Yes. As i grow more whole, or more powerful (depending on how you want to look at it), it gets more pronounced. Last time i got in a really bad mood, i got rear-ended in traffic. The time before that I almost ran someone over cause they ran right out in front of my car. I know, i should just walk when i'm in a bad mood, right? When i'm in a good mood, the world opens up for me and all kinds of blessed things happen. Thats why i pray every day, just thanks, not asking for anything, just anchoring myself in gratitude and respect for life. Without thinking of the rewards or consequences of gratitude, i just know that life takes care of me. But the responsibility to keep my own vibration healthy and elevated seems to be a prerequisite.
  2. Chuang Tzu Chapter 3, Section B

Victor Mair "Wandering on the Way: Taoist Tales and Parables" When His Honor Decorated Chariot saw the Right Instructor he was startled and said, "Who is that man? Why is he so odd? Is it due to nature or to man?" Someone said, "Nature made him this way, not man . Nature's engenderment causes things to be unique . Human appearances are endowed. That's how I know it's due to nature, not man. The marsh pheasant has to take ten steps before it finds some- thing to pick at and has to take a hundred steps before it gets a drink. But the pheasant would prefer not to be raised in a cage where, though you treat it like a king, its spirit would not thrive. When Old Longears died, Idle Intruder went to mourn over him. He wailed three times and left. "Weren't you a friend of the master?" a disciple asked him. "Yes." "Well, is it proper to mourn him like this?" "Yes. At first, I used to think of him as a man, but now I no longer do. Just now when I went in to mourn him, there were old people crying over him as though they were crying for one of their own sons. There were youngsters crying over him as though they were crying for their own mother. Among those whom he had brought together, surely there were some who wished not to speak but spoke anyway, who wished not to cry but cried anyway. This is to flee from nature while redoubling human emotion, thus forgetting what we have received from nature. This was what the ancients called `the punishment of fleeing from nature.' By chance the master's coming was timely, and by chance his going was favorable. One who is situated in timeliness and who dwells in favorableness cannot be affected by joy or sorrow. This is what the ancients called 'the emancipation of the gods.' " Resins may be consumed when they are used for fuel, but the fire they transmit knows no end .

Right, the cook wasn't just some spiritual master at whatever he did, first he spent time looking at the ox with his eyes and cutting it like every other butcher, in other words he had training before it sunk in to the spiritual level. So everyone knows what they know, and they can know just enough and know it really well, but they can't know everything (or even come close). I think that is a key to contentment.
  4. oh i think you're right on Aaron tulku needs to stop playing baby games and address life on life's terms, and no amount of coddling is going to encourage him to do it. I find his bullshit as annoying and selfish as you do. The irony is that the expression of his selfishness is so egotistical that he ends up being what he despises so vigorously in post after post. ..after post.. etc. I see it all as a cry for attention too, and sometimes compassion means skillful means, or the appropriate reaction to the situation, not just pity and sympathy. Sometimes it means a nice big cup of hot steaming truth is what a person needs to drink, instead of the negative attention they are trolling for. The sad thing about it is that tulku seems to feel that negative attention is better than no attention at all. If he would apply his vigorous zeal to practice and insight, instead of posting incendiary topics here in some desperate plea for attention, he would probably have something worth saying after a while. And the silence in between him saying it and his saying the last thing he said would probably give it a lot more weight! But instead its five posts a day, each of them worse than the last. I pray for his peace just like everyone else who cares, but i'm all for the bitter medicine. You don't bother me with it one bit.
  5. Chuang Tzu Chapter 3, Section A

i think its good that ZZ isn't easy to get in a heartbeat but you have to think about it a lot We are limited, knowledge is not. So its like he is saying we can't know everything, its impossible. But people who know a lot inevitably think they know everything. He is saying, to me, that even thinking we know SOMEthing is fallacy, just be happy knowing what you know and don't chase knowledge like an addict, thats dangerous. Its dangerous because like any other addiction it will never really fulfill a person just drain them. I know i'm extrapolating, he doesn't mention addiction or anything, but that is my take on it all the same. In short, what we can know is next to nothing compared to all knowledge, so like he says in the second part of that section, just stay close to the center and don't lean to extremes, live simply and contentedly, thats worth more than thirst for knowledge. i can't really improve on what he said with my own explanation, but he says it clear as day. I tried a little but probably just obscure the point more... maybe if you come back to it later it will just jump out at you!

from Victor Mair's "Wandering on the Way: Taoist Tales and Parables" Our lives are limited, But knowledge is limitless. To pursue the limitless With the limited Is dangerous. Such being the case, if one still goes after knowledge, One's life will definitely be in danger. In doing good, approach not fame In doing bad, approach not punishment. Follow the central artery as conduit, And you can preserve your body, Maintain your life, Nourish your inmost viscera, And complete your allotted years. A cook was cutting up an ox for Lord Wenhui. Wherever His hand touched, His shoulder leaned, His foot stepped, His knee nudged, the flesh would fall away with a swishing sound. Each slice of the cleaver was right in tune, zip zap! He danced in rhythm to "The Mulberry Grove" moved in concert with the strains of "The Managing Chief." "Ah, wonderful!" said Lord Wenhui, "that skill can attain such heights!" The cook put down his cleaver and responded, "What your servant loves is the Way, which goes beyond mere skill. When I first began to cut oxen, what I saw was nothing but whole oxen. After three years, I no longer saw whole oxen . Today, I meet the ox with my spirit rather than looking at it with my eyes. My sense organs stop functioning and my spirit moves as it pleases. In accord with the natural grain, I slice at the great crevices, lead the blade through the great cavities. Following its inherent structure, I never encounter the slightest obstacle even where the veins and arteries come together or where the ligaments and tendons join, much less from obvious big bones. A good cook changes his cleaver once a year because he chops . An ordinary cook changes his cleaver once a month because he hacks. Now I've been using my cleaver for nineteen years and have cut up thousands of oxen with it, but the blade is still as fresh as though it had just come from the grindstone. Between the joints there are spaces, but the edge of the blade has no thickness. Since I am inserting something without any thickness into an empty space, there will certainly be lots of room for the blade to play around in. That's why the blade is still as fresh as though it had just come from the grindstone . Nonetheless, whenever I come to a compli- cated spot and see that it will be difficult to handle, I cautiously restrain myself, focus my vision, and slow my motion. With an imperceptible movement of the cleaver, plop! and the flesh is already separated, like a clump of earth collapsing to the ground. I stand there holding the cleaver in my hand, look all around me with complacent satisfaction, then I wipe off the cleaver and store it away!" " Wonderful!" said Lord Wenhui. "From hearing the words of the cook, I have learned how to nourish life!"
  7. thanks michael, i guess i should have said "i have read that the spirits who govern death" or "it is said that.." or something. From my own personal experience i have only been in the light once in an AWEsome near death experience, and it was so peaceful, and full of unconditional love and acceptance without question, that maybe even tulku could not help but feel calm and at peace there. So that was indeed conjecture, although i tend to doubt that consciousness is a physical phenomenon that dies when the body does, that too is conjecture from a certain point of view. I guess we all just have our gut instincts and maybe teachings to follow on the subject, so let leave it at that! i might point out good sir that you saying that any other living being has a simple off switch might be conjecture as well. Maybe dogs do go to heaven! Some people say that everything has a spirit and that this spirit is neither created or destroyed but just transmutates to different form between lifetimes, so who really knows?
  8. "Spirit" - what is it?

the link is a great thread, thanks!
  9. yeah. My first thought was that the person who tried to convince you of the seperation stig was just learning. Cause when you learn, you learn in a more seperated way. But when they progress to the point of martial application i guarantee they will integrate their movements into one thing "wait my foot goes here then my arm..." *WAP!!*

  11. Third Eye

nice to read, thanks. I am doing tincture of cilantro with chlorella tabs right now.. although you only do it for a week at a time, and my week is almost up. For anyone looking into heavy metal detoxing, read up on it first, you can do a lot for yourself with some inexpensive supplements, but if you do it wrong, you will not get the metals removed physically from the body, they will just enter the bloodstream and make you sick and depressed and then lodge back in the organs and tissues (like the pineal ) so do your homework. Also to anyone interested, don't drink tap water if its fluoridated, fluoride is a biproduct of industrial processes and is definitely harmful to the body. It doesn't even make a difference in tooth decay, as numerous studies show, but for various reasons it is still put into our water supply. Interestingly enough, most of the fluoride in american water comes from china! hahaha not funny tho. The pineal is actually full of light receptors (rods and cones) with a lens that looks upward, and can turn 90 degrees but not look downward. So it is literally a 3rd eye, stuck in the dark, it seems to be sensitive to subtle radiations and frequencies like starlight and cosmic radiations of that sort. Maybe that explains the homing pidgeon phenomenon. Who knows. But the pineal is a really intersting organ! In many ways the 3rd eye has to do with pineal being able to process subtle radiations so this isnt something you "see" so much as just an awareness like a silent knowledge to put it in other words. And in many ways, exercising the ajna chakra will result in the spirit being able to perceive along with the physical eyes, so you might see energy or get clues to thing if you gaze at them without focusing. You might be able to read peoples energies much easier or even see the colors of their aura, whatever thats worth. Its different for everyone in that each persons energies will work differently, so one person with an awakened ajna chakra will still see different manifestations of that openness than another. More important than seeing energy is opening the wisdom eye which allows one to understand non-duality and the teachings of the sages. When the wisdom eye is open, appearances will cease to have the hold on consciousness that they have before. One will experience newfound freedom as the world of forms loses its importance and becomes as it truly is, transitory and ultimately, illusory. So this is really way more important than knowing if the person youre gazing at has good energy or bad energy etc.
  12. first i would quit complaining about the state of the world and of people in general. If my attitude sucked as bad as yours does, i would be really concerned that that sort of pettiness wouldn't bring desirable results in the hereafter. The spirits that govern death are serious and ruthless and don't have time for the crap you have so much time for. Focus on the immediate essentials of your life and let the rest be part of the divine plan, its meaning and purpose doesnt have to be known to you. That is a spiritual practice. emptiness meditation is great too.
  13. "Spirit" - what is it?

Even most masters won't say much about spirit or shen cause they don't fully understand it. So take what you hear here with a grain of salt or seven... I won't even begin to pretend i know anything about spirit, although i know what people say about spirit in a couple different systems, i also know that i shouldn't try to say anything about it. But how did i know that? with intuition? so maybe that is spirit. Or maybe its the chili i ate for lunch. who can say, not me

  16. Mt. Shasta

I highly recommend a night at the underground pleasure palace to cap your skiing weekend. but can not really recommend being abducted by aliens, as it is difficult to ski after being anally probed "this isn't the anus we've been looking for" "*grumble*" "next!"
  17. giving away Pillars of Bliss

seriously. for what its worth, the best part of kunlun is available other places, like from Sifu Jenny Lamb, whos approach to spontaneous movement i highly recommend. www.easterninternalarts.com i don't personally think you're missing out on anything vital. Stick with your shen gong and horse stance work, seriously. Don't sweat kunlun. just my 2 cents
  18. giving away Pillars of Bliss

its already gone, to someone i was already PMing damn that was fast
  19. lower dantian theory by Damo Mitchell

That is cool, thanks.. i don't really care if the thread stays PRECISELY on topic, but thats just me. These things have a mind of their own! I have been rotating the LDT forward (one rotation per in/out breath) with success. Hahah it made me poop! It feels nice, and I've been meaning to sit and do a wind channel meditation with backwards rotation of LDT but i haven't yet. Damo writes that one needn't focus on all the meridians and channels to clear blockages that takes too long and is too involved for most people anyway. He says just turn the LDT and the energy will circulate vigorously through the system and clear obstructions. He gives a couple other "fulcrum" techniques where you just use one technique to affect the whole system. I have 5 pages left and then the Conclusion chapter to read. I have realized that by studying meditation and working with orbits i have been doing qigong, and if nei gong is just internal work, then i have been doing nei gong too. But only little foundational stuff compared to the awesome amount of practices out there. So in a way i am beginner and in a way i am more experienced than that, but it doesnt matter, i only say that to give some idea where i am so when i say this book is totally awesome, you know where i am coming from. So that being said, this book is totally awesome, go read it. I think unless you are really advanced and open (in which case you will know that you don't need it) you should read it. It is really helping me. Like the five virtues of the wu xing.. never heard that before! always knew about the 5 movements of energy and their emotional expressions but those can be converted or transmuted into 5 virtues expressions of the elements element emotion virtue ````````````````````````````````` fire mania/joy contentment earth worry love/empathy metal sadness courage/conviction water fear/paranoia clarity wood anger patience he gives good instruction on how the heart-mind manifests both positively and negatively and what to do with those emotional vibrations in order to progress towards wholeness and even enlightenment. He is clear that he doesn't consider himself enlightened btw but he does talk about enlightenment a little. Oh well i'm cheerleading, hahaha i can see why Daniel Reid wrote the promo blurb on the back cover tho.
  20. you're just saying that cause now you're convinced that you're going to die. cheer up! life's as good or bad as we choose to see it as!
  21. Oh Fuck Yeah! Get Laid or Die Trying, BITCH!

it has more to do with perceiving your arguments as being immature condescending and presumptuous. I have no interest in talking to you about it, thats all. I'm not even trying to argue, just talking about my perception of NLP seduction coaches. Theres a big difference between discussion and argument. BTW we live in the real world, everything is dual, everything has poles. Oneness is wonderful blather but it doesn't apply to the common sense difference between beneficial and detrimental, respectful and disrespectful, etc. Until you figure this out, you have no right getting holier-than-thou with me about how i'm enslaved by duality. Don't presume to know what people have realized, you make yourself sound like an ass. fyi if you need to have the last word, feel free to respond, but this is my last post in this thread.
  22. Oh Fuck Yeah! Get Laid or Die Trying, BITCH!

hahahaha like i said, i'm done talking about it.
  23. Oh Fuck Yeah! Get Laid or Die Trying, BITCH!

you sound brainwashed.. look out for those NLP types they'll getcha its a very broadly covered topic. Use a search engine, like i advised. But i gave you two specific recommendations, you just chose to ignore them and make a reply out of what you could make a contentious point out of. Tao of Health Sex and Longevity is a gem that could change your life, but if you would rather nitpick about minutiae, be my guest. i'm not going to get into any further conversation with you, since you seem to think that claiming that any point of view you don't like is "spin", and claiming that NLP seduction techniques can teach you to actually listen appreciate and respect a woman. You're on your own with that line of thinking. No need to respond, I've said everything that was on my mind and now i'm done talking about it.
  24. Oh Fuck Yeah! Get Laid or Die Trying, BITCH!

you seem convinced of the value of the pickup gurus so i'm not going to argue with you. You're welcome to your opinion. If you think being spontaneous and being contrived are the same thing, who am i to tell you otherwise. My point was really that there is just a creepy approach, a vibe that pervades all those teachings that isn't respectful at all. It speaks for itself, so i don't really need to. If you don't get creeped out by that stuff, thats your karma if you want to practice it. Best luck to you.
