Holy dooly !!! falling asleep state so many thieves in the night robbing us of sleep 'Tis an orthopaedic / homeopathic sleep system which addresses the need for correct sleep posture (i.e. orthopaedic spinal alignment and relieving pressure of sensitive areas) and correct sleep hygiene (i.e. none of the little nasties, allogens etc.) And yes I have seen personal results with people with FM conditions. Recently had a chap with Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) who went from hardly any sleep, waking with excrutiating pain every morning (i.e. having to roll out of bed onto hands and knees just to get up) , through to sound restful sleep and no pain in less then a year.

  7. What would you have done?

Cheers for all your comments. Hope y'all don't mind if I print this out and share it with Carolyn. In terms of how she reacted she became quite locked up emotionally and wasn't able to say what she trully wanted to say. The Doc was very domineering and partially turned the outburst into a personal attack (or at least that is how Carolyn perceived it). It is hard to find the appropriate response when you have allowed yourself to become emotionally backed into a corner and if you can overcome your inaction then often you come out fighting which can be an inappropriate response. Carolyn is a Tai Chi student of mine and as she was relating the incident to me she was unconsciously displaying her emotional state through her body language (chest and shoulders withdrawn, hands up defending her heart). I always like people to discover there own answers so I guided her through some freeform taiji and then I got her to 'dance' how she felt when she was in the situation. Her body and movements became withdrawn and locked and then bust out into feral defensive aggression. I brought her back to her taiji centre with some breathing and Song Gong, and then asked her to physically express how she could have done better. Well her chest opened up, head upright, breathing was strong and steady and stance was relaxed. Carolyn's lesson: even in the most adverse situation, find your centre, feel your inner power, take a moment to breathe and let the most appropriate response reveal itself. I really appreciate all you comments here. Please explain further ... what are EFT PEAT and BSFF? Cheers for this.

  12. After Dao what?

Do you practice Taijiquan at all? Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows Tao, Tao follows its own nature. After Tao ... Tao. Before enlightenment: chop wood carry water ... after enlightenment chop wood carry water. Perhaps you are not asking the right question. To ask "After Tao what?" creates the duality that there is 'before Tao'. TTC ch14 Confront it, and you do not see its face. Follow it, and you do not see its back. ... If you hope to meet it, it has no part you can call front. If you hope to follow it, it has no place you can call behind. Once you have become Tao the distinctions of 'before and after' are no longer.

  17. Laziness

At one stage of my life I would have said I was lazy (my parents certainly did ). But the real cause of my inertia was that I really just didn't care. I had become so disillusioned with the world around me, so disillusioned with my own existance that I couldn't really give a stuff over what went on around me. I really couldn't care what happened to me. My inner flame began to wane and diminish. Maybe you were like me, growing up with that vague, nagging sense that, "God there's got to be more to life then this crap!" Fortunately I never let that inner flame completely go out. I always held onto the hope that, "Yes" there is in fact more to life, that "Yes" there is a deeper meaning to the apparent trivialities, and that "Yes" there was truly 'magic' in the world. As is the common case, my Kung Fu training led me to the Tao and learning Taijiquan and Qigong open the doors to the incredible world of greater awareness and Qi. Now, even as I right these words, I am immersed with unending gratitude for whatever guiding forces have led me to where I am today. In complete wonder at the awesomeness of this incredible gift of life, I know that the only justification I have for being alive, the only way I can repay this amazing experience, is to live each and every moment to its absolute fullest ... to grasp every moment and give the best of myself acting to the fullest of my knowledge and power. We are all Tao and Tao is us. Remove any one of us and the Tao diminishes. It is, in my opinion, our sole duty and obligation to dig deep within and excavate our true potential, our true nature, our Teh, and bring it forth into the world. And by doing so we enrich Tao and Tao enriches us.

  21. My fellow trees

On a couple of occasions, whilst engaging in freeform Taiji, I have felt the trees around me join in the dance share in the flow of energy. And there is nothing quite like hugging a tree for half and hour or so to drain off any negativity.
