think taomeow just a couple days ago posted a story about going to a healer who berated her wildly in his native language while doing energy work and she said she would go back every day if she could. Well I could be wrong about it being taomeow but I read that on TTB this week. my point is, healers aren't saints just because they can manifest healing energy. Whats more, healing energy comes in all forms, and sometimes, it can take the form of calling a spade a spade right to that spade's face. It isn't pretty to watch in most cases, but it can still lead to greater wholeness on the part of the spade.

settler you shouldn't write posts that are so opinionated if you're going to act rude when people disagree. Just accept that some people are going to disagree with you no matter what you think and be a man about it, not a baby. The tone of your posts is the worst thing about this thread to me. Thanks.

  24. ILLUSION

i think we all view things as our senses dictate. But what gives you confidence that your senses are not deceived by illusion? As we learn about the world we live in via the sciences we see a lot of the illusory nature of reality. Look at atoms for example! My ass should pass right through this chair but it doesnt! Not because either are solid, but because of magnetic and electromagnetic force! Well i have to go eat so i can get to the theater on time so i'll leave it at that. I can never prove to you anything about your experience with words on an internet forum. Search deeply the issue for yourself, and you will see evidence of the illusion of reality on many levels!! This is not what it looks like
