  1. Why and how is Te found within Taoism?

If Dao is the trunk then De is the branch. De is the Dao in action. Only when we are living as an integral being, when all our disparate parts of self are united as a harmonious whole, are we fulfilling our de, our true nature. Only when we are fulfilling our de are we truly embodying and expressing the universal Dao.
  2. Why and how is Te found within Taoism?

Te is our true nature. It is the Dao within. It is our personal Dao at one with the Universal Dao.
  3. Haiku Chain

  4. Haiku Chain

dances up to one and then dances back to two shuffle step to three (Haiku 2000 coming up ... GO TEAM !!!)
  5. High Level chi battle?

Lama Dondrup Dorje (aka Peter Yeung from Newcastle from UK) is a fraud. Period. When challenged to perform his 'magic' on someone not his student he jumped the guy in a backroom and beat him up.
  6. Yin and Yang - I get lost sometimes

Try not to get too caught up in "this is Yang and this is Yin" merry go round. The character for Yang means the sunny side of a hill or wall, and the character for Yin means the shady side. Also contemplate this: When the universal essence became distinct the light and clear energy rose up and became the Heavenly sphere and the dark and dense energy sank and became the Earthly sphere. From the mystic intercourse of Heaven and Earth the myriad things became distinct.
  7. Yoga vs Tai Chi

Hiya New Dawn Fades, This post was a step over the line of our Moderation Guidelines. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=160949 Normally we would have just sent you a PM but you have disabled your ability to receive messages or your inbox is too full. 9. Discourse on Taoist Internal Alchemy

This deserves a bump as well
  10. You see TM, right here we might have a case of you skewing the empirical evidence because "you really want to believe". And it's true also that I might be skewing the other way through my skepticism. And this is exactly the point I have been trying to lay down ... only through the proper testing (i.e. double-blind protocol) can we be acceptably sure what is actually going on here. If he really is firing off "cannonballs" with his clothes then brilliant! However, unless of course your puddytat ears are registering audio beyond the norm , then from where I sit it is very clear that the noises here are the sound of his feet striking the stage.
  11. See now this one here could be used as a reference for a blind test. Set a room up with this sort of saftey gear and, instead of his own students, file a bunch of randomly chosen test subjects in one at a time and monitor the results. V2Qvo_BUmNU
  12. Sorry TM, witch is right, those sounds are most definately coming from his feet hitting the stage. Nice form though, but nothing "magical" happening here. Here's another similar (without the cannonballs ) zxxebP0u31g

  14. Now that's the sort of research we need Even though this could only be considered an introductory study it is the sort upon which further study can be based. It would be interesting to compare, for example, the actual force output generated from Master Chen Xian's punch with the force output of say a conventional punch. It would also be interesting to do this same study across a broader section of Taiji masters. It still doesn't, however, give any substantial evidence for the 'magical' type of fajin. But it is a good start. I hear ya mouse. Do you have any clips that would satisfy a double-blind protocol of the Nei Jin that you are referring to?
  15. Ok ... here is a challenge. I am interested if anyone can post up some vids of fajin (of the seemingly magical kind) being performed in proper scientific conditions. As I said over here: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=159192 All the clips and vids so far in this thread cannot be used as scietific evidence because they are not double-blind. So lets see what we can dig up.
  16. Chi flow through the brain - precautions taken

I would totally advise against this sort of practice without at least a few years of standing and/or basic qigong. Without this sort of grounding you are asking for trouble. Also this practice should not be learned from a book. At the very least audio or video instruction, preferably though with a trained teacher. Sure this sort of energy work can "open things up," but you are potentially sacrificing long term wellbeing for short term phenomenon.
  17. Haven't you ever heard of THE COW TE CHING ( http://www.theabsolute.net/minefield/cowching.html )
  18. Haiku Chain

spring again warms me revitalizes my loins sniffing at the air.
  19. As always these discussions on "how to become more manly" get bogged down with too much intellectualization and theories. The Daoist "way" is simple and natural. Look to nature, what is the primary external sources of Yin and Yang? The sun and the moon. This is why sun and moon breathing is a foundation practice. PM me if you want specific instruction.
  20. Yoga vs Tai Chi

That birds fly is "right." Snakes live best when on the ground. Best to follow "Deh." ---------- Deh, or true nature, is the spontaneous expression of an integral being. If this is expressed as yoga then that is the best. If it is expressed as Taiji, then that is best.
  21. Creativity is neither Yin or Yang but is the phenomena that manifests from the union of Yin and Yang. In this intercourse Yang is the initiating energy and Yin is the receiving energy. Remove either Yin or Yang from the equation and you have no creation. Hence both male and female are creative but they will express that creativity according to their own predominant nature. In natural accordance (and this is generally speaking), men will be creative in the world outside the home whilst women will be creative inside the home. An "ideal society" based on natural principles recognizes family life as the foundation of a functional community. Thus the feminine creativity within the home is honored and valued at least equally (and sometimes prominently) to the value placed on the masculine creativity outside the home. The reason why misconceptions of male preeminence take place, like that of Agapes', is because we are still struggling to shed the brittle yoke of 3000 years of patriarchal culture that values the male creativity as supreme whilst denigrating the female creativity. The title of this thread ("women don't create anything except babies") and comments like, "Everything you see in sight was created by men, not women," are perfect examples of this patriarchal delusion and denigration of feminine creativity. The world is currently suffering, socially, economically, and environmentally, from the bull rush of masculine over-exertion. Women fought for and won their equal rights but unfortunately all they really won is their right to be more masculine rather than true femininity and female creativity being lifted up and honored as equal. The result is that, with both partners now out of the home competing in the masculine world, the feminine function of nurturing our children to become healthy citizens is being usurped by day-care-centers, government education, popular media and now the internet. No longer are parents the main role-models and educators of our children and our society is worse off for it. The challenge is of course that the culture of female creativity has a long history of being suppressed, denigrated and literally being burned at the stake. I applaud those women's groups who are actively exploring and re-empowering feminine creativity in the world and I challenge chaps like you Agape to truly open your heart and your mind to the world, and learn to honor "The Mother" present in every infinite aspect of your life.
