  6. The pursuit of happiness is the road to hell...

Then I should be unhappy as well. You see, when I look up at the sky and see how endless it is, I wish I could touch it but I wasn't born with wings to fly. I don't even have a limo that would take me where ever I want. My house is too small to house thousands of models that I don't have with me either. There are many more things I could gain to give me more happiness, but there are too many of them for me to own them all. Even worse, I could loose what I already have. If I loose my legs, I can only play basketball in a very sad way with my very sad team of sad legless players. No, I can't live like this. Take your marbles and live like that instead. Your happiness requires too much energy from me. I already have an endless source of happiness and the only one who can feel it is me. It is my own responsibility to be happy and I can do that myself. Being ripped apart chained down and put in a cage I can still have that and be happy. I don't need anything at all to be happy.

  14. What the !@#$ is Postmodernism?

Then let me make it make sense. Tao that can be named(or tao'd, as they say in that one thread) is not an eternal Tao. The reason is the moment it is given a name, it changes from what it was before. It was mystic and special and becomes mundane. If you put it on a pedestal where everyone can see it, people who see it everyday will get bored of it and loose interest. The same thing is with God, this is the reason it is forbidden to name God in many cultures, and in others God has many names because people get tired of the old ones. So the true Tao is not on a pedestal and outside of where curious taoists can grab it. At the same time it is like one of the extremes of the taiji. It's so yin that it becomes yang and so yang that it becomes yin. It's not anywhere so it must be everywhere. I'm not holding it in my hand but it is in my hand, you can't experience it yet you do anyway. It contradicts itself and eats it's own tail, that's what makes it what it is. Aw dang, I explained Tao perfectly and that means I'm wrong
  15. Webomicssss

an important announcement, that I should have put here days ago Yup, the American Elf is over, all 14 years of it. The world is in shock and cannot bear to live without it's most legendary webcomic ever. But know what, this shock awakened another sleeping beast. My most favorite webcomic person started thinking and thinking. Probably still thinking... I feel like rereading Inkdick for a thousandth time now...

  21. Advantages of starting from No-mind

Yup, it's like Tao personified and I don't have advantages like that We are living in a material world, let's call that yang world. Our thoughts are yin and the only way for some of us to communicate them is to turn our thoughts into yang so the other person wold turn the into yin again. Spoken words are yang, they can be recorded on tape and held in hand. When we hear these words we have an idea what they mean and they turn into thoughts in our heads. The whole world is perceived by senses like touch taste hearing and such, but the real world is still strange to us because we live in our heads with our thoughts. Shout out to Vmarco lol. Tao is a yin thing for our yang world which we perceive through our thoughts. The world that we think is yang is actually yin by nature. To understand Tao we need to translate it into yang, but that's impossible. Things that we express that were previously just in our minds are not the same the moment they materialize. When you're humming a song, it doesn't sound the same as the one you heard. The song the artist wrote doesn't sound the same way in their head, our instruments are made by hands and not the minds after all. So like that music we can make a yang container for Tao and just point in the right direction. It can be pointed at but it can never be brought into spotlight, it's like a vampire, it will stop being Tao. A person who is like that doesn't see the difference between yin and yang worlds and exists beyond that. When there is an accident somewhere in a desert where someone is dieing of thirst, they might see a person who have walked for days before an accident who sat on a plane for this very moment so they could walk towards the thirsty person with a bucket of water. A Taoist Master is like that, they see past the illusions and know the right time to be somewhere, walk down the street with their hand raised and have something fall right into it. You know about people with a strong manifestation power, whatever they want is found when they in any direction, it's like that. The world stays the same but the mind is different, get hungry and find some money for food. The money was always there but they weren't always hungry. The money was left by them long ago or someone dropped it. This money is energy and this energy is everywhere, they just found a way to notice and gather it. Another name for this energy is Shen Chi. A person has external wei chi and internal nei chi, chi that belongs to the world is called shen.
