I guess that I would say that the theory is close, but not the same frequency stuff. That link describes the view at the heart chakra, or sort of the beinning of hearing/feeling such stuff. In your case, you are already beyond that and hearing tones that relate to you connecting to others and your broader environment. At the next depth/tone, you will start getting more of what people call 3rd eye stuff.
-
Cool stuff. I have found that there are sort of different vibrational "tones" and different layers of consciousness/mind.
-
Excellent question. But, I think most traditions seem to take the same view about moving past suffering and the associated attachment.

Regarding number 3... You currently are accessing both Jing and Qi (not really Shen yet). The difference between the two will be noticed most easily in out in nature. Jing is your local body flows, but at your level, your Qi currently will extend out to your surrounding environment. Sit quietly and peacefully with a tree and see what you get. You may also notice it flowing with a powerful/clear teacher. Broader interaction will help with your expansion.

From the Lankavatara sutra... When the twofold passions are destroyed, and the twofold hindrances are cleared away, and the twofold egolessness is fully understood, and the inconceivable transformation death of the Bodhisattva is attained – that which remains is the self-nature of the Tathagatas. When the teachings of the Dharma are fully understood and are perfectly realized by the disciples and masters, that which is realized in their deepest consciousness is their own Buddha-nature revealed as Tathagata. And also to your question... However, there is another sense in which the Tathagatas may be said to be permanent. Transcendental Intelligence rising with the attainment of enlightenment is of a permanent nature. This Truth-essence which is discoverable in the enlightenment of all who are enlightened, is realizable as the regulative and sustaining principle of Reality, which forever abides. The Transcendental Intelligence attained intuitively by the Tathagatas by their self-realization of Noble Wisdom, is a realization of their own self-nature, -- in this sense the Tathagatas are permanent. The eternal-unthinkable of the Tathagatas is the "suchness" of noble Wisdom realized within themselves. It is both eternal and beyond thought. It conforms to the idea of a cause and yet is beyond existence and non-existence. Because it is the exalted state of Noble-Wisdom, it has its own character. Because it is the cause of highest Reality, it is its own causation. Its eternality is not derived from reasonings based on external notions of being and non-being, nor of eternality nor non-eternality. Being classed under the same head as space, cessation, Nirvana, it is eternal. Because it has nothing to do with existence and non-existence, it is no creator; because it has nothing to do with creation, nor with being and non-being, but is only revealed in the exalted state of noble Wisdom, it is truly eternal. .

No problem, but I would not say that it would be creating more room for ego you. Maybe think of it more like two polarities of a pendulum (male and female side energies). Everyone's pendulum swing range and speed is limited by issues and fears (ego stuff) that limit the movement of that pendulum. The spillover I was describing is when there is too much energy/flow for the pendulum range (clear space of mind).
-
Yes, the two of you have similar energy body configurations. Will send you a pm directly to discuss.
-
Your case is a little more complicated, as you have higher energies streaming in at the crown. So it is not just your own "local" energy affecting local mind state and the ability to imagine stuff. It would be more like your imagining would "spill over" to things and people around you. If you ever want to try an experiment, we could create a little more "space" for you (or more power) and see if it became easier for you to imagine stuff. Kind of like create a little cove in the flow of the river.

Just let me know if you have any more specific questions after the links that karen so graciously posted.

Sure. Reply here or in a pm?

My point was not to disagree with you, as I am completely confident that you do have 3rd eye visions. It was more to make a finer differentiation, that in general it is not as simple as conscious or 3rd eye. That many would call it 3rd eye, but it is actually more like my anger example of a "local" subconscious translation of the energy in the mind. It is very common for those who are only open to the 4th or 5th chakra to feel/sense energy that they don't consciously comprehend and have the mind translate that into some vision (or vivid dream) before the are actually open at the 3rd eye. In particular, Spotless's friend story above describes it well. With great clarity it is a direct knowing of energy/light as there really is nothing to see. But for most, that energy reflect/translates into local mind and creates an "arising". All seeing is such a translation, with the difference that I am trying to describe being whether the underlying energy that is being translated is more at a "universal" consciousness level (like your teachers energy) or more a "local" mind-body level.
-
The differentiaion that I am trying to point out would probably be more like when you become angry. It happens and you can't really control it, but it is a "local" thing in your mind. The energy of the situation is causing a subconscious response. Just imagine it like instead of having anger arise in your mind as a response mechanism, instead you had a vision arise.
-
I am not saying that there are not such things, but how do you know that it is not simply your subconscious mind making up mental imagery? At the level of conscious mind, it would just appear to you.

Good stuff. Thank you.

As your earlier post states, I think that it may relate to the dropping of sexual desire as one raises the energy higher. One is "strong like a horse", but retracts (does not use the sexual energy). This happens as the male and female energy sides integrate into one. At a physical level, the energy flows are greater at night (while mind quiet/sleeping), sort of like one is having sex with oneself. That resulting "hard on" is like when aroused and pulls up the testicles.

The opening of the heart is more like a radiating out. Kind of like a sharing with others. Sort of like a hug to the world. It can also feel like vibrations or pressure at the heart, but it does not really affect the actual heart beat.

Sorry, no. In the analogy, the chalk writing is the "form", the blackboard is more the the potential for form to exist. If you want to think of the Dao as like space, then maybe like space the contains infinite potential.
-
I don't really see the Dao akin to space, but I think the space is an analogy relative to moving beyond just focusing on form. Maybe think of it like a chalk on a blackboard. We tend to only notice the writing on the blackboard, but not the blackboard itself. The Dao is more like the blackboard that the "chalk" emerges from.

I get that you want to start an argument with me, but not really sure what your argument point is? What is it that you are arguing with me about? If it helps, all of the bathrooms in my house have a window.
-
Another excellent one... What you see, hear and taste are all simply translations in the (local) mind. Desiring and attachment to things lead you further further from the Dao (and more ego focused). A Sage is guided by what he knows/feels in is heart and not what is shown/translated in his mind. He lets go of these images/arising and focus feeling/knowing the Dao. (this chapter is also specifically about "astral" stuff)

Here is my view on chapter 11... The fifteen layers of consciousness (each with 2 polarities - 30 spokes) make up the multiverse; But it is the underlying Dao that allows their existence. Just like one shapes clay into a bowl, it is the "space within" the form that give it use. In the same way, without doors and windows, a room has no use. Similarly, it is critical to notice what is underneath or what form is made up of, as it points the way to the Dao (and that is very useful ).

Chapter 10 is a very deep and interesting one for me. It hits me on many higher level spiritual issues/aspects that I personally deal with... The key is the integration of the three layers of existence; body, soul and "all" (or the one). Once this is realized, can you avoid getting caught up in one of the layers, and notice the newness of it all (like a newborn baby). While in this primordial state, you can easily clear all issues and fears. And with the power of this clarity, can you treat all equally and with no attachment? When you have realized and can share with others (open gates of heaven), can you be fully open and supportive ("role of a woman")? Fully realized and sharing, are you able to let go wanting to teach and lead? Giving access and nourishing, but not worrying about recognition and taking credit? Leading and showing, while no one ever really notices, this is the highest virtue.

Checking on you I found that you have high levels of energy flow at the crown. In your case it is probably just that the flow is so great that it is hard to form such mental conceptions. Think of it like you are flowing in a fast moving river, and do that broader (local) mind imagining you need to be closer to the shoreline with a little bay. If you ever want to try any experiments on it, just let me know.

I was describing that forgiveness is the "letting go" of some powerful attachment. As an example, say that you are super angry at some person, and constantly thinking about how you really hate that person. Such thinking of hating that person is based upon some subconscious focus of some past memory (of hurt) that drives your ongoing "sheer habitual force". If one truly lets go of (forgives) the underlying memory, the sheer habitual hate force will naturally drop. The "hating" is the ongoing (subconscious) action, while "true" forgiveness is really the letting go (and hence absence) of action.
