Why are some autistic people so talented?
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan replied to Kombaiyashii's topic in General Discussion
I live with a family whose oldest son, almsot 5 years old, is autistic. It's a struggle every day to work with him, as most times he has a mentality of a 1 or 2 year old and throws tantrums at every little thing he doesnt like. In my experience with him, it is obvious his mind never shuts down, slows, or calms. he hates sleep or trying to go to sleep and can and will run rampant for over 36 hours if we dont put efforts into wearing him out during the day. He is very talented with the strictly logical aspect of the mind, but has no sense of intuition or external emotion (i.e. he doesnt give a shit if you feel anything at all, you're just one of his resources for what he cant get on his own), but is highly sensitive of his own feelings and ideas. He isnt incapable of learning, he's proven this very quickly with his speech improvements and pattern recognition, but he is highly reluctant or outright unwilling to learn some things, like potty training or speech improvements. He is not an evil person or a bad person, he isnt wrong for what he does, but he doesnt make it easy to work with him, often times deliberately so because he feels in control of people by the way they react to him, like he is making them react in one way or another. when you react in an unexpected way, sometimes he reacts violently to even positive reactions, because it's not what he expected. His capacity for intelligence is showing tremendous potential, but the path to acquiring it will be long and fought tooth and nail. -

my philosophy is like, yin and yang are totally equivelancy to binary and that there is this gigantic infinite nothingness full of yins and yangs. The ultimate RPG that designs itself and creates it's own AI as well as real inteligence, plus supplies it's own players and EVERYTHING. Thsslksttllywsm This is like so totally awesome. And herb. herb is good. i love putting mixes of herbs in my ramen. it's the tops. orageno, for example, works great with chicken flavor, and parsley is perfect for almsot everything. And misspelling. it's philosophical: And msplieslnig. It's paiohsciholpl: okay so that college study doesnt apply to "philosophical" pie oh sci holpl?

Taoist Temple Forcibly Demolished, Henan Province, China
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan replied to Stigweard's topic in Daoist Discussion
Such as practice, cultivation, Taijiquan, Qi Gong, and the spirit. We dont need to spend too much time worrying about what has happened, but what we will continue doing in the face of a tragic event. This shouldnt be a give up moment, but a pay-off in disguise. -
I tend to eat more on days i practice less. And it's a destructive cycle, because the more i eat, the less i want to or try to practice, but it is also easy to break, just simply by practicing before i eat. When i practice all day, i work up a great appetite, but only need to eat maybe once throughout the day, unless i go for another extensive round of stretches, exercises, stances, katas, and forms. Sometimes all it takes is 20 situps and im starving, other times, i go for 60 at once and need no more than something to drink. The fluccuating frequencies of life... ebbs and flows, waxing and waning, highs and lows, it all just depends on where you are. Sometimes the weather controls your mood, sometimes your mood controls the weather.

Well hey, maybe your mind is expanding and awareness has gained a new level of perspective. I dont know what to make of it, because Honestly, i dont have much time to practice anything like this myself. for now i jsut visualize and breathe. it's all i can do. But in the past, i've spent a great deal of time meditating on concepts of reality and i can only say that no matter how reality reacts to you, it's give and take, so sooner or later you'll be reacting to reality much the same im not helping am i?

Toying with the idea of replacing Vicodin with reefer for pain mgmt.
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Well it looks like everythimng here is basically wrapped up, but i wanted to add a few nickles or dimes (if it's a penny for a thoughts then.... here, have these free of charge ) In my experience, Cannabis has varying effects, depending on the strain and potency thereof, but there is an overall truth that it amplifies, or intensifies, whatever the active mindset of the user is. For example, some people say it dulls pain, or makes it more apparent, some say it makes you stupid, some say smart. I say the reason for these contrasts is that it heightens the mentality of the user at the time. If you're trying to mentally block out the pain, the pot amps that effort and succedes in blocking pain. If you're wanting to be stupid and do dumb things just for shits and giggles, you're likely to get run over by a slow moving tractor or rhinoceros... depending on where you licve, maybe both. The point i want to make above all, is that it is good for this purpose of raising the mentality output. I like to use it for a before-and-after workout because it keeps me focused while im trying to be, and helps me relax afterward and reflect on the work out and workouts of past. There are always drawbacks, and the depletion of energy is one i "use". By working out harder and harder with less and less energy, i believe i manage to build my energy usage effeciency. The munchies also aide me in building a "hunger resistence" as long as i dont sate them. I hope that's at least somewhat useful. Just as alcohol has it's harms, it also has it's benefits. you can eitehr get drunk, or you can steralize a knife. Pot might amplify the mindset, but it is the responsibility of the user to moderate their usage and mentality. -
2012 Re-Birth "Re_naissance"

I have a thought for the first page about cultural fusion into the west. It's ground zero for the corporate culture control. Just food for thought, even though i know it wont help anyone feed themselves, sorry! -
Anarchy works best among people who do not value universalized trade objects, I.E. money. The work that gets done provides the resources and amenities to live from. Balancing survival with living. When we attribute arbitrary value denotations to objects, places, and activities or services, they become covetable. When the objects, places, and activities or services are just as they are, we see them in terms of necesity rather than want. and by removing the "wantemptation" we have a ground for anarch prosperity. Or even any political prosperity at all. It's not an easy sell. It's a damned near impossible sell... but then again, im not trying to sell it, but to give it away freely for the betterment of all Humankind.

Why is my thread being moved?
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan replied to Informer's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Im not going to knock it or call you out, but i would like to place note that politics have a great deal to do with spirituality, usually in the inhibitor factors. While it might not be directly related to how to cultivate, it can usually be linked to how to make widespread cultivation more readily available to people, however, the problem is that everyone argues that their way is the right way. So more often than not a political discussion wont outline anything about spirituality or energic cultivation, but even when it is not mentioned, subtle clue-ins are frequently mentioned and even mroe frequently dismissed or ignored. That being said, i dont know what level of indiscussion we reached, but im sure i will keep tabs on some of these threads even in off topic and see about more spiritual topics within. -
Meditation is not a good way for practising
Vanir Thunder Dojo Tan replied to Lao Tzu's topic in Daoist Discussion
im sure there might be instances of meditation on a zen path, but i dont think there is any ultimate focus on it either, so i doubt the possibility of any real "bad way" to walk the zen path. Unless it's not even zen, then it's probably, i dunno, political? -
I've spent durations thinking about and/or meditating on pushing past 64 hexagrams. I decided i would eventually spend time working out 4096 "dodecagrams" or "double hexagrams". I've spent a lot of time thinking about the possibilities of gaining further understanding of the flows and cycles of life/reality by observing the changing patterns of simple full and halved bars (trigrams, hexagrams, etc.) I'll ponder the nature of what results i may or may not have incurred.

Perhaps you might know what the ancient sages promoted as a good way of pursuit? The so called zen paths tend to seem appealing to me -

I think the fulcrum of the (non-)dualism seesaw is more like a cone than a wedge, and a balancing act of multitudes over 2 directions. Seesaws usually go up on one end and down on the other, this one does that, but spins and tips on both axes; it has "yin-yang" motion on all 3 dimensions, X, Y, and Z.
