Tense body, tense Psychology, tense Heart Prolonged excesses lead to malignancy Medical Qigong Philosophy The above cliques are probably the 2 most important comments to inspire an individual to make life style changes to avoid the onset of disease and sickness as we age. ~ Tense Body, Mind and Heart. With todays fast paced society, technology and quick fix solutions to todays problems, our population is regressing further away from Nature than at any other time in our History. The more we walk and relax, the more we get outside and interact with Nature, the more Killer Cells the body produces to fight off Cancer germs from proliferating. As a consequence with Technology, people are becoming more aggressive, impatient, tense, unhappy and lazier. Having a tense body includes stress in the muscles, tendons, joints and bones. We must learn techniques to relax the muscles, tendons and bones. Remember, our blood and oxygen run through our muscles, tendons and bones. If those organs are tense, then circulation will be impeded, leading to under nourishment of the cells, tissues and organs. Cancer Germs love a hot, sweaty, dark and angry environment to survive. A cancer cell cannot survive in a rich, happy, oxygenated environment. To experience unimpeded circulation and to increase our circulation the body must be happy and relaxed. The happier our body is, the more abundant our blood will be and then the circulation will be unobstructed. Practicing medical qigong can assist in eliminating tension from the body, mind and heart. The more we laugh, the happier the body, mind and heart will become. Laughing produces lymphocytes from the thymus gland, which is a very powerful hormone. To activate this hormone all we have to do is laugh. The thymus glands hormones are very strong Cancer preventative hormones. The happier our mind is, the clearer our mind becomes. The negative emotion of the Heart is sadness and sorrow, so we must fill our Heart with love and happiness. Children laugh over 400 times a day, while Adults only laugh up to 10 times a day. We must practise to be happy. It does not come naturally. Learning to smile makes the difference between spreading endorphins or toxins around the body. Our Internal Organs store negative emotions. Liver anger Heart sadness and sorrow Spleen Pensiveness Lung Grief Kidney Fear and anxiety. As is evident, smiling and being happy can and will dispel and balance negative emotions and replace them with positive energy. ~ Practice smiling. How? You must be aware of the state of your psychology all the time and adjust it accordingly. For example, I am driving on the freeway and due to concentrating too much, I notice I am frowning. I say to myself, smile, smile and be happy you are going to have a good day today. Use Positive affirmations. Be happy; uplift your spirit by helping others/strangers. Helping people will uplift the spirit of your heart and your psychology. Through breathings exercises, Medical Qigong training teaches you how to dispel toxins, tension and negative energy from the body and mind, stimulate circulation around the body, and maintain and increase the flexibility of the joints and muscles. A consistent routine of exercises will also keep toxins from proliferating by exercising the Lungs and dispelling bad air from the body, muscles, tendons and brain. ~ Excesses lead to Malignancy Drink a bottle of Whiskey every day and you will probably die of Liver disease or Cancer. Eat excessive fatty foods and become Obese generally leads to Diabetes, high blood pressure and Heart disease. Overwork can also lead to excessive stress and then the family structure can break down, leading to arguments and disharmony. The destruction of one internal organ leads to the demise of another. Kidney promotes the Liver Liver promotes the Heart Heart promotes the Spleen Spleen promotes the Lung Lung promotes the Kidney We must learn to keep the energy of our Internal Organs happy, abundant and balanced. Colors of the Internal Organs Heart Red Spleen Yellow Lung White Kidney Black Liver Green Incorporating the 5 colours of Nature into your cooking will help to nourish and strengthen the Organs and create a happy environment. A breakdown of our DNA or Damaged DNA in a Cell will lead to Cancer. We must eat a good balance of vegetables and protein and fibre. We must exercise our Lungs to change the air in our bodies. We must laugh a lot and not dwell. We must learn to take time out and relax or meditate. Stay happy, stay young at heart and do not get too serious about life. Attitude is as important as genetics to maintain a long, happy life with good quality of living. Stillness leads to stagnation. Movement is essential to life.

Most of Chinese people know about what Possessed by the Devil(走火入魔is by watching martial arts films or martial arts books, especially a famous character Ou Yang Fengs actions after practising a special Qi gong, he appears in Hong Kong famous writer Jin Yongs martial arts book. This character gives every reader a very interesting and funny and impressive momery about what Possessed by the Devilis! In our life, I find the same sample happening in some static Qigong practicers. I always search for the reason and ask Why. Following to treat more and more patients who have spinal health problems by Tui na, especially the one who has the head problems by apoplexy, I found out the main reason. The purpose of Tui na is to make the confused order muscle fibers into the loosen and ordered condition, that can make your blood and Qi moving into a normal passing way and no blocks. When a Qi gong practicer practises Qi gong under his teachers guide,he always tries to let his body inner Qi go through by his meridian. It is always easy to run your Qi in your body by your mind for most of people, but when you try to run your Qi to pass through your head meridian, the problem happens often. When your head has some disordered muscles fibers which always make the blocks to your blood and Qi moving, every time, you try to use your mind to run your Qi through these blocks, more bloods will go there under your Qis order,. But what a pity! a narrow channel which made by your disordered muscles can not let them pass through at a normal way! And now, a case will happen just like as you make a press on a water pipe, more Qi you try to run, more blood will gather at this narrow channel. More pressure to the nerve which is near by the channel, more rubbishes are collected there and make the channel more narrow. Day after day for your practising, Possessed by the Devil happens ! When this happens to a Qi gong practicer,if his teacher knows about his students health problem, he can offer him the right way to make the disordered muscle into the order first before his next level Qi gong practice. But if his teacher doesnt know about this, his student will go to a bad rusult in the end. But how many Qigong teachers spend time to study Chinese medicine or Western medicine when they learn or teach Qi gong? Monkey says, and monkey does!will not the best way to inherit any traditional culture! As a culture inheritor, you have the duty to reaserch and tell your followers the truth and not the cover only!

Chinese saying: Daojia has three most important things: Jing/Qi/Shen 精、气、神 . In these three ones, everything starts from Jing精. But what is Jing精 ? For some reasons, the writers always dont tell you the truth about their experiences directly, they like to use many obscure words to cover their simple truth about Jing 精. That makes their followers into a misterious and confused understandings about Jing精. No ground for blame on this approach ! This is one of human beings culture ! But not all the writers like to cover them in their books . More than two thousand years before, Chinese famous medicinal book 《Huang Di Nei Jin》has told us what Jing精 is by the clear and simple and understandable words. In 《 Huang Di Nei Jin. Suwen. Ping Re Bing Lun 》it tells us like this: When the virus attacks the cover of our body, our body immune system ( Zheng qi 正气) always fights with the virus by sweating 出汗. Where is our sweat ( Jing 精) from? It comes from our stomach and spleen. If your immune system正气 can sweat when the virus attacks your cover, then, you lost your fever, and can have food, you win(精胜! Your Jing 精 win! If can not have food, and hot still, your Jing 精 lost ! And so, if you want to get enough Jing精, you must have a good stomach and spleen first. No them, no Jing 精 will be produced! And now, you understand what you should do for in your martial arts or Qi gong trainings ! That is: Always keep your stomach and spleen into a good condition first ! ( Chinese saying ! Please understand it in Chinese culture ! ) Hope my this understanding can help you to understand Taojias culture deeper!

Most people practice Tai Chi slowly, at 30 seconds per move, but you can do Tai Chi at many other paces. Other paces you should try are : Hard & Abrupt (tensing only at the moment of IMPACT) Fast & Flowing (as fast as possible) Slow (one minute per move) Super Slow (five minutes per move) Each of these paces trains your body in a different way, giving the Chi a wide variety of ways to flow. The Super Slow mode is the most powerful, engraining the moves into your autonomic nervous system as a new set of reflexes that will operate in combat without any need for your mind to slow you down. Also, the Super Slow mode will pull up a tremendous amount of Chi and magical like things will begin to happen around you. Best to wait until you are comfortable with Slow mode, before doing Super Slow mode. The body needs time to adjust to it. Super Slow mode really is a monster, which is why nobody teaches it. I just sort of stumbled onto it myself. When you are ready to do Super Slow mode, you will notice every tiny nuance of each move, every single muscle, tendon, ligament & nerve that is involved. Having your form exactly correct is very important in Super Slow mode, because you are deeply imprinting the move in the reptilian portion of your brain. Another thing to consider, is Short Form & Long Form. In Short Form, conservation of movement is practiced, and the back is generally kept perpendicular with the ground. In Long Form the movements are extended quite a bit. Once you're comfortable with it, slow down to one move per minute. At this pace you can begin to notice nuances within the moves, and make corrections to your form, so that you are always in proper posture & balanced. One of the benefits of Tai Chi, is that it coordinates the entire body into each move. Thus, a punch will carry, not only the force from the arm & shoulder, but the energy of the entire body, including the legs. That is, a punch with the force of a kick... Also, more than muscular strength is employed, since the strength of the ligaments is also utilized. After a few months of real slow, you will be ready for super slow : one move every five minutes. Here you will become aware of every single nerve & muscle fiber. Subtle things in the forms will become apparent, & your back will adjust itself to perfect alignment. At five minutes per move you will not only feel great amounts of Chi flowing through you, but you will also see it dripping off of your hands & feet, like a clear sirup. The Chi will flow up from the center of the Earth. Trees & wild animals will know what you are doing, and you may be visited. At this point the moves will be etched into your autonomic nervous system, as a new set of reflexes, which will be under the control of the lower portion of the brain around the brain stem. This part of the brain is known as the reptilian brain, because it governs reflexes & involuntary movements, and is the earliest part of our evolution as a physical species. In other words, your reaction time in combat will become so fast that neither you, nor your opponents will ever see what you did.
