Hi Jax, So could you say that the teacher sort of "overlays" their presence on the student. In this shared space/overlay, the student feels/experiences the truth/difference? And, the "organismic" part is the results from the resulting opening in the "energy body"? Your "dance" is in that "shared space"? Or, would you describe it differently? Thanks, Jeff

Can you describe what a "transmission" is? Is it a two-way meeting of minds in discussion? Or, is it much more? Thanks, Jeff

Hi Stigweard, Yes, I would agree that I have begun to understand what you have been dealing with on this project. I will go back to Gary with more of your testing advice/parameters. Thanks, Jeff

Hi Deci, I did not realize that this was the second time for me on your ignore list... Is one "full" when they are no longer open to discussion or varying points of view? Best wishes on your path. Jeff

9th, What kind of reaction are you trying to get? What do you desire to happen? Thanks, Jeff

Hi Templetao, Do you see this "internal power" that is transmitted at a distance as different than what is done in energy/distance healing work? Thanks, Jeff

Hi all, I had another few rounds of brief emails with Gary last night. It has been somewhat challenging to get direct responses to my questions. But, this is where things currently stand... -Gary is willing to do a test. -He needs direct contact as shown in the video for the blow (which leaves the push concept very open). -He states that he can transmit energy without direct contact and that is a normal part of his healing sessions. -After repeated direct followup questions, he has said that I should be able to feel an energy transfer by just touching him. -His email demeanor is very different than most spiritual types that I have had discussions with. Given what I know so far (with the push-like contact), I think it is unlikely that i would be able to form an experiment with Gary that would meet Stigweards criteria. Also, since I am not a martial arts guy, i wonder/doubt if I would be able to tell if it was just a very fast finger movement. So, I am open to suggestions on the test concept. Should I take the test myself, or... - just touch Gary and see if I can feel a blow or any energy transfer? - instead talk my martial arts experienced friend into taking the test and see if he notices anything? - pay Gary's fee for a session and get a feel for the energy transfer level (with no contact) and compare it to other healers that I know? - pass and we look for someone else with martial arts experience in the Chicago area to take the test? Best, Jeff (edit - weird format problem)

Hi Stigweard, Thanks for the suggested test advice. I have asked Gary about a few of these questions, but have not gotten a response other than his statement that I will need the fence and to watch his videos. Also, I should warn everyone that while I a familiar with spiritual practices and energy transmission, I do not have a martial arts backgound. Though I do have a good friend with multiple black belts, so maybe I should invite him for the test. Best, Jeff

When I asked about points of contact and whether he could do it through finger tips, Gary directed me to the videos on his site. Looking at the video, it looks like a full body contact push. Very hard to see as it as just energy. Dorian - can you point to any videos where it is just a finger touch? Thanks, Jeff

Gary also just emailed that he needs physical contact. That for distance work he needs someone who is responsive to his Nei Kung. I have followed up with a question to see if the contact needs to be in a specific location or could be something like finger tip to finger tip. Jeff

Hi Friend, I have asked him if he needs physical contact. Otherwise, it could just be a very fast punch. Thanks, Jeff

Gary's response to my email has not confirmed his interest in the test. I have responded with some follow up questions. Best, Jeff

Hi NAJA, The parents that I know who have autistic children are all very loving. In this case, the machine is being used as support in a school setting. Think of it more like a "full body" hug machine, way beyond to capability of two arms. Also, there become safety issues for the teachers as the kids get older. My nephew is high school age and weighs 180. Best, Jeff

Hi Friend, I completely agree that it is possible to have "material effects" on existence. Also, Qi does definitely effect people even if they don't notice it. My point was only that for conscious awareness of external energy "contact", i have found that the person needs to be Qi sensitive. I have noticed that the "contact" is often registered on a subconscious basis (even if they are not sensitive) and it sometimes shows up in a vivid dream. Best, Jeff

Hi Mewtwo, I talked to a few parents about this machine and many autistic kids seem to love it. It sort of cocoons them with pressure all around them. The parents describe that it sort of looks like a medieval torture device, but the pressure is effective. Many also use weighted blankets (up to 20 lbs) to generate the same kind of effect. From their descriptions, I don't think most people would like/enjoy it for meditation, because of the constant pressure (and uneven) on different parts of the body. Also, the devices seem to be pretty expensive as the autistic school only has one of them. Best wishes, Jeff

Hi Ya Mu (and all), I think this is an excellent point. In my (very limited) experienments with friends, for a person to consciously aware of it they must be already sensitive to qi (or subtle body). A local holistic practitioner (also has a Ph.D) has a machine which she claims can measure changes of state in the energy body along with normal body energy flows. I will check and see if there is a set "frequency" to measure independently. From past discussions, the issue is that the machine seems to need a "driver", as the theory is sort of an advanced bio/machine muscle testing. Best, Jeff

Always up for a good experiment. Anyone else in the Chicagoland area interested in joining me for a test? Best, Jeff

Dorian, The "energy transfers" that I am familiar with do feel like high energy vibrations, but they do not require any physical contact to transmit. So we may be talking about slightly different things. Best, Jeff
-
Hi Ya Mu, Thank you for the overview. Now I better understand some of the complexity of their specific goal (not a Facebook person). Some form of scientific documentation of energy/chi transfer seems like a very worthwhile goal (even if there is no money in it ). Best, Jeff

Hi Dorian, I live about 10 miles from Gary's office. I also know a couple of very powerful energy healers in the Chicago area who you can definitely "feel" when they transmit energy. What would be the purpose of the test? To see if he could "knock me down" with energy? Best, Jeff (edit - deleted unnecessary word)

Hi Stigweard, What would constitute (be acceptable as) scientific "evidence" for such a test? Does it need to be measured on some level by a machine? Or, is there any approach in which it is "felt" by people? Maybe, something that would also show a change in brainwave activity? Thanks, Jeff P.s. do you personally feel you own internal energy flows?

I have forgotten the name of the specific form. I have not tried tai chi as our families only really get together around once a month and holidays. I will get it a shot the next time I see him, I have seen that he responds well to shared energy flow.

I am not familiar with it, but I have a nephew who is autistic. I am going to a benefit for his autistic school this weekend. I will ask around about it and see if anyone has any experience. Best regards, Jeff

I don't quite understand the context of your reverse psychology comment, but I am glad hear that there are no hurt feelings. On your question regarding when one overcomes the self... It depends on how one defines the "self". As you have beautifully described in your opening post, there is a stage in the process where one sees beyond the ego (or percieved self) and recognizes the natural state of mind. And as you have described, one can percieve with meaningful clarity what happens in the world and act appropriately to the real situation. But, the issues is that while one has significant clarity, there still exists many obstructions and automated responses in the mind. Anger is a perfect example of this. Whenever the subconscious obstructions/fears/issues are hit, the ego responds in an outburst in an attempt to protect itself. Removing obstructions in the mind is an ongoing (basically infinite) process, because even after one starts to clear away local body-mind, one starts to notice the broader existence of universal mind. Beginning to realize universal mind is where all the "non-normal daily life" fun stuff starts to happen and get interesting. But, even siddhis and astral worlds are still of the mind. Primoridal awareness/God/the pure moment are outside of time & space and beyond mind. Best regards, Jeff

I apologize for hurting your feelings. That was not my intent. Jeff
