Seems like we are saying similar things. Cultivating is always a little work... Cultivate it in the family, And Virtue will abound. Also, 31 years of marriage for me...

I would agree and I think context is useful when responding. As threads may move quickly, I think it can be helpful to not make the reader search endless past pages to find out what poster is even talking about. One may be directing a response to a specific person, but many may be reading the thread periodically.

If your focus is on the love between two people, then I do not see how the matrimonial institution can be the “coin”. Is there not love before a marriage, and even potential love after a divorce? If one realizes that love is an aspect of virtue, and marriage is a form of family, then I think chapter 54 of the Tao Te Ching addresses your question... What is firmly established cannot be uprooted. What is firmly grasped cannot slip away. It will be honored from generation to generation. Cultivate Virtue in your self, And Virtue will be real. Cultivate it in the family, And Virtue will abound. Cultivate it in the village, And Virtue will grow. Cultivate it in the nation, And Virtue will be abundant. Cultivate it in the universe, And Virtue will be everywhere. Therefore look at the body as body; Look at the family as family; Look at the village as village; Look at the nation as nation; Look at the universe as universe. How do I know the universe is like this? By looking!

If one "falls out of love", it was never really what I would call true love in the first place. True love is more like a radiance, there is no back and forth exchange or trade. Can a loving parent ever really fall out of love with their child? It is more like that.

They are definitively interrelated and a balance of the "Two" that come from the "One". So yes, would probably be part of the same coin. As described above, the two interrelate, but most commonly people think in terms of "intent" tied to the transmission/giving. In more broader terms, giving is not necessarily better than receiving. If you read the Tao Te Ching chapter 28, you will see that being the "valley of the universe" (ultimate receiving) is beyond the "stream of the universe" (ultimate transmission). True receiving is being like water... Balancing heart and mind is good, but that is well before becoming a "child" again (or golden child).

Hi Mulan, My suggestion is probably going to be a little more radical. You are currently sort of caught up in a hyper-receptive sense of self, and in your current state you are probably not really ready to try to open your heart or reside in the moment. It is more like you are are being barraged by the emotional energy of the anger and holding it all in. As a first step I would suggest that you try something like go into some place where no one is around (maybe even in the car) and just focus on this anger and scream. Feel free to lose it and feel the anger and pain. I also don't think that it problem if you have dreams about shouting and beating him, as at your current stage it is more about taking back your own personal power and sense of self. Transmitting that anger "outbound" at this point is far better than trying to hold it in an possibly sublimating it. Vent the rage and let it out. He was an asshole, and take back your own sense of self. As a second (later) step, it is more about opening your heart and accepting some love in. Things like forgiveness for the guy can come later, but things like playing with children (or a dog) will help. Your outbound emotional help and support for others, especially when you are leading/responsible will help breakdown those barriers. Nothing like a loving hug. Later and with time some humor can help too. My kids grew up in a time when the purple dinosaur Barney was very popular. When not caught up in the anger itself, things like picturing some painful scene and then have something like Barney eat it all up, can help with releasing the attached energy of the memories. Best wishes, Jeff

No, it does not necessarily apply. Being stuck in hyper receptive mode is more like one is caught up in some big fear or issue. More like the natural outbound sharing is blocked/obstructed. A couple in love with the natural back and forth loving sharing would actually be a very positive force to help break down such obstructions.

Yes, you can use the terms yin and yang too. Female and male side energy, or also reception and transmission. Yes, they are ultimately inseparable, but not always perceived or felt that way at more “local” levels/layers. Most people tend to focus on one side or the other. In the Tao Te Ching, one becomes like a child again (or golden one) when they have integrated the male and female energy sides (into a single one). This happens after one has become the “stream of the universe”, and then begun to perceive/differentiate at a new “light” level. That is why it is called becoming a child again, as it is sort of like having to relearn everything, because one then operates from the light body, rather than the normal energy body. It is the beginning of what is called an “immortal”, as one now knows and have moved beyond the local body-mind.

Group Energy Practice - The Dive - A Historical Teaching
Jeff replied to Jonesboy's topic in General Discussion
I think this section is saying a bit more on the topic. In such a KS ritual, you need to remember that it is a guru to group of students practice. As the text states... In the practice of the circle (cakra) one must adore all the bodies of all those present because since they have all penetrated in the fullness of consciousness they are in reality as if they were our own body. The guru is connecting the entire group of participants, sort of like setting up a daisy chain of connections within "Self". In such a situation, all of the members are affected by the underlying energy/light. If any one of the members becomes overwhelmed and pulls back (contracts energetically), the entire chain will crash within the space of such a KS guru. Also, the "malevolent power" is really just an energy overload that causes someone to freak out a little. p.s. A similiar practice based upon an emptiness (rather than Self) framework, does not crash the entire chain. -
There are very few true teachers bringing light into the world. We could definitely use some more.

Yes, and in context I think he is saying the worrying about worldly items in general is a waste of time... “And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.” Luke 12:13-22 KJV

Of course not... The whole point is to be "One with the father"... No separation, just being...

The purpose of this thread is really just to highlight the accomplishment (or reality) of what one of our members has done for an extended period. What people often call consciousness has a zero level, then many levels/layers of relative form and astral stuff, and then beyond that are the various formless realms. While this member is now back to residing more at the higher end of form layers (super guru stuff), the member spent over a year residing at what can only be described astronomically high (or fine) levels of formless realms. It is hard to describe, but this is way beyond what some traditions call “god realms”. And if you think of your favorite guru of maybe residing in comparison of a mountain top in height, this is like living on the moon in comparison. Just thought you might be interested.

On moving the energy both ways, not being comfortable pulling down is very common. Most traditions that have a pulling down component are based in working with a divine (or higher) being that provide the energy basis for the flowing down (cascading from above). Additionally, this pulling down is a later stage process in spiritual development when one has begun to differentiate between the “male” and “female” (yang-yin) energy sides. If you want to continue doing the pulling down and you have faith in some divine being from your tradition, try visualizing that being above your head with love and light radiating. Pull in that light and continue your loop flow. If you do not believe in any such being, I would suggest you drop such a practice until you have opened beyond the heart.

I have been having a conversation with another member in the bums chat. During the discussion, the question of what really constitutes "alchemy"? Is alchemy just a generic word for "energy stuff", maybe like the word "tantra"? Or, does taoist alchemy imply a specific approach or specific techniques that are some how different than other traditions? I would be interested in everyone's thoughts on the topic. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words. p.s. for the group. It was a momentary rebalancing, we have not done any ongoing work together.

Pulling the subconscious into the conscious mind, and clearing the karma, issues and fears that made it subconscious. Leaving increasingly expanded clarity...

Agreed. He does set a very high bar.

The gospels teaching Jesus’ view on the temple... Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 KJV Everyone is a temple unto God in their own right.

Shows it was not just mind level contact (mind transmission).

Yes, the point of being able to directly interact with the manifest world (the eating and it disappearing with it), is a very significant point. It differentiates from other traditions where spiritual follower can only “see” (astral level communication) the recently departed master.

I think it is pretty clear if you read more broadly in the gospels. He took many “forms” after the resurrection. More like he could manifest any form he wanted, rather than having an earthly body... “Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.” Mark 16:9-14 KJV He just sort of popped around in different forms and appeared before people.

I think your comment about having an open heart is more revelant and important than concern about intelligence. With clarity of mind, naturally comes intelligence, the difference is found in focusing on the moment and not worrying/day dreaming type thinking. All masters have razor sharp minds that are naturally quiet, not dull ones with no thoughts.
