Hmm I think there are some awesome insights coming about from this topic, thank you. I am thinking that the idea posited in the book I read is more along the lines of taming your perceptions of duality; as though to say you CAN be an immortal wise sage and still drink alcohol, coffee, and sodas. In a sense that true mastery is a non-duality... habits and lifestyles make little difference in contrast to exercising the ability involved. In some cases, its a roundhouse or an hour long session of horse stance, on other cases, it is mindful breath awareness meditation or consistently practicing astral projection. I think that lifestyle, habits, addictions, and diet are a lot lower on the list of importance than what we make them out to be. FOR A REASON. That while, yes we CAN be immortal wise practitioners while living a promiscuous life of sex, drugs, and alcohol, doing so SUCCESSFULLY is easier without distractions. IF You are so much more focused on practice that your lifestyle, habits, addictions, and diet make no impact, then maybe that's all it boils down to, a "study aide", however I think it requires a certainly high level of dedication and focus..

i have this awesome mind power to look into and percieve any point place moment or scene within all of infinity. Sadly, the immense omnitude of infinity makes it hard to find my own life.

i could be dying right now. bleeding to death because someone broke into my house with a firearm, and i attacked them thinking i could be immortal, killed them with unarmed martial arts, got arrested for manslaughter or something, and attaked the police, got shot in the spine and paralized from the waist down. And still, today would be pretty good all around.

The All Encompassing Infinitesimal Omniversal Unity is what I believe in. This is the idea that every part of every part of every infinite part of every infinite part, etc. is/are connected and interact in infinite ways; that we are but a single part of an infinite whole, all together of which is/are unlimited in scope, depth, breadth, width, and moment. Our perceptions are but such few of the whole, each perception as unique as the next, last, and even copious copies. Words are insufficient for the idea.

At the core of it all, there is an instinctual/"autonomous" initiative. We can do these things very easily without a thought. It is thinking too much that furthers our distance from this goal.
