Welcome Benjamin, find yourself a seat in amongst the good folk gathered here, how do you like your tea? I am familiar with Sifu Adam Mizner's work and I am sure his 'abilities' will be duly cross-examined here I hope his workshops are a great success and more's the pity that I won't have the opportunity to push hands with him and the folks that will attend the workshops. Blessings

Ahoy there matey ... your singing my tune now ! Tao is to be found in every plain old ordinary moment of life. The true 'proof' is someone who has achieved the five blessings: 1. Happiness 2. Longevity 3. Wealth (ho ho ... do I sense eyebrows being raised? Is not the earth bountiful? Are we not advised that: "Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows Tao and Tao follows its own nature, therefore we should first aim to follow the Earth ourselves." It is the natural wealth taught to us by the Earth that I refer.) 4. Health, and 5. Natural Death (unfortunately it maybe a little late to learn personally from someone if you wait to see if they have achieved this blessing ) Abilities are quagmire filled with false turns, dead ends, and mirages. I was a professional magician for 7 years so I know how incredibly easy it is to fool and mislead people. And just like your story Hundun, I have met numerous psychics and clairvoyants whose abilities were not grounded in virtuous fulfillment. -

Patrick, As respectfully as I can I would like to say that your manner in this forum is unacceptable. It would seem that you gain a immense personal satisfaction from depositing your "derogatory language and low character" in every thread you can. For everyone's benefit, including yours, I am asking you to desist and refrain from such behaviour. There are plenty of other forums around that accept and even applaud such vulgarity but this is not one of them. So, quite simply and directly, I suggest you either cultivate some decency or leave and never come back.

There is this: "The teaching of Tao originated in prehistoric times. For many generations people searched out methods by which to develop themselves. These methods are numerous and some have even been formalized as different schools which emphasize one or two things and make other aspects secondary to one's personal cultivation. Here I would like to give you some idea of the many effective methods which are practiced among achieved ones. ~ Nei Tan, Internal Medicine, which can support a person's spiritual future through refinement of the physical, mental and spiritual essence, ~ Tai Shi, Internal Breathing, which is higher than external breathing, although both are usually practiced together, ~ Tao Yin, Energy Channelling, for purposes of health and spiritual benefit, ~ Chun Shih, Visualization or concentration, ~ Fu Erh, External Nutrition, using natural herbs and other things, ~ Shing Jeau, Walking, for gathering and refining energy, ~ Fuh Chi, Internal Energy Maintenance, ~ Bei Gu, to stop eating food completely (especially helpful to those who are cultivating spiritually so that they can stop looking for and preparing food for themselves - eventually they combine their life with the environment), ~ Fu Chi, Intaking Natural Energy through breathing and swallowing, which should be practiced with Bei Gu, ~ Fang Jung, Sexual Cultivation, ~ Fu Jyeo, Secret Talismanic Characters, Words and also Invocations, ~ Jing Tan, Golden Elixir, ~ Shr Jeah, Method of Exuviation into a New Life." p3, Ni Hua Ching, "Workbook for Spiritual Development of All People", Seven Star Communication, CA, 2005

5 element theory, no place in imortality

Less time thinking and theorising and more time cultivating. -
I think you are falling into the trap of focusing on only the physical element of gold. The Taoist immortal medicine, Jing Tan, 金丹, is called the "Golden Elixir" which is the result of the internal alchemical process of purifying and integrating the base elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water into one unified energy. This immortal medicine can literally be percieved as a golden light that infuses one's being. Again my point that many of the external alchemical formulae in both the western and eastern traditions are instead internal instructions.

I agree with you as I have written in "Why is Taoism Different?" Just as the ancient Taoist encoded some of their Nei gung with alchemical descriptions so to, in my mind, did the Thoth/Hermes tradition encode their secrets.

From: How do I get the jing out in the head? Before and after any energy work engage in at least several minutes of quiet breathing. Start by really being aware of the air passing in and out of the nostrils. Then gently become aware of how your breath fills your body. Slowly and naturally (i.e. do without doing ... just let it happen) expand this awareness until you are 'full body breathing'. Don't force anything, don't imaging anything, don't visualise anything, don't try and send energy anywhere ... just follow the breath and be aware of your body. If you feel any tension or pain you can use these sensations as a focus ... just simply observe and breath into these areas, don't try to change anything ... allow and accept things as they are. Allow any changes to occur naturally, spontaneously, and without any effort on your behalf. Then after a few minutes of quietude just simply allow your awareness to be more focused in the lower abdomen. Again don't try to achieve anything, don't force anything ... just be aware, be receptive. Anytime thoughts arise simply return to the breathing process. Blessings

Try to send that perception inwards rather than outwards ... better to heal yourself.
