That is how calculus works (logically), and hence not subject to the "method of exhaustion" problem.
-
That is just the point, as it is constantly watching the tortoise, not the location of where he was when you looked. Watch the tortoise and it is easy to catch him.
-
That is why you can solve it with the constant watching of the tortoise (infinite looks). That is how calculus works, infinite looks trumps the infinite individual lengths, so you can catch and pass that tortoise. Look at the tortoise itself, not where he was (old method of exhaustion).
-
Faulty logic is faulty logic... But if you are going to assume the logic stream, and want to break it, simply have Achilles run farther than the 100 meters before checking. Have him run 200 meters and then check where the tortoise is relative to him. If he goes 2x the distance, he will pass. Or, since it is a relative time based logic trap, simply have Achilles constantly watching the tortoise, so that you get infinite looks at the infinite 1/2, which then also breaks the paradox and he passes the Tortoise, as Infinity * 1/2 is still = Infinity. The math here is calculus. Newton and Leibniz solved it in the 1700s, bypassing the old greek method of exhaustion that your paradox states. Can read about the death of Zeno paradox here... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_calculus

Taking 1/2 of 1/2 forever is simply a limit function in math, with the limit being zero. But in this case, they are not the same thing, and hence the logic fails.
-
The paradoxes are simply faulty logic traps. Take Achilles and the tortoise for example... Rather than two independent beings racing, it assumes one being is a subset of (and therefore trapped by) the second. Rather than the silly 1/2 of the other logic, the answer should be based upon the relative goal (or time) of the race. Speed of Achilles = X Speed of Tortoise = 1/2 X Head start is 100 meters for tortoise So as long as Achilles is actually moving, he will pass the tortoise when Time * ( X - 1/2X) = 100. If the race is shorter than that time, then the Tortoise wins, if longer then Achilles wins.

You are not blocked at the sacral, it is more that he is not returning the energy return loop transmission. More like two positive poles where you are broadcasting more broadly than your partner. Currently, your ârangeâ is just broader than your partner. The âfixâ is either your partner opening more, or you expand even more by releasing more issues and fears. Food and diet are unlikely to have any affect. It is simply that you are currently energetically stronger than your partner. The next step for you is to connect more broadly to others and environment, and also start to notice more both your male and female energy sides. In chakra terms, it would be opening your throat chakra at a more conscious level. Also, working with more advanced practitioners would help with your clearing. But, honestly it is all good stuff as such heart openings are rare. It is the basis of all of the higher stuff.

Hi Twinflame, Welcome to the forums. Your situation is not unique with an opening. In your case, you have opened your heart and are now transmitting energy there. In Taoist terms you are now more on the yang (male) energy side. When you focus on your partner, that energy is âhittingâ him and adding to his yang (male) energy side which creates an energy build up for him that spills over in his mind into sexual desire. Kind of like he is subconsciously translating the feeling of your energy that way. Since there is not the âreturn energy loopâ back to you, there is no corresponding sexual body energy feeling. Feel free to ask any questions, or send me a pm to discuss. Best, Jeff

Here is the longer version from the Tao Te Ching of making two into one. The first part is integrating the male and female (energy sides), then knowing the white (clear light), while keeping/integrating the black (emptiness of light)... TWENTY-EIGHT Know the strength of a man, But keep a womanâs care! Be the stream of the universe! Being the stream of the universe, Ever true and unswerving, Become as a little child once more. Know the white, But keep the black! Be an example to the world! Being an example to the world, Ever true and unwavering, Return to the infinite. Know honor, Yet remain humble. Be the valley of the universe! Being the valley of the universe, Ever true and resourceful, Return to the state of the uncarved block. When the block is carved, it becomes useful. When the wise use it, they become rulers. Thus, âA great tailor makes few cuts.â And when a ruler (immortal) tells (transmits) for a mountain to move, it will move...

For me this quote has a lot of understanding regarding energy and the Holy Spirit. Knowing is "being one with". When one knows the mother, one knows that you are connected with everyone and everything. You know that your mother the Holy Spirit gets around and is kind of "married to" and with everyone... Hence, as your mother... Kind of a "whore".

It is one of my favorite verses. Incredibly deep and profound.

Hi Nunya, Welcome to the Taobums. You are currently open and receptive at the heart, but not yet really transmitting. What the Tao magician did was send an energy pulse into your energy body/system. Since you are not yet transmitting, you were not able to to release the excess from his transmission. That overflow spilled over into your mind and created the kundalini effects that you described. Maybe think of it like you were already doing it subconsciously, and his excess energy pushed it so that it was more easily noticed by your conscious mind. In Taoist terms you could say that you are currently too yin, and need to balance with more yang. The energy transmission that the Taoist magician sent was similar to a strong reiki treatment in power. I do not know if your teacher is dark or not, but your experience may also just be a product of your overload from the imbalance as described above. Also, there is a lot of confusions and misunderstanding when people talk about the Kundalini and the meaning of it. Kundalini is more of a hindu concept and not part of Taoist, Buddhist, etc... thinking. Maybe better to say that you are now part of the top 8-10% of the population who experiences the underlying energy in some way. While it can be scary, in the broader perspective it is all good stuff. Feel free to ask any questions. But in general, if your healer/teacher cant explain things in easy to understand terms, they may not really have the knowledge/expertise to be doing it. Best, Jeff

Your energy body is opening at the heart. You are both now transmitting and receiving energy at that level. It is harder at night because as your mind quiets you are able to notice the energy flows better. The pressure stresses on your heart are actually you subconsciously trying to open your heart more. While it can probably seem disconcerting, it is all really good stuff happening. The next step of more awareness of your energy body, is beginning to realize sort of the male and female sides (or channels) of the flow. For you now that would be what you are feeling as the front and back differences.

I have had dinner with Buzz Aldrin and there is no doubt that he is sure that he went to the moon. Even 30+ years after, he was also super upset that they changed the side in which the door opened on the lunar capsule which made it so that he was the 2nd man on the moon instead of the first. He felt robbed and went on about it for 30 min. Also, Neil was supposed to have shown up for the dinner too, but he cancelled at the last minute (which Buzz said was typical). Jim Lovell was also with us who told about the Apollo 13 mission. All of the space flight stuff was all very real to him too. It was just me and a business friend who set it up with the two astronauts, so no big event and they were blatantly honest about everything. Would have been great if Neil showed, but one of the coolest nights of my life.

Yes, that is what the TTC quote says. Grace (or Tao of Heaven) is impartial and flows to all. Are you saying something different? -

Yes, but my response was for Still_waters as he was the one who asked the question. Minds make choices, not grace.... SEVENTY-NINE After a bitter quarrel, some resentment remains. What can be done about this? The wise keep their half of the bargain But do not exact their due. Virtuous people perform their part, But those without Virtue require others to fulfill their obligations. The Tao of heaven is impartial. It remains with those who are good. The Tao of heaven is impartial... And gives to all. More a question of who can hold on to it, as... It remains with thos who are good. -

Yes, I read it. But, in many ways it highlights our same disagreement about the mountain coming back again or not. None of the masters would really classify as what I would call a true master. The problem with the story is that is all about the master, and not the capacity of the student. The first master did nothing and was incapable of helping the student even after days of him sitting there. A true master both "radiates" and then also teaches to the level of capacity of the student. In the story, the student felt nothing (and hence the master was not radiating), and also the master made no effort to help at the level of capacity of the student. So what this story says is that the first master is an astral level teacher that has not yet realized the "light" and so is not yet radiating the truth. Additionally, is still ego based as he/she is not willing to work at more physical layers of existence. A true master teaches/transmits to the capacity of the student, not the other way around. A true master also "radiates" beyond mind (and mind to mind communication) and directly shares presence/space. The first part of Chapter 27 of the Tao Te Ching describes this well... TWENTY-SEVEN A good walker leaves no tracks; A good speaker makes no slips; A good reckoner needs no tally. A good door needs no lock, Yet no one can open it. Good binding requires no knots, Yet no one can loosen it. Therefore the wise take care of everyone And abandon no one. They take care of all things And abandon nothing. This is called âfollowing the light.â ... The wise abandon no one... -

I am saying that with a master they can express it in words. Those words carry the energy/knowing with it. It is more about the capacity of the listener, whether hearing the words or a direct mental connection. This chapter of the TTC may be what you mean by quote, but once again, dont stop only part of the way through the chapter as it is only talking about the view from the point of 10,000 things. There is still that mountain than comes back and that divine/royal part is the golden child stuff I mentioned earlier... SIXTEEN Empty yourself of everything. Let the mind become still. The ten thousand things rise and fall while the self watches their return. They grow and flourish and then return to the source. Returning to the source is stillness, which is the way of nature. The way of nature is unchanging. Knowing constancy is insight. Not knowing constancy leads to disaster. Knowing constancy, the mind is open. With an open mind, you will be openhearted. Being openhearted, you will act royally. Being royal, you will attain the divine. Being divine, you will be at one with the Tao. Being at one with the Tao is eternal. And though the body dies, the Tao will never pass away. -

I have actually found that when the words are inadequate it is often more a product of the one writing down the words and the relative depth of understanding (or get lost in the no mountain ). As an example, in the hindu tradition, someone like the KS master Abhinavagupta describes it beautifully and at an incredibly deep level of the mountian coming back. Additionally, when the mountain comes back the nature of the mountain has shifted. In Taoist terms, when the mountain is back, one is called a (golden) child and has already realized the âstream of the universeâ. At that level of realization, one is beyond simple energy and can directly share. Or as the Shiva Sutras state... 3.29. yoâvipastho jñÄhetuĆca The one who rules the wheel of energies becomes the cause of inserting knowledge in others. -

Thank you for your response. But it seemed a little long to simply say that you do not think there really is any difference between the two views. Contrary to your mentor, I would argue that it is really only more at intermediary levels that it appears that differentiation drops. I think that is particularly true with something like Pantanjaliâs Yoga sutras. In an attempt to point this out I will highlight the Zen koan... First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is a mountain again. The yoga sutras are based upon the premise that there is no mountain, and when someone is locked into that view, it is very challenging to realize there is a mountain again. These subtle differences highlight a dramatic difference. -
Yes, it is implied, but it is true at all levels/layers (assuming the guru has greater clarity).
-
Great stuff. Thank you. Sun and Moon fusing here would mean transmission (Sun) and reception (moon) of two people in an energy connection rising to the level of the two becoming one. Your second quote is important as it describes that a guru "helping" with a deity merge is much stronger than someone doing it themself. This is because the guru knows the being directly (as light) and can overlay the being (or create a stronger connection).

Your Zen quote is an important differentiation from the classical hindu view. It is saying something different than 3bob. -
Did anyone just experience something wierd?
Jeff replied to shortstuff's topic in General Discussion
You opened more at the 5th chakra. Some would call it expanding on your female energy side, or going more receptive/yin. Your 3rd eye is vibrating because it is not yet consciously open (or blocked). The panic attack is a common mental response to going so receptive/yin when you are not used to it. The void feeling is because you do not yet have the energy flow to support the now ânewly openedâ space. It is all good stuff, just need to get used to it and stabilize. If it bothers you, the easiest way to rebalance is to energetically work with someone who can go more yin than you which will help you energetically balance. The beginning of chapter 28 in the Tao Te Ching describes where you are at. You experienced the âheart of a womanâ and just mentally freaked out a little.
