The world is an illusion....wtf does that mean ?
ζζε replied to Arkx6's topic in Buddhist Discussion
World experiences are based on the 6 senses, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. Since those are impermanent, meaning change, formed due to conditions that lead to its creation, they are subject to change. This means that all perception of so-called reality, be it a personal one or mass one, is illusory. That means it is based on one's mind and perspective. The so-called reality of "things" is neither a real "thing" nor a fake one only because of the mind. Therefore, to know "true" reality is to see without seeing: basically non-discrimination. The universe is unbiased. That one true state of reality is without the discriminating mind's action of pointing out what is what and what isn't. Peace and Blessings, Lin -

Greetings All, I would like to know if anyone is planning a trip to Shandong province, Tai Shan (Tai Mountain). Since I am now living back in the states, I won't be visiting my Shifu at the Wang Mu Chi Daoist nunnery in Ta'An city, at Hu Shan Gong Yuan (Tiger Mountain Park). Anywho, if anyone is, will be, going there to Tai Mountain, please let me know. I would like to send a letter to my Shifu. I can't send her a snail mail letter because I don't have a phone number for China Post to call, thus can't mail. So, let me know: [email protected] It would be very appreciated if someone can help me contact my teacher out there. Thank you so, so , so much! Peace and Blessings, Lin

Greetings Every One! I have been off the forum for quite a while now. Lecturing in China for a few years has come to an end, and now I am back in the states. Starting over in Pennsylvania, Milford. This January I have re-opened my cultivation school, and have classes in full force. Last year I have placed all my practices into two systems White Canopy Platform Cultivation, and Imperial Zong Huan. For a description of both, please visit Gui Zhen Society I hope every one is doing well. Peace and Blessings, Lin

Gui Zhen Society in Staten Island NY. Hi Every One! I'm Lin, been on the Dao Bums for ages now, and recently moved back to the U.S. from China. I re-established my cultivation school in Staten Island and am offering a number of cultivation methods I have been putting together over the last several years. One of them is called White Canopy Meditation, a.k.a. Jiu Wu Tan Gong (Nine Five Platform Cultivation). Its quite a lengthy description, so I wil leave a short one here and link you to my personal practice page for the full idea: White Canopy Description Also new to the martial arts world, as well as to the Qigong, meditation, etc world, my own expression of both spiritual cultivaton and martial art , Origin and Illusion (Zong Huan). What exactly is the mind and where is it located ?
ζζε replied to TaoMaster's topic in Daoist Discussion
Mind is just a concept, said just fr the sake of allowing the said "one" to investigate "itself". There is not a separate consciousness outside of what is called the mind. Though each vibration of a "mind" or person variates, the actual substance, or nature, of what is said ot be living beings is the same. Sometimes the thoughts cloud over various "areas" more so for some than others. It is simply just a concept, and in itself is empty. -
I am so glad they are beneficial for you. As a cultivator, it is imperative to be aware, and understand what is going on in the mind. If not, one would be cultivating in vain regardless of what power they think they have or will gain. There is no power more proper than that of realizing one's own wisdom; in that there is no greater ability "gained" than that of being free from all karmic debt.
