Fun conversation from www.gnostic-community.org

Dogma generally stands between seekers and what they seek. So, of course (duh) does bigotry. And lumping sexual deviants (read: those whose behaviors the dogmatic and bigoted disapprove of) in with alcoholics is just nonsense. Thats a misrepresentation of the truth. Alcoholism is one thing, and its a bad thing. SCJ might advocate that we all just stop spilling our seed so we can become one with God, but that can be dangerous for most people. Like most manifestations of repression. And as to the whole homosexual thing, thats just bigotry. Doggerel, nonsense, the kind of pseudo-religious hogwash that I would expect to find in other forums, but surprised to see on TTB. Don't expect to convince me that homos aren't allowed in any "authentic" traditions just cause you say so, thats BS pure and stinky. There are traditions of spirituality and cultivation that allow gay men and women into their ranks. Get serious. The marks of spiritual achievement are acceptance, tolerance, openmindedness, moderation, etc. I have no idea where youre coming from SCJ but it sounds closedminded in the extreme. -

hehehe source of all power? how can you talk about that?! very little to say (but i'm not a daoist master) qi floats around.. but people can seal their leakages and so forth if thats what you mean. the present moment is the manifestation of this ultimate source you are liking so much heheh but i'm not sure if the source is the present moment itself. Qi is self originating i think, it just is. Its life energy so you are asking where does life energy come from... hahah life itself, is is is, im with TzuJanLi your questions are pointless and silly. No insult meant. Focus on more immediate things like achievable goals. Make small progress every day, and if you are meant to achieve union with dao or find the mysterious and excellent source of all ultimate power, that will happen of its own accord. But you have to put one foot in front of the other one at a time or you will trip so small steps. who doesnt?! hahaha but if you ask more realistic questions you will get more realistic answers

big up fermented foods! gonna go drink a kombucha now -
they are both transcendental concepts, neither of which it would benefit us to talk about at great length since their scope is quite beyond the limits of language and logic. if in my understanding they are overlapping concepts, moreorless synonymous, and in your understanding, two entirely different things, that is fine. I know better than to debate the nature of either with anyone. also, i say thing for lack of a fitting word. Again, i don't think there IS a fitting word. my point was moreso that the source of life does not care what name you address it by, or whether you see it as personal creator or transpersonal wellspring of energy, or anything else. In my observation, it responds to all those who invoke it regardless of creed or belief system.

seek to have power over yourself and your reactions, not to have power over others or life itself. Everyone has a right to personal power in life, it can be used for beneficial things.

Just an initial reaction, the 10 qigong exercises seem to have a nice internal consistancy and they are unique to any other set i have seen. I think i will do them daily hahaah but thats only cause ive been dreaming of Sifu Jenny The spontaneous movement yigong looks powerful, i got a jolt just watching her. Haven't tried it yet tho. I will tomorrow. Even the jolt i got watching her knocked something out from between my shoulderblades. wow. Opening the channels is a strange looking exercise that i can't comment on because i don't really know what to say so i will leave it at that. (I bet it opens the channels!) She does a tapping exercise that seems a lot like the "beating" in yijinjing. She has said there is a spiritual component to exercises that isn't in the DVD, but i don't know if the point is to agitate the fasciae in order to pack it with chi (like in yijinjing). It seems like one could use the exercise that way, but maybe i am misinterpreting the meaning of the exercise. there is a striking the wall with the back exercise that is neat ("neat" thats right) i dont know what else to say about it... it seems like a useful exercise, again i haven't done it so i don't know what else to say Overall the whole thing seems awesome. I watch a bunch of qigong type vids that make me think "hmmm" this makes me think i should practice it every day. No frills tho if youre looking for the fancy shmancy its not there. i'm sure my posts after i've actually practiced more than the qigong will be more informative than this post

hahaah kali yuga i am a yin person too much fire qi is not my thing maybe like ryu i will learn to SHURYUKEN HADOUKEN but not like dhalsim @everyone else: thank you for your responses, i appreciate it. I flipped through the pages i could preview on amazon and it seems well-written. I think i will give it a shot, or maybe look into his other books. on a side note, where does one draw the line between nei gong and qigong? I have read on TTB that neigong is an older term for internal cultivation and qigong is recently coined. Can anyone comment or clarify? Some neigongs are still but some move? So where is the line? Thanks!

you could go on an oatmeal and raisins diet oats have 12 of 13 aminos, they are almost complete. you won't get malnourished if you eat oats and raisins for a week. or if you take an amino suppliment, or eat braggs liquid aminos, you can do what you like (rice) -
In toltec shamanism ala Carlos Casteneda, there is a concept of doing things for the sake of doing them, not being focused on the outcome, but on investing oneself wholly in the action at hand in order to manifest the best, whatever that may be.

could be santa clause who knows!? dreams are nutty i just found the DVD at the bottom of a care package my girlfriend made me last week. Will post a little when i have watched it, I'm making a copy right now so it doesnt get scratched

i have not received the dvd yet, cool that you ordered it too i will keep you updated, i am excited about it. She was in my dream last night again, i was trapped, kidnapped by some nondescript cabal of evil chinese people who wore red and black and had me in their compound. There were egyptian style pyramids there and a lot of hitech stuff, and a general feeling of corruption and negativity throughout. They wouldnt let me go, but i kept hiding from them so they couldnt find me. After a couple days i found a small door in the back of a bathroom and as i was about to go through it, Sifu Jenny was there. I was scared cause i thought at first she was evil and they ahd finally found me but she just watched me. I went through the door and there was a crawlspace and she came through after me. In the peace of that safe place i realized i had a cell phone and as i texted my friend to say "i am kidnapped, help, tell the authorities" i woke up. It was a really long dream, it was like it wouldn't end until i gave it permission to end. btw for those interested, i am not thinking that these manifestations of Sifu Jenny are actually Sifu Jenny as she might dreamwalk or manifest according to her own free will. But i do think that they are patterns of energy that contain information that the universe is telling me, so i listen to them as such. good omens

In the Q&A on her site she acknowledges that the wild stuff happens but she encourages people not to stay stuck at the phase of spasmodic movements, to cultivate gentle movements. I see the sense in that so i'm not really looking for more.

yeah, i think it was not Her, as in she saw my name on a list of DVD orders and thought "now i must manifest to this person in dreams!" as much as it was either a subconscious part of her, or just a projection in my own dream. hahaah dreams are not logical so i do not apply logic to them. I don't pay too much attention tho so we end up agreeing

hi 5ET, i give you credit for actually going to Max and talking about this with him and conveying his message here. I am not going to take sides in the debate about what kind of tactics you should employ when confronted by criticism, but i will agree that at your level of involvement with cultivation, it's just about inevitable that someone has something negative to say. i personally feel bad about even starting that thread the way i did. Lesson learned. I would not have talked about Max that way in person if he had been in the room with me. So that is my lack of integrity, for which i apologize to you, Max, and everyone else who got caught up in that mess. I will be more careful in the future. i personally value both your posts, and your need to take your time away from TTB. I wish you a restful vacation full of blessings.

Taomeow, Thanks for your thoughts, I thought that taiji was yin and yang together as one, and that wuji was emptiness or void. Like zero. The way some teachers explain it, yin and yang are two, taiji is one, and wuji is zero. I wasn't implying that Hua Ching Ni was the definitive authority on those things, just that he had said that. Its clear that different sects and schools think different things. So naturally, that is just one opinion on the subject.

as to your link Shen Chi Jing thats absurd Pandaka translates as "eunich" "pervert" "deviant" "hermaphrodite" and a bunch of other words. That passage did not say that the buddha addressed homosexuality as such but that he made example of one singe pandaka. Use logic please. Oh wait, i forgot, you can't do that and be homophobic at the same time. who cares what the dalai lama thinks about homos? he might be talking about monastic buddhism. its impossible to tell since thats one quotation out of context, but in monasteries, homosexual sex is a problem since everyone gets so pent up. its like jail. ask any monk... heheh i bet they'll blush. who cares what the dalai lama thinks about homos anyway, use your own mind. If you have something against them, thats your problem, if the dalai lama has something against them, thats his problem. I think the whole issue is ridiculous, some people are gay, deal with it. Morality has nothing to do with homosexuality.
