Music seems to make me connect with others feelings
Jeff replied to AЯAB's topic in General Discussion
Music is one of the best meditations. Letting go and have the music wash over you. -
You are just starting to notice your "energetic" or astral body. The vibrations are just the feeling of energy transfer. You are just beginning to notice the broader existence...

Hi Anamatva, Kundalini (and the energy) is alway there. The perception of "coming and going" is only a perception of mind. In the beginning, the energy is much easier to notice (or feel) as it bumps up against obstructions(unresolved issues). Spend some time moving the energy around your body...see what happens...

Hi Maya, Things like that can definitely happen. The attraction is felt because an energy loop is created with another person. My guess is that the two of you have a compatible "base vibration". Also, it can happen if one (or both of) your heart chakras are open, though it is more common as a male/female dynamic. Did it all feel at all like you were in a "bubble"?

Thank you both for the discussion. It was very insightful on all fronts... Sometimes a little repetitive, but I will definitely miss this thread. Love, live, laugh... -

Experience, Realization, View, Practice and Fruition

The key issue is the "clinging". As discussed... even though the hammer is "impermanent", at the level of existence, it is still felt in the moment. -

Patanjali's Sutras and Samyama questions
Jeff replied to Tibetan_Ice's topic in Hindu Textual Studies
I think everyone is being a little harsh on AYP. Before judging, I would recommend that everyone actually take a look at the AYP site. Yogani (and others) have put together a set of practices that many find very useful. Also, I have actually been able to spend a few hours at one of the AYP retreats. The leaders are knowledgable and very caring in a non-guru framework. During my short time at the retreat, I felt a meaningful impact on my energy practices. -

To all: Thanks for the discussion. I have enjoyed the thread. -
Used to drink a glass of wine over dinner. Over the last couple of years, as the energy flow has increased, I have lost the ability to drink. It just doesn't taste good anymore.
-
I would also enjoy the conversation.

Can you feel your skull from front to back?

Great observation! Obstructions definitely form (and are held) in your head. They are also found though out the body and beyond. Always lots of "stuff" to clean up. -
Nice to have you with us!

Or is the "original human being" concept also part of the bundle of attachments?
-
Very well said. It is when we get so caught up in the bundles of attachments that we become confused. We believe that we are the bundles of "unclear, rusty and poorly working attachments", rather than that which truly is.. Have a great day!

Thank you for the smile. My main practice is trying to be constantly in the moment. But, to your question, it has been evolving energy practices combined with some meditation. Currently, it is "opening to the energy" and "no thought" meditation. Similar to Shaktopaya in Kashmir Shaivism. Feel free to email me if you have a specific question.

In the context of this discussion an artificial perception is a judgement (or discernment). It is not a thought, but what is... Everything is Tao... Even those pesky thoughts...
-
Nothing is ever out of accord with the Tao. It is only our artificial perceptions (or judgements) that make it appear so.

Can one "discern" without making a judgement?
