  1. Quite the contrary, "dead chi" objects and items, such as computers, TVs, Videogames, and odds 'n' ends actually use our chi and have a tremendous impact on us. Some good, others, not so good. We can, for example, infuse an object with good chi to act as a ward, or allow our chi to be drained by the latest game and develop furious anger tendencies.

  2. I'm not fully aware of the technical aspects (5-E whazat?) I jsut try to practice and stay healthy. I know very little as for the matter of chi cultivation, but enough TO cultivate. I want to learn enough and DO enough to help not only myself, but others who need it.

  3. Do you use precious gems for meditation or opening chakras?

"but what do I know " But what you do know. Personal experience is better than "blind speculation".
  4. ah, lucked out and found it right away:

    http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?/topic/14939-currency/

Not quite "chi is free" but close:

    Currency is "dead" chi.

    Chi is "living "currency"".

    :) Enjoy.

  5. In my private practice, under my previous UN: Stoner Shadow Wolf... or at least i believe this is where it is/was...?

I have mentioned the chi... compared to money... essentially suggesting chi is free, money is at a price. dont have time (now) to verify, sorry.

  6. Rooting

Rooting? How much like grounding is this? See y'all next week... in about 10 minutes... P.S. from what i gathered, this is like an extended grounding to add visualizing 'energic roots' protruding downward through the world into the earth and sharing your energies.

Where could somebody [else] find these out for themselves, and what means can we find to validate this information? First stop, dictionary, look up "incorporate" and "corporate". That's the best i can offer in·cor·po·rate 1    /v. ɪnˈkɔrpəˌreɪt; adj. ɪnˈkɔrpərɪt, -prɪt/ Show Spelled [v. in-kawr-puh-reyt; adj. in-kawr-per-it, -prit] Show IPA verb, -rat·ed, -rat·ing, adjective verb (used with object) 1. to form into a legal corporation. 2. to put or introduce into a body or mass as an integral part or parts: to incorporate revisions into a text. 3. to take in or include as a part or parts, as the body or a mass does: His book incorporates his earlier essay. 4. to form or combine into one body or uniform substance, as ingredients. 5. to embody: His book incorporates all his thinking on the subject. 8. Spontaneous Movement Qigong

Whoops, i'm sorry, i got a little ahead of myself. What you are presenting is completely different from what i had initially interpreted.... Also, i didnt see the videos at first, slow internet. I will check one of them out... but this isnt the topic i had expected it to be... {edit:} Well, i do have some experience with the on-topic, but it was more, or less, self induced, to my knowledge. While getting stoned during a time when i was first introduced to many of the energetic concepts such as chakras, siddhis, and t'ai chi, i would convulse much like some of the people in the second video, but there were no qi gong masters present, so i beleive it was more along the lines of self-healing. I've had many times in the past, around that same time, when i would twitch about while trying to sleep, including the head turning and nodding. I beleive that i am on a correct path to understanding the nature of these energies, but not so correct as to know where i am along it. I've no guidance but the abstract internet readings and personal experimentation and practice. How's that saying go...? I've got a fool for a teacher/student?
  9. The zeitgeist movement - even your parrot can spread the word

i do desire this... perhaps it is time to say goodbye to my surrogate family and a see-ya-later to the tao bums... Maybe, maybe not. The goal has been to find work, go to college here, learn about physical fitness, wellness, and therapy, while making money to support myself and learn more about martial arts, first-hand. I think i will leave when my goal is met, as i dislike the desert in contrast to the forest. Dont get me wrong, there is much beauty here, but it is not to my comfort. I'll teach other drifters along the way
  10. Breathing & Head-Rush

PERFECT. Thank you, this is a perfect explination which helps a lot. It is something i have already noticed but wasnt sure how to go about it, and have a hard time keeping it from reaching/passing the throat unless i try to keep it in my abdominal area. the up and down thing is perfect and i should focus more on that, thanks. Aye, it is actually quite uplifting. Although this is wonderful, i am still more concerned as to the nature of the head rush; good/bad? I want to say moderation, because it seems like i am as though ascending beyond my body, but i want to say keep away, as i have no understanding of the possible reprecautions. If you're brave, try it sitting down: Bend over and relax, exhale completely. Inhale deeply as you rise and bend backwards, compressing the air in your lower abdomen. maybe 'sip' a bit of air in to further compact, and hold it, pushing it down. Feel in the lightheadedness, observe it, and then exhale. I've done this and felt so completely detatched from this world that i had no idea what i was doing or where i was going for about 15 seconds, yet i was still completely aware of it all. Scary; this is why i started a thread. I must know of the possible dangers of this, aside from the obvious accidentally walking into traffic.
  11. Spontaneous Movement Qigong

For my back, which has been hit with a sort of scoliosis due to many years of inactivity and slouching in front of a computer all day. One day, quite out of the blue, i bent over to touch my toes and barely made it to my knees before my legs spiked out in pain. I knew something was up and knew why. So i began looking more and more in to physical fitness and came into Yoga, Chakras, T'ai Chi & Qi Gong, and Martial Arts. The martial arts had always been fascinating and inspiring, but never present, sadly. So i began stretching and discovering more problems with my body than i first realized and stressed to find solutions. I've written about this in my private practice board under my old name of Stoner Shadow Wolf. Long story short; I was worried about my back and didnt know anything i could do to help/fix it and decided to try 'experimenting' with movements and did what could only be described as spontanious T'ai Chi/Qi Gong ('chi kung'), as i moved around and shifted from stance to stance, position to position, not knowing what i was doing, only knowing.... it was working. My only real advice is to try it out some time. First hand experience is the best knowable teacher.
  12. Global Revolution!

First you use a more hostile paragraph, which is rather poking at the non-issue, then you add a more sincere paragraph, which was the only necessary remark. I've nothing against you, but you do seem somewhat trying to incite things a little, stir up the negativity, so to speak...
  13. Everyone post some favorite quotes!

  14. Breathing & Head-Rush

Great post, thank you. I can breathe from very deep in the abdomin, and have been practicing inconsistently for quite some time. I think i started practicing in about 2004 or 2005. I was practicing with holding the breath as per something i had read about breath retention; maybe over-did it a little? Now for a little clarity, i am not really uncomfortable with this experience of light-headedness, just concerned as to what the reprecautions might be.
  15. The zeitgeist movement - even your parrot can spread the word

What about out here in the Mojave Desert in southern California? Not many forests or trails
  16. Global Revolution!

How about me? I think it would be appropriate to at least give some sort of source or example of your statements. That, at least, is valid.
  17. Do you use precious gems for meditation or opening chakras?

Gemstones: ON TOPIC... My menial understanding of gemstones are as follows: Garnite is a blood purifyer and good for thyroid function, so i would imagine that it aides the throat chakras. Jet, Onyx, and (i forget the other black-type stone) are physical protection and defense, each with it's own specifics, but i cant remember specifics Opal is good for third eye activity and clairvoyance. That purple one, i forget, feburary's birthstone, is great for clairvoyance and psychic perceptions, and as such i would imagine great for the third eye. Sapphire and... er... Green... uh... feck are a little confused between the two... one is good for forming and understainding your own thoughts and presenting them, the other for more outward speech and external clairity. Agates and crystals are amplifyers of other stones' passive enhancements, and Diamonds are the mother of all amplifyers. Witch, get some rubies, cuz they enhance the sex drive Chakras: Okay so i have even less understanding of chakras, but enough to say: They spin, throb, breathe, 'grow' (open), and 'shrink' (close). They are "made" of light and energy with corresponding colors which you can meditate & focus on to accent their functions. I've recently heard there's a communal, brown, earth chakra below our feet, a knee chakra, and 2 chakras above the head, the spirit/soul, and the communal universe chakras. There are others i am a little more familiar with, from hte bottom up: Root/cajones/bottom eehh i forget by reference, but is around the belly button the solar plexus, mid/lower chest Heart/center chest Throat/thyroid/neck Third Eye/pineal gland/center of forehead between the eyes And Crown/top of head I barely know what im talking about here
  18. Global Revolution!

That is incredibly heavy. The part I bolded, even more so. This should be promoted and warned at every opportunity. Spread the word in whatever ways you can, as the very incorporation of the physical world to an immaginary prison is something that no one can seem to pin down.
  19. Living proof that qigong works!

Congrats! And well done. Dont forget to laugh! Never stagnate for long. always cycle through your life! Inhale, relax, exhale, hold, and invert it; Inhale, hold, exhale, relax.
  20. The zeitgeist movement - even your parrot can spread the word

Nature is a vast and tremendous ecology, an eco system wherein everything we do, or dont do, affects everything around us in massive and miniscule ways alike. {edit:} We are "slaves" to nature jsut the same as we are "slaves" to oxygen, H2O, and protien. We cannot exist without it and are in only that particular sense, "slaves" but all the same, this is still an inescapable heirchy of sorts. We DO work with nature, but we cannot rise above the natural laws without dire reprecussions.{/edit:} EVERY effort to be "free from" nature begets an inescapable reprecussion. EVERY effort to "free ourselves from nature" causes undue harm and even death to seemingly unrelated people, even possibly on the other side of the globe, so i must ask you this: Is my life worth flying in a jetpack to you? Would you allow me to die, if it were to allow you to become radiation-proof? Would you rather see the internet grow and humanistic tribes, villages, and towns shrink? Is it better to have a "free trade" to enhance technology, at the expense of human physical and psychological health and well being? What selfishness is this?
  21. Dr Yang, Jwing-Ming's Embryonic Breathing

hm... What time other than bed-time would i have to even concieve of practicing this... What would you suggest for one whose time belongs to others more often than not? Typically, the most "free time" i have is thursdays while i am out looking for work... Every week i get dropped off in town for 12+ hours, perhaps i should be more focused on practice...?
  22. What is Lao Tzu?

I seek to be a free man so i can come and go as i please. I dont want to be here unles by consciously acknowlageable choice, not as some pseudo-spiritual contracted chopice i cant remember or acknowlege. I dont know how to spell "acknowlege". Acknowledge? blah.
  23. The zeitgeist movement - even your parrot can spread the word

I said guide. Those dreamers already seeking lucidity would seek guidance, no? I need guidance though I'm no lucid dreamer, nor am I inclined to believe in the real-world!
  24. Global Revolution!

The problem we face here is sensationalization. People are always looking for the next big sensation, the next newest thing. Responsibly giving your life to the world it came from is too old to be sensational enough to form a crowd of listeners. all we can do is silently live by the right example, and die in peace, hoping people see the correctness of our ways.
  25. Global Revolution!

Debt graves it is. There is such a thing as too many people wherein the most sympathetic action is to thin the herd. Tribal people would not dominate a herd or domesticate their meat, but rather accent the herd, keep it strong by preying on the weak. Humans lack a higher power to keep them in check, to 'thin the herd' as it were. but we cant allow ourselves to grow so fat and sickly either. What do we do? There's the need to eat, but you cant gaurentee that a few farms can accomidate a large population. What do we do? What happens when there's plenty of gold, and no food?
