I believe that I can use your exact same logic to say that Awareness = (universal) Mind. Have you ever been aware of something that was not in your mind?

I totally agree with your above highlighted point. But, similarly you don't know that they don't exist. Stating that they don't, is also an assumption and not a fact. I am not fighting for the counter point, only stating that your view is not fact. Also, your three ways of knowing is simply learning (in the mind), and it is not actually knowing. Your "direct experience" could only be a limited view and you believe a simple rope to be a snake instead. Your book or testimony could be from a completely clueless person. And, your intuition could be wrong/misled thinking some fog looked like smoke.

Dwai, You start with... "There is nothing apart from Awareness"... but that is simply a view, and not a proven fact. Like the sound in the forest analogy, just because your consciousness doesn't experience them, you don't know or have any proof that there is not independent existence. You "in your consciousness" simply believe it to be the case. But, I will completely agree that if you accept that assumption/theory as a fact, then everything that you and Neti Neti has stated is correct. My point is that statements like... There is nothing apart from Awareness. And everything that is in awareness are all non-separate. Are circular logic, because you have assumed the theory of there is nothing apart from Awareness in the first place. Best, Jeff

Hi Malakai, I do not know how to say this without coming across as rude, but I do not believe that you are really ready yet for a practice like tummo. Tummo is historically a completion stage practice that one starts after they have learned to fully quiet their mind. It is in that still mental state than one more notices the energy flows at a conscious level. I would suggest that you focus some more on preliminary Buddhist practices, or mantra based mind Hindu practices for a while first. Again, I apologize if I have overstepped. Best, Jeff

If there are some questions that you feel still stand that I have not responded to, you are welcome to restate them and I will directly respond. Yes, I know that you believe that. But, saying that the “seen simply does not exist without a seer”, does not necessarily make it true. That is like saying that a tree falling in the woods does not make a sound since no one is around to hear it. The tree falls, the sonic transmission is made from the falling. Hence, in my view the sound is made because the energy for it exists, even if no one is around to actually translate that energy into a sound like thing in their mind (local consciousness/reality). At the level of Brahman, this is like I am saying that just because there is a Brahman, it doesn’t mean that there cannot be another totally separate Brahman that within that specific reality, it is also one without a second...

If you feel that one, then try this... 22. Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the (Father's) kingdom." They said to him, "Then shall we enter the (Father's) kingdom as babies?" Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]." Knowing the male and female sides and making them into a single one is the next major step for you. You have started to meet both sides, just got stuck and overwhelmed a little with the female side. P.s. If you would rather use Taoist terms just let me know. For them, the babies above are sometimes called a golden child.

I was only pointing out the circular logic of the original premise. If your definition of a seer is only seeing and not capable of athing else, then I agree that they are of the same stuff. But, that still does not give you the object seen as being the same “stuff”. Your seeing the video game object in your “reality”, is just a bunch of software programming code in the outside/objective reality. The difference is sort of like the difference between a television transmission itself and what is “seen” on the television screen.

Your dreamer analogy has the exact same circular logic trap. A dream exists in the mind and not part of what we could call outside/objective reality. Your analogy is like saying... Assume you live inside of a video game, and hence, everything you "see" is inside of the video game. The seer and the seen do not necessarily have the same reality. I can see an object in a video game, but that does not mean that I live in the same reality as the object does in the video game. Also, seeing itself does not need to be of the same nature as the seer and the seen object. Seeing itself can just be an aspect of the seer. Similar to a sonar pulse sent out that reflect upon "separate objects".

Real work and also fun stuff. The key is to not get too attached to any of it. To start you off... 2. Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]" You have started to find and had a little bit of disturbed, the marvel part is yet to come... But, I just suggested the gospel of Thomas as it is not as big of switch from catholic beliefs. If you don't resonate with it and want just a good basic primer for a framework, I would recommend something like "Dzogchen: The Self Perfected State" by Norbu. Just remember that you already beyond a lot of the beginning stuff.

I think Boundless raises an interesting question on the view. If you take the above statement... If the seer [drik, the ego] and the seen [drisya, the world] were different in their reality [sat], the act of seeing would never possible. But since seeing is possible, know that they [the seer and the seen] have one and the same reality. It is kind of like a circular logic statement... And, the first statement is not necessarily true. There could easily be a me that consists only of my own consciousness (within an objective reality) and a separate table that exists independent from me. I "see" it and it exists, but the seeing is only a reflection in my own mind space. Hence, the seer and seen would not necessarily be one and the same reality. My "wood" color could be very different than the actual "wood" color.

You are welcome. Feel free to ask more questions if you want. Either here or in a pm. You are at the beginning stages of a major roller coaster ride and most of the things you will read in books are totally clueless. Given your background, I highly recommend that you read and spend some time studying the Gospel of Thomas. It has a lot of stuff that will start to make sense to you now. Also, we have a discussion of it going in the forums. Not a lot of Jesus fans here, but a strong few. Best, Jeff

Very cool. The energy moving through you is part of the balance stuff (transmission) that I mentioned. Also, you opened your throat (5th chakra) to some extent too when you touched me like that. You may now notice more subconsciously happening around you in your environment. Also, some of this shift may be now fixed permanently, while some is kind of like temporary drafting. But, in catholic terms, you are now feeling the power of the Holy Spirit flowing through you. My checking on you and your touching me is based upon the "Oneness in Christ" stuff that Jesus talks about in the gospels. Could even call it the Jesus "phone network" if you want.
