  1. Kunlun:4 Years later

ditto. that is really helpful, thanks in the sense that kan and li are a yinyang pair, its misleading to say "this is a water path" or "that is a fire path", especially for experienced practitioner. But in the sense that there are generalities to consider and that scales tend to tip one way or the other, maybe those distinctions can be helpful, especially to beginners. i have been experimenting with upward flowing energies in the morning, and downward in the afternoon. So i switched my meditations which could be called "fire" to AM and "water" to PM. I have been focused on counterclockwise movement in the AM and clockwise in the PM. isnt balance the true daoist ideal?
  2. Smarty smarts

I think your posts are super dumb!
  3. The Thrusting Vessel

is the thrusting vessel a straight line? Does it go up the taiji pole? Thanks for clarification. I find some of the pictures i am looking at confusing, and the descriptions overcomplicated.
  4. The Thrusting Vessel

My qigong teacher says it goes up the spinal column, not the inside of the spine or a straight line. He said governing vessel moves just under the skin, thrusting vessel moves up the spinal column itself. But I have been starting to open my macrocosmic orbit, which is pretty great! I have gained a tactile awareness of my whole body in a way that wasn't there before I started doing MaCO work, so i assume I'm making progress! :D further bulletins as events warrant
  5. DNA Evidence Rocks the Boat

did anyone ever f*ing care how SEXIST the pic was? or is that just not an issue? i'm really curious
  6. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Thank you Sifu Terry, Having ordered the standing meditations video (volume one) because of your recommendation to go in order, I see that they are not really like nei kung, just very slow chi kung. I am working in the evenings with monk gazes at moon, and bending the bow. I will look at the recommended reading list on taichimania. Again, I really appreciate your responses. Thank you!
  7. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Sifu Dunn, Thank you for your response. That is what I thought I had read, but there was some commentary lately that just made me want to ask, to double check. Reading this thread is no obstacle at all, I have read all 60+ pages before I asked the question. It was an honor to see your professionalism and patience with students while I was waiting for my DVDs. I simply could not remember what page the answer to my question was on, and I got a little confused by some things that other people were saying. I thank you for taking the time to answer.
  8. DNA Evidence Rocks the Boat

haha i think that the picture is OBviously afrocentric and points to the superiority of the black man since the meditteranean man ??? in that pic looks like another african! so there are 2 africans for every other race which is totally RACIST and I4L posted it on this site, which, according to daoist philosophy, accords the highest "virtue" to the lowest position! So the two black men are more virtuous than the others! oh surrrre RACIST also the white guy is totally surrounded by people of color, which makes white people really nervous! maybe those other guys are sick of colonial expansion and are gonna kick that honkies ass! WHOA thats inappropriate so chill out taooneusa youre misinterpreting things
  9. Sex and Karma

I think like most things balance is key to the love/lust dichotomy. I like what harmonious emptiness brought up about "moderate lust". That is good general advice. There will always be extreme trainings and methods like those employed by renunciates, and some of them might never want to leak essence or even dare that their vagina lips part lest some qi leak out! lol but for most people lust is natural, and tantra advocates mastering it by accepting it if i am not mistaken. So in short i think lust without love is empty and dangerous, and love without lust is kinda like what i feel for my grandmother, and not really appropriate to a sexual relationship. @walrus & qlan xie: i hope you folks are really careful and respectful of the people and energies you come across on your path, because your viewpoints do not reflect balance in my opinion. Hehe some books are actually worth reading walrus, and do contain truth. But then again, im a "reader" so i'm biased. Just be careful is all i'm saying. Left hand paths are *notoriously* dangerous, whether you want to believe that or not.
  10. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello Sifu Dunn, I just received my Chi Kung for Health flying phoenix DVDs, and before I start learning the basic standing and sitting meditation, I was wondering, is it ok to practice Flying Phoenix and also practice other qigong? I am not talking about mixing them, just wondering if there are any constraints? I do Yang Jwing-Ming's four seasons qigong, and also a muscle/tendon changing set every day. I hope the energies I might build doing Flying Phoenix will help those sets to soften and mature. If this is a common question or one that you have already addressed to others, I appologize. I searched but didnt find anything, and the thread is too long to read over at this point!! Thank you.
  11. General Information

    i just might! splendid idea!
  12. What are you listening to?

I just wanted to see "swamp pop" twice haha three times
  13. General Information

Oh how exciting! I would like to recommend the translation by sinologist Victor Mair as being one of my favorites. Has anyone else read Mair? I haven't seen him mentioned so far, but I think he captures the spirit of the stories very well.
  14. What are you listening to?

i have been listening to a lot of Roma Di Luna lately they are a husband/wife duo with an 8-piece band from Minneapolis MN that has an awesome brand of folk music hope you enjoy it as much as i do
  15. The Thrusting Vessel

thanks snowmonki, for the time being, i am just working with it being "in my middle" so to speak, or kind of following the inside of my spine.
  16. 30 minute 30 day mentorships

I have started to mentor Hot Nirvana Judo Trend in kuji-in. So i am always available to any bum who wants to PM me about it to talk or ask questions, but i am not able to respond to any more mentoring requests at this time. Thanks everyone.
  17. Fasting Weekly

Hi OldGreen, i wouldn't fast for 2 days a week. Your body might get a little shocked and have some unpleasant reactions.. i think that represents too much gusto for fasting. I am glad you had good results, but i would recommend at most fasting 3 days out of every 2 weeks at first, and building up to 4 and 5 day fasts as you feel comfortable doing so. i would also recommend eating more vegetable and fruit content in those 2 weeks, and as much pesticide and preservative free food as you can. This generality includes growth hormones and all manner of pollutants. If you can eat 50% raw food for that 2 weeks thats awesome! Remember to "eat down" to a fast, consuming less and less food for 3 days before the fast so that right before you are just eating fruits and veggies. Also, break a fast with easy to digest foods, preferably fruits (my favorite is watermelon). This will help your body not be in so much shock from fasting/eating/fasting/eating. Its also why i advise not fasting 2 days per week, cause you will need 6 days adjustment on either side of it. I speak from a good amount of experience with it, so i hope my advice is helpful! Fasting is awesome!
  18. Draw chi from sacrum into prostate.

my mistake, i hope its no problem. Just trying to help.
  19. Draw chi from sacrum into prostate.

to astralprojectee i might sound harsh, but that could be a dangerous practice, and its certainly not one that masters are known to advocate, so i advise staying away for that reason. Just because you CAN do something doesnt mean you SHould do something i respect the concentration it must take, but i think you could turn that powerful concentration to better use thats all.
  20. Draw chi from sacrum into prostate.

i would listen to joeblast and people who say that thinking to orgasm is pretty worthless practice if i were you. why deplete yourself of resource? just focus on regular meditation, which produces good chemicals of numerous kinds. i think you are falling into a trap of being enamoured of a technique but not comprehending the longterm effects of it. too much concentration and mental effort for a waste of semen! be careful. {edit} wrong thread, oops. sorry to get off topic
  21. oh my giddy gosh i forgot about couchsurfing.org! that site really works, i recommend it too

  25. Draw chi from sacrum into prostate.

you can put the qi where you wanna put the qi man for more sexual energy, massage your balls while doing the microcosmic orbit but don't do that with your thumb up your ass! hahaahha
