To me, all intent requires thinking, but such thinking does not need to be some ongoing monologue in the mind. Clearheaded utilization of landing controls require intent and action. Also, a quarter back does not throw a completed pass without a thought on receiver and thought to move arm and throw... This is also why buddha said that Karma = Intent, and there is no intent without thought.

I ended up doing both Tut and Seti. See my Tut pic below. It was very cool and I could feel spirit that needed release there. Yes, on Hatshepsut temple too. Very impressive, and felt a little energy there, but not that strong.

I was just there two weeks ago myself. Very cool stuff. And I would agree that the pyramids are a very different experience than the tombs in the valley of kings. The energy flow (and type) is very different at the great pyramid than various energetically powerful holy sites I have been to in the past.

Interesting contrast point on the One from the Gospel of Thomas... 50. Jesus said, "If they say to you, 'Where have you come from?' say to them, 'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.' I think it is a great idea. I have done some online ones, but it is often hard to get people to come in person without some sort of perceived certification/legitimacy. The people I know that have been successful have used community centers and tried to get added formally as an option.

I think there are many similarities. The difference is somewhat in the potential and how the practices work relative to view. My practices would sort of be the same as Bon if you kind of integrated (or overplayed) aspects of Kashmir Shaivism into it. It is hard to define the difference, but if a Bon-Buddhist would think of it as there being the three bodies of a buddha (Nirmankaya, Sambhogkaya, and Dharmakaya), it is like there would be an additional body added in (or you could also maybe describe it as another aspect of the Sambhogkaya). This additional aspect would correspond to being the fullness of Siva in KS. In Taoism, it would be the stage or realization of the “valley of the universe” found in the Tao Te Ching. At a practice level, this difference allows one to directly share space (or oneness) with others and not just have the energetic connection that you described. Part of this aspect is also how spinoff traditions like Pureland Buddhism can work. Basically, bringing together the primordial and emptiness view of Bon, but merge it with the oneness of KS. This integration is to me is a key differentitator.

I think it is important to understand the broader context of the "divine feminine" in the mystical christian view. Also, people tend to think in terms of the Holy Trinity, but that concept does not really exist in the gospels, as it was made up later in the 200-300s AD to support a particular view regarding the divinity of Christ. But the "universe" being and coming from feminine (like in my quote in the other thread) can be easily found Revelations 21... 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The "Bride" of the Lamb (Christ) is a new holy city that descends from God. It is the new universe itself, where the Lamb(Christ) is the light of (or inside) this Holy City. Sort of like the bride is the "womb" of all creation and the father gives birth to the Lamb that lights it all up. Or you could say that Durga(from other thread quote) is the old Mom of creation, but a new one comes and replaces with the new world. A new (and "higher") one.

Thanks for adding this Feng & English version, as I think it states things most clearly for this chapter. The second half of this chapter is especially important for those who understand about energy and light... The sage never tries to store things up. (Never tries to store or hold energy in the body) The more he does for others, the more he has. (The greater the connections with others, the greater his potential) The more he gives to others, the greater his abundance. (The more energy he gives/shares with others, the more he has access to, and energy is really unlimited) The Tao of heaven is pointed but does no harm. (Light flowing through a sage “hits” others, but only helps and clears issues) The Tao of the sage is work without effort. (Light has a significant effect on others, but simply “radiates” - not sent)

There is so much wisdom in the chapter, and SFH’s versions says it best. Worth repeating again... Flowing Hands 1987 78 Under Heaven there is nothing more soft and yielding than water. By following its example, there is no better way of attacking the solid and strong. The weak can overcome the strong. The supple can overcome the stiff. By being both weak and supple, one can overcome both. By observing the natural forces everyone can know this, yet no one ever bothers. By being soft and yielding, the Sage can take upon himself the troubles of the people. By doing this, he can become ruler of the Universe. This seems paradoxical, but its true.

That is not correct and Jesus even states that the Father also forgives. The issue around the Holy Spirit is more about the natural flow of energy/light of God in the world. Like as described in the TTC when talking about the Dao. It is impartial, get in the way of the flow and you get smacked...

Sure, and they can have female pastors and be divorced (which is why the Anglican Church was formed in the first place) where that is not something with Catholics. Anglicans changed a bunch of detail stuff (like female pastors) in the late 1970s, but nothing in what I call theological differences. Differences like that are more about the interpretation than the actual theological aspects. As an example, the catholic church says that the Pope can still grant indulgences like in did in the Middle Ages, but there is no actual bible or gospel support of such, it is just something the Pope came up with and pushed out. On the Pope thing, it has always been amazing to me because Jesus does specifically say in the gospels that you should call no man father (only the Father above), and then the first thing the Pope does is call himself holy father, declare power and ignore Jesus's teaching/warning about what he just did.

Very good point. The only major theological difference between the two is that the Anglican Church does not recognize the Pope, and that communication is consubstantiation and transubstantiation with communion. Meaning that Anglicans/Episcopalians believe that in communion the bread and wine has all of the power of the body and blood, but does not actually get converted into body and blood with the sacrament.

Most churches are highly dependent on direction based upon the local pastor/priest. Sets the local tone and then the congregation tends to reflect or share the views. If you (or anyone) is interested in some really great catholic teachings, I highly recommend Bishop Robert Barron. His podcasts are part of the core US catholic outreach and they are very good. He is highly intelligent and can put it all in a coherent framework, without the classical fire and brimstone perspective. He is also very familiar with buddhist and hindu traditions and can easily differentiate. Have been trying to figure out a way to have dinner with him for years.

While I would agree that there are many such people just going through the motions, I would also say there are many sincere Christians that leverage the gospels/teachings of Jesus as a very effective spiritual path. Many highly evolved followers of Jesus. Sorry to hear that your local church experience is such as it is. Is your catholic experience the same, or just with the Anglican Church?

Where is this Anglican Church located? As I can tell you I was just recently at one in Rhode Island that even had the queen’s minister visit and it definitely was not at all around higher or neuroscience. If anything, the Anglican/Especispal church in the North East US is very “fire and brimstone”. More focused on the sinner aspect than the redemption aspect. Sounds like it may be a very interesting scientific bible study, but really has nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus.

This is a specific statement that women have the same spiritual capability as men, as opposed to the Jewish view that woman where not fully human (and not allowed to go into the inner temple). A more complete version of the broader energy/light concept is found in this verse... 22. Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the (Father's) kingdom." They said to him, "Then shall we enter the (Father's) kingdom as babies?" Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."

I agree with the opinionated, but that is probably a natural product of different views. Also, if everyone just agreed there would be nothing to discuss. I also agree with your point on spiritual growth is more closely related to our connections than with any information. I miss the old Taobums days when there was an active chatroom where people would do actual practices and experiment together. Directly sharing is always better than intellectually debating.
