Hi NoviceMonk, Is it ok if I remotely "energetically" scan you? See if I can make any specific suggestions/help? Best, Jeff

Hi Dreambliss, I would agree that this can be a difficult concept to wrap your head around. In that framework, one must realize that everything is "in" and "of" God. Any concept of yours or mine breaks down that connection/oneness with God. What the book is saying is that when one naturally and freely gives, there is no loss. The giving is more of a "flow through" and it is replenished by God. This concept can most easily be seen with energy healing. If you think of it as "your" energy, one quickly becomes fatigued and worries about losing your vital energies. If on the other hand, you see yourself as more of a conduit of the energy flowing, you quickly realize that the energy is basically unlimited. Also, if you are looking for a similar concept in the biblical gospels, I would suggest that your read Jesus's story of the good servants in Matthew 25:14-30... The punch line is... "For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath." Regards, Jeff

While I was not really a fan of the thread, I am opposed to the hiding/deleting of any thread. Would seem to be better to just lock it and then leave it.

MS, I have to say that this comment of yours saddens me very much. I am not surprised that TI would stoop so low that he would post stuff where he would make comments (and try to drawn in) about my daughter based on some email discussion from maybe 8-10 years ago, but I am surprised that you would be supportive of it. Yes, TI has read endless books, but the fact you see him as spiritually advanced and that I should follow his advice is also very puzzling to me. As you personally and directly know, I can easily demonstrate everything I have said. Additionally, I think it is fair to say that I have always attempted to explain in full detail all of the energetic happenings. Best, Jeff

Ok, now I am really confused. This seems to be a lot of drama... So you and Apech (and several others) spend time hanging out in the chatroom talking about how I am ruining the bums with all of the energy stuff that I am doing in the chatroom? When I am obviously not doing that, because I am not even in the chatroom because you guys are always there? Or are you saying that Apech has been fighting with me, but somehow everyone forgot to tell me that I was in the middle of a fight? Honestly, no need to respond to either of those questions (meant as a joke). I have always found you to be a fair, open minded and good moderator. I have also considered you to be a friend here at the bums and hope we can continue to be. I hope we can all move beyond this stuff. And as I mentioned to Apech earlier today, I would be happy to self ban myself from the chatroom if you think it would help put an end to this drama/topic. Best, Jeff

Honestly, I don't get it... A few years ago, a bunch of us used to do some energy experiments in chat. That was when chat was rarely used and all of the feedback seemed to be pretty positive. Those group experiments more or less died out as people moved on. I personally have really not been much in the chat room at all over the last year. Just showed up recently a while back at the request of a forum member to try to "feel some energy". That one time seems to have somehow created the recent controversy. After that event, Dawei notified me that the mod team had decided that there should be no further group energy activity in the chatroom as there had been some concern that the chatroom was supposed to be only for chat. I was totally fine with it, and even volunteered to personally ban myself from the chatroom if there was specific concern related to the energy impact that I might have with my presence. Dawei told me that there was no need and that I should just not do any group energy work in the chatroom. And that was the end of the issue from my perspective. Since that time, I have been in the chatroom twice. Once to talk privately with MS. And the second time where I did talk with Apech. In both cases, I thought it was simply a pleasant and open discussion.

As far as I know there is no conflict between Apech and myself. We rarely, but periodically pm. Over the years we have had some good discussions and collaborated on some threads together (like christian mysticism and the gospel of Thomas).

As you described, the living master of lineage is not just a recepiant of oral understanding and teachings, but also a manifest vehicle that transcends "time" for the lineage to flow through into the world. And wisdom is wisdom, truth is truth, and clarity is clarity. Those with greater clarity radiate into the world. That "radiating" into the world creates a broader channel for all lineages. Kind of like a bigger broadband signal that can be piggybacked and enhance other lineages that may not have as rich of a living "DNA" in the world. This is most easily seen by how living masters seem to automatically understand the meaning of ancient texts of other religions. As they continue to open, the lineages shine through them like overlapping concentric circles. This expanded radiating finds those with the capability to receive which may or may not relate to the original first lineage. The greater the depth/clarity, the more lineages that are encompassed and radiate through. With truly great clarity, dharma itself can be changed and all the world (and all lineages) can be enhanced/upgraded. Such beings of clarity are described as the Maitreya Buddha (or second coming - Christian gospels).

Very well said. Thank you for the gift. I might add that those newer manifestations (based upon their relative depth) could also have the potential to be sort of like a network connection (or flow through mechanism) for the reestablishment of other non-directly related lineages.

Moving on to verse 38, how about this one...? 38. Jesus said, "Often you have desired to hear these sayings that I am speaking to you, and you have no one else from whom to hear them. There will be days when you will seek me and you will not find me."

Resting your mind on something is not the same as thinking about it
Jeff replied to dwai's topic in General Discussion
Very good way to describe it. -
I would agree and think as Jonesboy stated it goes to the nature of one's self perspective. In particular, in those times, many were judged by what they wore. Impressive clothes were a sign of weath and success. Throwing away such things and trampling on them is like throwing away worldly attachments and not caring about what others think about you in the process.

Trying again on the Gospel of Thomas... 37. His disciples said, "When will you appear to us, and when will we see you?" Jesus said, "When you strip without being ashamed, and you take your clothes and put them under your feet like little children and trample then, then [you] will see the son of the living one and you will not be afraid." Any thoughts on this verse?

Sorry to be picky... But if you are resting your mind on something specifc, you are maintaining subject - object separation. That aspect is an example of thinking as you are acting as there is some place to go separate from where you would normally rest/reside. -

Is not single point focus, still single point focus? But I would agree with you if you mean thinking about thinking (like a step removed). To me, the difference is thinking about feeling your hand as compared to just sensing/feeling/residing with your hand. -
I would agree that you should find a good teacher. Books as a whole are useless with the high energy flows (Kundalini) as it is not a "one size fits all" process. A good teacher can monitor the activity in your energy body and guide you with your specific bumps along the road.

Zen is buddhism with a specific view on "mind". Like with the Yogacara school of buddhism.

I think BES hit it well. Also, I think the teachings of Jesus in the gospels are very much aligned with the Tao...

For me, I would say "vibrancy". Like all of the atoms are resonating in harmony...

Seeing, Recognising & Maintaining One's Enlightening Potential - Split
Jeff replied to manitou's topic in Buddhist Discussion
I think that it is actually possible. While there is nothing that needs to be different or changed, I think the natural radiation is to what to help other realize... And hence that "remaining desire" could translate to changing the world. -

Agreed, put if everything is "perfect", then who and why is one still trying to change stuff? Think it could be somehow related to the translated meaning of the word perfect?
