  1. Open Letter To Stigwerd

Just giving all interested parties the heads up that I will conducting my healing ceremony for Gossamer at 10:00am AEST Friday which is Thursday 12:00 midnight GMT and Thursday 7:00pm US (correct me if I am wrong here). The ceremony will be with the intent to send a spark of renewal into Gossamer's sphere of experience. I have made a talisman (which I know Gossamer will love because it is of Celtic design) which will stand as a focal point and an anchor for the intent generated. The talisman is designed to be a protective and gaurdian ward against any malcontent forces. Thanks in advance to all the good will and blessing provided. Warm Regards Stigweard.
  2. the balloon debate

hmmm ... I can swim pretty well ... I'd wait until the balloon was low enough to jump safely (calculating broken water surface from ocean waves and landing within a standard deviation of acceptability there is a percentage chance I could probably survive from 500ft) and then swim my way to the island ... everyone lives!!! If I had time I would use a towel or clothing to create an ad lib shute ... a little bit extra wind drag would increase my chances of remaining conscious and whole of body. If I die in the fall ... that's OK ... hell of a way to go! If I get injured I'd just keep in mind I've got this really cute nurse waiting on the island to help tend my wounds, then I would grab the lawyer to help me draw up a compensation suit against the balloon owner!!!
  3. How to be a Taoist

Roads have sign posts ... until we fine tune our inner GPS we must follow the sign posts.
  4. The other book by Lao Tsu

Thanks for the link ... always good to read other perspectives. There is no evidence to support that this was written by Laozi: "Internal evidence suggests that we have before us a compilation in which we can distinguish at least three authors of decidedly different characters." The only connection here is that the name "T'ai-Shang Kan-Ying P'ien" venerates Laozi as a rolemodel: "T'ai-Shang, literally, "the Grandly High" or "the Exalted One," is a current name of Lao Tze". Nevertheless an excellent text.

  13. Why teach taiji?

My personal advice would be to be patient and let the 'energy applications' manifest naturally in their own time. Give your primary focus to building a good foundation of physical health, vitality, and fangsong (looseness and relaxation), this will be the 'launching pad' for the 'other stuff'.

  16. why money?

For me personally the essential issue at hand is whether or not charging money maintains the integrity of that which is being taught. I am convinced that a teacher should be financially independant from their students. If a teacher's livelihood is dependant upon whether their students pay them money than what is being taught has a high risk of being compromised. The teacher may hold back from saying what is the best thing to say because they might be worried their students will leave and they will become destitute. This applies to emotional independance as well, if a teacher is emotionally attached to the prestige of 'being a teacher' then once again the integrity of the teaching may become compromised. So regardless of money being charged or not, what is most important in my mind is for the teacher to have achieved material, emotional, intellectual and spiritual independance for them to be an effective teacher. PS. I don't charge for my classes by virtue of the fact that I teach at Venerable Master Chin Kung's Pureland Learning College in Toowoomba, Australia. Free to the public classes was one of their stipulations. This morning though one of my students gifted me with a few sticks of incense hand-wrapped in tissue paper ... how nice!
