Agreed. There is a form of energetic transmission in all interaction. It is particularly strong if one actually connects to Jesus in communion. True communion is a great gift. As stated in John... John 7:37-38 37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” In true communion, there is a connection at the heart (and higher) and one feels the rushing rivers of living water (energy/vibrations).

While it is a couple of years old now, given some recent interest in the topic, I thought I might resurrect this thread for any who are interested. Best wishes.

Illinois has more debt per capita and no where near as good weather. So I will take that bet.

Agreed regarding the physical body, Issues can directly effect the body (disease, cancer, etc...) It is also very common for issues to purge through the body as skin disorders (rashes, etc..)

If you are going to call it a Jeff thread, I would perfer it if people start at the beginning. Where we were discussing actual practices and topics. http://thedaobums.com/topic/38113-with-any-realization/

With such clearing, there a various depths that different teachers may be capable of working at. Some work at a more conscious mind level, others can go deeper into the subconscious. A teacher does not really clean you up, but more helps one to access the issues/fears at a deeper level. Such issues/fears are stored as energy structures in the energy body, if one lets go/releases the it, the resulting energy structure breaks down and the energy/flow frees up (expansion). Since it is often below conscious awareness, if one does not let go of the exposed issue/fear, they instead feel irritated/uncomfortable and often associate it with the teacher.

Welcome Russ.

Thanks for sharing. Such higher relationships are very common. A dakini is a energy/tantric force of spiritual development and change. The interaction tends to be where you have issues to work with. Sounds like some issues at the heart and throat areas. Best wishes.

Sounds very cool. I have had similar experiences. Could you share more? Thanks, Jeff

Not Two - The Faith Mind Sutra - Hsin Hsin Ming by Sima,Third Zen Ancestor The Great Way is not difficult for those who have no preferences. When love and hate are both absent everything becomes clear and undisguised. Make the smallest distinction, however and heaven and earth are set infinitely apart. If you wish to see the truth then hold no opinions for or against anything. To set up what you like against what you dislike is the disease of the mind. When the deep meaning of things is not understood the mind's essential peace is disturbed to no avail. The Way is perfect like vast space where nothing is lacking and nothing is in excess. Indeed, it is due to our choosing to accept or reject that we do not see the true nature of things. Live neither in the entanglements of outer things, nor in inner feelings of emptiness. Be serene in the oneness of things and such erroneous views will disappear by themselves. When you try to stop activity to achieve passivity your very effort fills you with activity. As long as you remain in one extreme or the other you will never know Oneness. Those who do not live in the single Way fail in both activity and passivity, assertion and denial. To deny the reality of things is to miss their reality; to assert the emptiness of things is to miss their reality. The more you talk and think about it, the further astray you wander from the Way. Cut off all talking and thinking, and there is nothing you will not be able to know. To return to the root is to find the meaning, but to pursue appearances is to miss the source. At the moment of inner enlightenment there is a going beyond appearance and emptiness. The changes that appear to occur in the empty world we call real only because of our ignorance. Do not seek the truth; only cease to cherish opinions. Do not remain in the dualistic state avoid such pursuits carefully. If there is even a trace of this and that, right and wrong, the Mind-essence will be lost in confusion. Although all dualities come from the One, do not be attached even to this One. When the mind exists undisturbed in the Way, nothing in the world can offend, and when a thing can no longer offend, it ceases to exist in the old way. When no discriminating thoughts arise, the old mind ceases to exist. When thought objects vanish, the thinking-subject vanishes,as when the mind vanishes, objects vanish. Things are objects because of the mind; the mind is such because of things. Understand both as originally one emptiness. In Emptiness the two are the same, and each contains the ten thousand things. If you do not discriminate between coarse and fine you will not be tempted to prejudice and opinion. To live in the Great Way is neither easy nor difficult, but those with limited views Their minds get lost, the faster they hurry, the slower they go, and clinging cannot be limited; even to be attached to the idea of enlightenment is to go astray. Just let things be in their own way and there will be neither coming nor going. Obey the nature of things, your own nature, and you will be free, easy, and undisturbed. When thought is in bondage the truth is hidden, for everything is murky and unclear, and the burdensome practice of judging brings annoyance and weariness. What benefit can be derived from distinctions and separations? If you wish to move in the One Way do not dislike even the world of senses and ideas. Indeed, to accept them fully is identical with true Enlightenment. The wise man strives to no goals but the foolish man fetters himself. There is one Dharma, not many; distinctions arise from the clinging needs of the ignorant. To seek Mind with the discriminating mind is the greatest of all mistakes. Rest and unrest derive from illusion; with enlightenment there is no liking and disliking. All dualities come from ignorant inference. They are like dreams of flowers in the air: foolish to try to grasp them. Gain and loss, right and wrong: such thoughts must finally be abolished at once. If the eye never sleeps, all dreams will naturally cease. If the mind makes no distinctions, the ten thousand things are one essence. To understand the mystery of this essence is to be released from all entanglements. See the ten thousand things as equal and return to true nature. Without any distinctions there can be no comparisons. Stop and there is no motion. Move and there is no stillness. Without motion or stillness, how can a single thing exist? In true nature there are no goals or plans. In the mind before thinking no effort is made. Doubts and worries vanish and life in true faith is restored. With a single stroke we are freed from bondage; nothing clings to us and we hold to nothing. All is empty, clear, self-illuminating, with no exertion of the mind's power. In the mind without effort, thinking cannot take root. In the true Dharma world there is no self or other. To come directly into harmony with this reality just say “Not two.” “Not two” includes everything. Nothing is separate. Enlightened beings everywhere all return to the Source. Beyond time and space a single thought is ten thousand years. Emptiness here, Emptiness there, but the infinite universe is always before you. Infinitely large is infinitely small: No boundaries, no differences. So too with Being and non-Being. Don't waste time in doubts and arguments that have nothing to do with this. One thing, all things: move among and intermingle, without distinction. To live in this realization is to be without anxiety. When you see things like this, You are already complete. Trust and Mind are not two. Not-two is Trust inMind. The Way is beyond all words: Not past, not future, not present.

There is no pulling of energy from the head to the heart, it is more that the energy flows with ones attention/focus. And while a broader heart opening can feel pretty powerful/overwhelming, it does not lead to a heart attack.

I am here with 2 cents, and may your 2 cents knock some sense into my thick cranium.

I would suggest that you do read it in context. Here is another passage describing the concept... Romans 8:6-17 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Just sharing my personal experience that I felt might be helpful. Also, I take responsibility for my suggestions. But yes, I am happy to add the disclaimer... Speaking on my own authority.

Makes sense to me. How do you define "absolute emotional clarity"? Does that mean past all anger and irritation? Things like that?
-
It probably related to some release (or expansion), a subconscious energy flow. I am sure you will have more such in the future.
-
Try moving it around the body some time and see what you get. The heart can be especially powerful. I know a bunch of people who even call them heart orgasms.
-
If you would, consider the possibility that your bliss and energy are just two sides of the same coin. As mental clarity increases, your bliss becomes increasingly abiding (and energy flows become as smooth as silk).
-
Are you not one who wants to help all sentient beings? Would stick around to help?
-
As others have said, what is being described is not awakening in the classic sense, but is something that is very common as one opens to a deeper level in consciousness. If one thinks in chakra terms, each "higher" chakra is like going deeper into consciousness (or subconscious) and is kind of like a new level/layer. Often when a new layer is opened, one does not yet have the clarity (or energy flow) to support the layer at a full conscious level. It is like one does not have the mental energy to even support conscious thinking or normal activities. Similar to one that goes deep sea diving and does not has the richer oxygen supply to support the greater depth. This type of situation points to the need to clear subconscious issues, fears and karma at the relative "depth of mind". As things are freed up, energy flow increases and more normal mental operations return.

In the definition, darkness just really means something like "obscured view", and so yes one leaves behind or moves beyond such beliefs/perspectives (or view). The 5th in other translations is also called "hard to teach". This is because at this level, one is now radiating wisdom/light (4th) and it can directly affect those around you. A new level of interaction with other sentient beings begins. This new level is something that can't really be taught, and also these new connections can become overwhelming, resulting in a falling back. If one continues, the early stage sambhogkaya begins to manifest (6th) and later it becomes increasingly unbounded (7th - gone afar).

Guess it depends on one's definition of the truth. From my personal experience, what the first bhumi is describing regarding very joyous is the same as what one would call opening the crown chakra in classical Hindu/yoga approaches. Bliss has different meanings in different traditions. In some cases it describes something like infinite silence, in others, more orgasmic like energy flows, what does the word bliss mean to you?
-
This stages list is an older perspective, but the Joy described as the first bhumi would roughly translate to level 7 - calm mind.
