Both you and your teacher have reached the point where you can "transmit" beyond your local mind space. It happens in dreams because you have not yet reached the point of doing it at a conscious level. Also, consider that it could be you visiting your teacher instead of him visiting you.

When a child makes fun of other children, it is hard to see how that is an example of innocence.
-
Is a joke funny when it is at the expense of others? Such just lowers the energy of all around. Let us hope that Manitou is correct and it was a simple misunderstanding.

Just listen... not judge or try to discern... Quiet the mind and just listen...

Ok, for those who don't want to be carefree like a child playing, another suggestion... Just listen to some good music and feel the smile grow from your heart and spill out to your face. The key is "just listening"...

3 kids of my own. Big difference between desire and peace when residing in the moment.

Karl, A child that is throwing a tantrum is one that has started to reason, to desire, to want. They attempt to demand to impose their sense of reason on existance and when existance does not do what it says, happiness is lost. Hence, with your own expample, you have proven my formula... Best, Jeff

Consider a young child just playing with no worries... that is happiness. Reason without fundamental clarity, is the basis for suffering. Being natural or one with existence would be true happiness for a Taoist. So consider the possibility of something like... Existence - Reason = Happiness. Be like a child, don't think about it and go with the flow...

Hi BES, Yes, I think we have moved from the OP and this topic might be better (and interesting) as a new thread. Also, my comments really just started as a spinoff of a Rumi quote, where I added the raging fire song to give perspective of the passion of Rumi for God in his teachings (not a slow burn). But, I should say that I was not just talking about divine (or higher) energies in the above. It would be more like hitting all frequencies at once, or if you prefer earthly energies rising and given more space (and hence the peace/bliss) to work by the divine. Best, Jeff

We all definitely all have our own paths to follow, but again I still think we are talking about different things. The fire/grace that I am talking about comes with what Jesus would call "the peace that passes all human understanding". Other traditions might call it something like spontaneous perfection. The issues and fears spontaneously release as they come up.

I totally agree that balance is all. But, I think you may misunderstand the nature of the fire that I am talking about, and with the nature of the Rumi quotes. The fire does not rage the body, it clears the obstructions that make the body frail in the first place. Also, one realizes that they were never really (or limited to) the body in the first place. That "fire" has another name, it is called "grace" (of God). To give another persptice, from Kashmir Shaivism, The Secret Surpreme by Swami Lakshmanjoo. I have included the description of the first two types of grace/raging fires... ................... In the kingdom of spirituality. Lord Siva creates masters and disciples through His fifth act, the act of grace (anugraha). This grace is ninefold and, therefore. He creates masters and disciples in nine different ways. The first and highest level of grace is called tivrativra sak-tipata. Tivrativra saktipata means "super supreme grace." When Lord Siva bestows super supreme grace on anyone, then that person becomes perfectly self-recognized. He knows his real nature completely and in perfection. At the same time, however, this kind of intense grace can not be resisted by his body, so he throws away his body and dies. This person becomes a master; however, he accomplishes the act of his mastery secretly in the deserving hearts of disciples. He is not visible in this world. Only those who are deserving experience his subtle existence. The second intensity of grace is called tivramadhya saktipa-ta. This is "supreme medium grace." The effect of this grace of Lord Siva is that the recipient becomes completely and per-fectly illumined, but does not leave his body. He is said to be a pratibha guru, that is, a master who is made not by another master's initiation, but by his self, by his own grace. He experiences spontaneous enlightenment. These particular masters live in this world with their physical bodies for the upliftment of mankind.

And one more for Rumi fans, the true fire destroys all blocking it's way... While the thought of the Beloved fills our hearts, All our work is to do Him service and spend life for Him. Wherever He kindles His destructive torch, Myriads of lovers' souls are burnt therewith. The lovers who dwell within the sanctuary Are moths burnt with the torch of the Beloved's face.” O heart haste thither, for God will shine upon you, And seem to you a sweet garden instead of a terror. He will infuse into your soul a new soul, So as to fill you, like a goblet, with wine. - The Masnavi

Are you not the Tao?
-
I would disagree... A raging fire will burn away all of the issues, fears and obstructions that obscured in the first place... Leaving only the Tao..
-
Ok, if I remotely check on you? See if I can make any specific suggestions? Best, Jeff

Beautifully said. But rather than just a candle, I would say you want a raging fire. This song carries the heart of my point... www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTedaWpPjto

That is a sign that you are actually doing it correctly and beginning to perceive beyond your local mind (imagination). Congrats!

I think that anyone who has worked with me in any meaningful (or ongoing) way will tell you that I explain everything in excruciating detail. Most say that I tend to over explain things with specific details. The issue is that everyone has a different framework and perceptional level/capacity. As an example, some people feel things and some people see thing, and many do no actual practices or have ever experienced "energy". Hence, I tend to taylor my explanations and responses to the person I discussing the issue/topic with directly. But, if you (or anyone) has any specific (real) questions that you would like me to answer, just send me a pm with the questions and I will post my responses in a new thread. Whenever possible, with these questions, i will make my responses as generic as possible for the posts. If someone, would rather have just a individual/personal pm response to their question, please notify me, as I will assume that they want a nonspecific/generic answer for the broader group.

Now, I think that is a very unfair statement. While I will give quotes to support my positions, I have always tried to use simple examples and explationations for my points. Even in the recent shielding thread, I have broken it down in various examples. Again, I would suggest that you look at what happens when I attempt to explain things in detail. The "with any realization" thread has the kind of stuff that I believe people are looking for and look what happened there. Please review that thread and tell me what you think?
-
Since there is really no such thing as a defined "light group" (just a term made up by some bums here), I assume that you really mean that you want me to have a Q&A thread? My endless posts on mystical Christianity and threads like "with any realization" are not enough?
-
Yes, as I stated in my pm message, I did not expect you to take me up on my offer. But, with what you radiated in your suffering from severe fatigue posts and threads, I felt that I should offer again. Best, Jeff

Count me in.

With your description and use of "inferior" beings, I think I may have created some confusion with my shooting analogy. Other than trying to explain potential issues of how shield may be ineffective, with the shooting example, I was talking about the level of the energy itself. As an example, you may be 6' tall, but if you are raditating (or shooting) anger at someone, that would be shooting from like a 3' height. In general, levels of "refinement" of energy is probably better than any concept of beings being superior or inferior.

Sounds like a very wise and wonderful teacher. Thank you for sharing.
