  1. Hi MH, I would definitely agree that the mind has more than two levels. It could probably be described as infinite levels. By "subconscious", I meant everything that one is not conscious of. Thanks for the discussion. Regards, Jeff
  2. Questions about Phowa

Hi Norbu, Thank you for your generous offer. I would be interested in your sharing more details relative to the "sudden change of venue". How does one integrate into a different body? Also, would that be a kind of possession with respect to the consciousness of the other person? Best wishes.
  3. Hi MH, Thanks for stopping by and sharing your perspective. So does that mean that you do not believe that things like astral travel or possible? Or, that it just does not relate to broader aspect of "mind"? Regards.
  4. Pratyekabuddha

Hi Simple Jack, Interesting stuff. Thanks for the info and the links. Regards, Jeff
  5. Dorian Black's Final Farewell! :)

Enjoy your life! Best wishes on your path.
  6. Pratyekabuddha

Hi ChiForce, Could you describe what you think that difference is (between liberating oneself to others)? Thanks, Jeff
  7. Why do females progress faster on the way

Would you mind saying where that understanding comes from? Thanks.
  8. Buddhists forum vs Vedanta forum

I would agree with this interpretation of Abhinavagupta's perspective.
  9. Why do females progress faster on the way

Interesting discussion. Thanks. I see it a little differently. Men tend to naturally be more mind focused. Women tend to be more heart focused. Both components need to come into balance. As you and Jetsun have said, men tend suffer from separation, but women tend to suffer from attachment. Both need to be let go.
  10. Merit and "good" karma are still karma... Best wishes on your path.
  11. Are not habitual tendencies transformed into inner, still habitual tendencies? Is not "good" karma, still karma? Could the practice be to accept and then drop (let go of) habitual tendencies? Best wishes, Jeff
  12. This is worth repeating again. Best regards.
  13. The Natural Bliss of Being

Welcome back. Congrats on the book! Best wishes, Jeff
  14. Hi Vmarco, Then you may have misunderstood me. As my picture has always said, my path always been "focused on the moment". Also, as I have said in many posts, I completely agree with you quote from the Shurangma sutra. For me, it was just listening. If you look back, I think you will find that I have often made that recommendation to members. This difference is that I have found multiple excellent traditions that use primordial (present moment) techniques. Most are older than the time of Buddha, but I know you love to call them "new age". Best wishes on your path.
  15. Hi 4bsolute, Thank you for the link to "A little spell of emptiness". It is excellent, and in simple terms describes my path. Best wishes, Jeff
  16. ....

Christianity is founded on forgiveness... The foundation for letting go of attachment... The "peace" that passes all human (mind) understanding...
  17. Hi 4bsolute, You are somewhat correct, but the issue in the way that you describe it is that it can be a never ending iterative loop. It is more of a fundamental shift. Whey you find your own intrinsic awareness, it basically involves three things: 1. Memories are clear and quiet, leave no trace or feelings behind. 2. Thoughts about the future are fresh and unaffected by anything from the past. 3. And in the present moment, when your mind remains in its natural state without constructing anything, awareness, at that moment seems ordinary. And when you look into yourself in this way nakedly (without any voices or random thoughts), since there is only this pure observing, there should be a lucid clarity without anyone being there who is the observer or watching; only a clear awareness is present. This awareness is empty and completely pure, not being created by anything whatsoever. But, this realization is not enlightenment, it is more the beginning... Best wishes, Jeff
  18. just joined

Welcome and great choice on a name.
  19. Hi Silas, Communion is a direct connection/interaction with Christ (who is one with God). The communion of souls is like a support network, with each aspect (soul) shining and sharing it's limited access to Christ/God. The group network "helps", but ultimately it is the individual "oneness" with Christ/God that makes the difference. If there are no "new souls" to the lineage, the lineage in the "world" dies, but it has no impact on the "previous" members of the lineage. Peace & light in Christ, Jeff
  20. The individual "view" of consciousness may cease or not. It is a choice. Best wishes on your path.
  21. Thank you again for your insights. In my (very limited) experience have had situations in which I was "sharing presence/light" with someone and it turned out that an entity had been "attached" to them. The entity reacted negatively, but left the person. Depending on the the underlying issue (and if it was let go), the entity either later returned or not. It was not a planned activity, just something that happened at the time. Any thoughts about this type of situation? Thanks again, Jeff
  22. There is only me, not separate parts. Was there a broader meaning to the question?
  23. I was interested and thought you might be willing to give an overview. I have "bumped into" a few entities with very interesting impact/effects and thought I might be able to learn from your experience. I also thought the topic might be interesting for the broader forum group. Best wishes, Jeff
  24. Matter, Consciousness, Experience

Thanks, but are you saying that evil does not really exist? That there are no wrong acts in nature?
