  1. Gospel of Thomas

    20) The disciples said to Jesus, "Tell us what the Kingdom of Heaven is like." He said to them, "It is like a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds. But when it falls on tilled soil, it produces a great plant and becomes a shelter for birds of the sky." For me, this one is pretty straight forward. Tilled soil is fertile ground. Someone who has lived a good life and is open to the word of God. The mustard seed is the divine spark (of the Holy Spirit) that is in all of us. As it grows, it becomes (integrates with) the "tree of life" for all other souls in the world.
  2. Gospel of Thomas

    19) Jesus said, "Blessed is he who came into being before he came into being. If you become My disciples and listen to My words, these stones will minister to you. For there are five trees for you in Paradise which remain undisturbed summer and winter and whose leaves do not fall. Whoever becomes acquainted with them will not experience death." In "Blessed is he who came into being before he came into being.", Jesus is speaking about himself and all the enlightened beings who incarnate to uplift humanity. To "listen" means to open and surrender oneself to Jesus's teachings. In talking about the stones, he is saying that all of creation has the "light" of God and one can learn from the world and normal life. The five trees are the Holy Sefirot in the five world or universes. In the ancient jewish tradition, they are the universes of Adam Kadmon, Atzilut, Beriyah, Yetzirah and Asiyah. They are the various "levels" of the soul.

Are you saying that you are enlightened? Thanks, Jeff
  4. Yin? (yang?)

Yes, the concept of distance on all planes (and planes in general) are a perception in (universal) mind. I think the easiest way to think of it is kind of like "layers" of perceived reality. Go deep (or high) enough and one realizes the "oneness" of all. Ultimately, there is really no place to go. At at transmission level, the difference is between "sending to" and "being".
  5. Yin? (yang?)

My view... All "types" of energy. Also, the "how" does not really use the phone, internet, video conferencing and so forth...
  6. Yin? (yang?)

The stronger on phone, skype and chat is a matter of focus and intent. Both parties are focused on the communication/connection. When in the same room, people are often distracted by thoughts (e.g. looking at the person and what they are doing, wondering what they think about you). Think about it like asking someone on a date... is one more self conscious in person or on the phone/texting...
  7. Anadi - Buddhism has flaws.

Hi Ti, Thanks for sharing the video. I took a look at Anadi's site and it would seem that his overall position is described in his words below... the absolute stateThe ultimate experience of being is the absolute state, in which the soul fully transcends the fluctuations of her abidance in the now and enters the unoriginated, unbecome, unmanifested ground of reality — the absolute. The absolute is the primordial void that contains totality, the foundation of the never-ending expansion of creation, the living depth of absence. Everything dwells upon the absolute; all manifests from it at the beginning of creation and all returns to it at the end of time. The absolute state is not the absolute itself, but the meeting between the soul and the absolute. To be able to distinguish the absolute state from a deep experience of being we must understand that they represent entirely different dimensions of realization. Their difference cannot be measured by degrees of depth. The absolute state actually signifies a quantum leap in the depth of being, beyond depth itself. Prior to reaching the absolute state, being is experienced on the side of creation; after, on the side of the uncreated. The significance of this statement needs to be contemplated deeply. Let us imagine an intermediate space that lies between the original void and the reality of creation. Such a space does indeed exist, for there must be a bridge between the radically polarized dimensions of absence and presence. This mysterious ‘in-between’ space can either be approached from the side of the source or from the side of manifested existence: the absolute pulls the soul from within, the soul surrenders to it from without. When the soul surrenders to the gravity of the original void, she is absorbed into being from the side of creation. Still, she has not yet moved to the abode of the absolute. To cross the invisible border that separates the dimensions of presence and absence is to experience death while living. Those who have crossed over to the abode of the unborn have the rare privilege of becoming immersed in that which is beyond both life and death — the supreme source. In the absolute state, all relative instability of energy within the experience of being is transcended and we attain the ultimate experience of pure rest. Though empty and immobile, the absolute state has the extraordinary strength and power of the absolute itself. Just as pure awareness is the zero point of consciousness and the now is the zero point of pure awareness, the absolute is the zero point of the now. The absolute has no attributes but one — it is. The original isness of the absolute is the sacred container of all existence. I did not listen to the whole video, but I would be interested in hearing what you think is new or different in his position. It seems pretty consistent with many traditions. He is just defining the ultimate state as "pure rest" or ceasing in the void. Thanks, Jeff
  8. Yin? (yang?)

Hi BKA, I have found that "distance" is really just a perception of mind. If either the "sender" or "receiver" thinks (even subconsciously) distance makes a difference, than it does. If one "knows" that it is only a perception, then it does not make any difference. As an example, many people find that distance healing is stronger (or more powerful) when done with an open phone connection. This is because both parties have a subconscious feeling of communication when on the phone.

Hi MooNiNite, Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I definitely think that the process can happen naturally (without any conscious effort) if both are at the heart. The loop i described is pretty normal with love-attraction. It is really more a question of the sensitivity/clarity and being able to notice it. Also, at advanced levels "distance" does not matter. I am not familiar with the Eqyptian Ahnk tantra, but connections/communication based at the throat chakra (and higher chakras) is very normal at higher levels. Throat with 3rd eye and gives what is often called "mind transmissions" or more astral stuff. Any experience with the Ahnk tantra? Regards, Jeff
  10. Gospel of Thomas

    18) The disciples said to Jesus, "Tell us how our end will be." Jesus said, "Have you discovered, then, the beginning, that you look for the end? For where the beginning is, there will the end be. Blessed is he who will take his place in the beginning; he will know the end and will not experience death." To me, this is an interesting one. It seems to beg the question of "what is the beginning" that is being described. Any thoughts?
  11. Gospel of Thomas

Hi 9th, In my original statement, I had put the word "heart" in quotes to imply something much deeper than the human heart (or heart of man). In many traditions it is called the "inner heart". It also defines the difference between "love" and "universal love". John 7:37-38 37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Living water...
  12. Gospel of Thomas

Hi 9th, Very nice, a few more translations... Lambdin (1988) (17) Jesus said, "I shall give you what no eye has seen and what no ear has heard and what no hand has touched and what has never occurred to the human mind." Patterson-Robinson (1998) (17) Jesus says: "I will give you what no eye has seen, and what no ear has heard, and what no hand has touched, and what has not occurred to the human mind." Also, below is the Coptic/English interlinear translation has been compiled by Michael Grondin...
  13. Gospel of Thomas

    17) Jesus said, "I shall give you what no eye has seen and what no ear has heard and what no hand has touched and what has never occurred to the human mind." First one must understand that "what has never occurred to the human mind", is found in the "heart". Once that is realized, you find it in many places. Below is just an example... CHAPTER 4 (SFH version) The Dao is forever like an unfathomable empty space. If used, it can never be used up. It is the source of the Ten Thousand Things. Look with your heart, see its form in the glare, be at one with the dust of the Earth, simplify your nature. For it is ever present, hidden in the depths of the myriad things. I don't know from whence it came, but it is great.
  14. Gospel of Thomas

    17) Jesus said, "I shall give you what no eye has seen and what no ear has heard and what no hand has touched and what has never occurred to the human mind." Jesus is talking about oneness with God. It is beyond arisings in/of the mind (or universal mind). What one senses and thinks is not it. I find it interesting to compare this passage to the TTC description of the Tao.
  15. To put your reference from John in context... John 11:20-27 (KJV) 20 Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. 21 Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” The section above seems to say the same kind of thing... Pay attention to Jesus (and what he has to say)... (1) And he said, "Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death."
  16. Gospel of Thomas

    16) Jesus said, "Men think, perhaps, that it is peace which I have come to cast upon the world. They do not know that it is dissension which I have come to cast upon the earth: fire, sword, and war. For there will be five in a house: three will be against two, and two against three, the father against the son, and the son against the father. And they will stand solitary." I would agree with much of what Apech has stated regarding the meaning of this passage. But, it also has a direct corollary in the Gospel of Luke that puts the passage in context... Luke 12:49-59 (KJV) 49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? 57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? 58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite. In both verse 16 and in Luke, Jesus is talking about the new and higher "truth" that he is bringing to world. A new covenant and baptism in the power of the Holy Spirit. In comparing the father against the son, he is saying that one must move on from the old ancestral jewish ways of the law. Though the path may be difficult, one must be resolute (solitary if need be) in the new way. (edit - Ipad issues)
  17. Yin? (yang?)

Hi Bagua, Regarding your dual cultivation concept, I would definitely agree. In describing the two types of the energy, I think the easiest way to think about it is the difference between "holding" and "being held". One does not notice the being held in the absence of someone holding unless one Is very advanced. You can also think of the being held energy like "surrender". The dual cultivation loop does not require sex, but that is the most common way people come to it. People tend to forget that tantric originally meant energy practices. To get the loop going it requires that both parties are open at least to the heart. The most common flow is male 2nd chakra to female 2nd. The woman then "raises" the sexual energy to the heart and radiates it back to the man, who loops it back down so that the loop can form. More advanced spiritual practicioners can take it to the higher chakras (Dan tiens).
  18. Yin? (yang?)

Definitely prolongs the experience. Also, with advanced practioners there is no need for physical contact.
  19. Thanks, that description is helpful. What about the quotes that you posted in your earlier post, are they from some biblical source? Or, are they also your senses plenior interpretation?
  20. Yin? (yang?)

Hi Spotless, Things like that happen when a male-female energy loop is created. Rather than depleting the energy is amplified and circulated back and forth. It also creates a very powerful platform for dual cultivation and clearing of obstructions. Best wishes, Jeff
  21. Hi Goatguy, Could you describe the basis (or tradition) for your analysis? Who was doing the teaching that you took notes on? Also, was it an academic or spiritual environment? Thanks, Jeff
  22. Gospel of Thomas

    15) Jesus said, "When you see one who was not born of woman, prostrate yourselves on your faces and worship him. That one is your Father." I would agree with many of the posters (and quoted texts above). As Jesus state in many gospels, as one comes to know God, they are reborn of the Holy Spirit and "beyond" being born of a woman. But, I believe that the quote is also one about discipleship (and finding a guru/master). He is saying that if you are lucky enough to find a true teacher, you should drop everything and follow him/her.
  23. Hi Spotless & Clarity, Thank you for sharing your experiences. I appreciate it. Best wishes, Jeff
  24. Could you explain why? Thanks.
  25. Thanks. I think we may define "mind" a little differently. For me, everything that "exists" (what you call reality) or can be perceived is an aspect of mind (or universal mind). Awareness is more like a chaotic primordial sea of "light". On the three stages, is it not a progression of deeper understanding/knowledge? Does not one experience Haqq ai-yaqin or not?
