We have to look at this statement.... : Will Of Heaven. What Heaven are we talking about? There are many heavens out there... one's that hold good beings, and virtuaous one, and those which host the not so nice ones called demons, and such. So the will of which heaven is the question. Dao is the label of a manner inwhich mind is without duality. Once there is discriminating thought, there is yin and yang, form. One cannot say that because they understad Yin and Yang, they attain Dao. It is when one detaches, not merges, from Yin and Yang, thought and no thought, form and no form, that one gets closer. It is the myriad things which lead one further away, not the balance of it. Because for there tobe a blance, there must be a thought of there being an imbalance, and thus, there will be the thought to cause a balance. THe changes in the world are changes yes. And ofcourse one has their own views on how the world shoud be. Yet, when obvious changes occur that are only of one sided influence, ther seems to be a shadow of ignorance cast about the country being influenced. Not to say all western influence is bad, or good, but when one literally takes everyhtin gout of their house and thorw it away because a guest decides they don't like it too much.. there is obviously something in the mind of the house owner that is not clear. China is changing...fast. And the good manner of culture that westerners see from movies such as personal behaviour, virtue, moral, and self worth are actually replaced by gred, anger, ingorance, and more of it in many shapes and sizes. One can call it the will of heaven. But I say , if this is the will of heaven, the Being incharge should be removed. It is as such.. Earth is a mes, and so it is the same in Heaven. THe only paradise is of mind, and that is where the heavens are created. There isn't just one overall heaven and it isn't incharge, and the flowing of Dao isn't flowing at all. The myriad things are what flows, it is Dao which they derive from, and it is mind which is Dao. Yet it isn't and it is not isn't. "Attaining" isn't the end result, and even though this discussion was originally about KFC, the manner inwhich it was perceived has risen from the mudd and is now the profound. hahahahah A very good thread indeed! Peace,

HAHA .... This weekend I will take pictures and make them available for those interested. Though I don't know how to make a website hosting pictures, I may post them on yahoo photos and post up the link. Peace, Aiwei Here's how to say it (I Weigh) hahahaha

Sounds good. I will wait a week or so before taking orders and moving to the next steps. What I will need from those who are interested are their measurements: 1:Arm length, (desired length of arms..) I say add a few extra inches to cover almost all the fingers. 2: Arm width 3: neck width 4: Height in meters 5: Waist and Chest width 6: Shoe size. Shoes are a bit heavy and will add to shipping costs, but well worth it. Shoes , a good pair, cost about 4-6dollars. The bottom is soft rubber, for a natural feel, and material of the shoe is really good. The price in stores are 55rmb. I wear them all through the winter...ofcourse winters are bitter out here, so I double the socks..yet I wear the socks which come up to under the knee. More details to come in the near future if many more are interested. By next week I will begin preparing for order taking. Please note that I am not doing this for sole profit, only looking to assist anyone who is serious about cultivation, and wants to wear loose fitting clothing and robes. It is more natural for the body, no metal, and fabric is natural.... atleast a higher percentage of the fabric is... haha, but not harmful to the body at all. If there are any questions and concerns, please ask them. This will not be a one time situation...and as the economy changes out here, the prices will change in time for fabric and labor. But for now, I will keep you all updated on the prices once I get a few orders down. Be well,

I find that the chinese are not doing anything to preserve their culture. I have seen that ad, laughed at the ignorance of the makers of it and the people of this country for airing it. If they wanted to preserve their culture so much, they would begin with wearing their own style clothing, build their own style buildings, and realize that once a way of living is viewed as something to preserve, it is already almost gone. They have done just the opposite. For example, push for the enlgish language to be one of the most important classes in school, act, talk and do things western(and they have people who teach this to make a living), incorporate habits of westerners, in mannerisms of shopping, spending money, living style, eating, speech, the list goes on. While there are cultural preservation centers, it is just that...a center and nothing more. THough they boast their "great" culture during holidays, it is in the background when there isn't a holiday. When there is a foreigner with several chinese people siting for dinner, the chinese boast on how they have a food culture, wine culture and even a smoking culture (like that is somehtin got be proud of..if there was something to be proud of in the first place.) The environment has changed from Chinese style and mannerism, to wester style and mannerism. People spend loads of money going to KFC thinking it is a luxury, while they suffer from health problems and their children are getting fatter. The ad for KFC had to pass government approval before being aired. So, it also says that they wish to water down the "purity" of the images of Daoism, or any cultivation practice in order to steer people out of the path of self cultivation. Just to shed some light on this; Daoism is the #1 repressed "religion" , and the most repressed, in China. I teach in a school where, more than 5 occasions, have my students declared their undying hatred for the japanese, and how they wish to kill each and everyone of them...in detail. So.. you can see where this country is going. Students are being taught that tradition is past, and modern , new , western things are now, and must be adhered to fully... as well as being taught to hate! Like I said, if they wanted cultural preservation, it would be nation wide, and it isn't happening. Out of 100 Chinese people, maybe one would be wearing traditional chinese style clothing. Out of 20 people, about 5-7 people will not recognize their own cultural clothing. Out of 1,000 people, atleast 85-95% will believe that anyone seen wearing chinese clothing must be a Buddhist or a Daoist monk...especially if a foreigner wears it, the foreigner must be in love with the culture, or be a monk or something. Noone seems to thikn that he/she is just wearing it to cover their body. How sad that the majority will not think that a person will just wish to wear traditional clothing for no other reason than covering their body. I have stories. I still live out here. Though their mannerisms are distinct from those of the west, it is changing. The good of the culture is being diluted, and the bad of the culture is being emphasized. Peace,

That's exactly what I had in mind while writing this post!.. hahahaha

There is none. It is perception of what one has in mind which makes it to be anyhting one wishes. As with life. We make it to be something according to mind, and thus experience such and determine it is a point. A good question asked to me by my wife. She asked me ,"What is the reason for living? " Simply put, "Nothing. People assume there is some mysterious nature, or some great goal to accomplish, but there isn't. The mere thought of there being one is the cause for much suffering (another experience of mind)" There is mystery, because what is seen as mysterious is not readily seen by everyone. Peace,

It is of mind. A state of mind where one perceves many selves. The fact of perceiving self points that there is perceiving, and in that, there is a mind that states what is, and isn't. There is mind. There is no life, nor death. Because of the manner of attachment, we find a way to describe, and yes, label, that which we call our experiences. Each thoguht opens a door for other thoughts and feelings to follow, assisting in creating the world as we say we know it. The thoughts and feelings are of eachother, and they are of mind. Being born in another body is mind experiencing mind experiencing mind, and so on in that. If there is attachment of mind and experience, there is the perception of duality. There is the mind creating the manner inwhich one forms a "new" idea(body), and thus experiences what it considers life to be as. Cultivation(alchemy as some like to call it) is the means to lessen the emotional expressions, and thus lessening its effect on the body. THis would be called balancing Body , Mind and Spirit. It is the bringing the many back to one. In time, one experiences the feeling of wholeness, and revitalized, and mind is without the attachments. Reality has changed ,and further cultivation would be to transform mind...resulting in a transformed body. Peace,

Greetings All, I hope you are all doing well in your cultivation. I joined this forum from an invitation from the admin. I appreciate that, because I have read through several posts already and find that there are some well cultivators out here. So, thank you. I live in China for almost 3yrs now. Oriinally was born in NY, U.S. From a very young age began meditation and various cultivation methods of both Daoist and Buddhist schools, and various other mannerisms of cultivation. In China, my wife and I teach through a school we have made called Jing Xin Yuan. More info is available on my website and forum posted below. I wish you all well.

I wear chinese clothing.. long robes, and such. They cannot be bought in China easily because almost noone wears them. The DAoists have a particular manner of robes and such, and most of their clothing is hand made. I bought my clothes in NY city several yrs ago, and had a handful made while I am living in China. Iwas planning on opening an online store for handmade chinese clothing. And since I know the price range , things would be amazingly cheap. haha Maybe I should start on that project on some point next year. Peace,

The changes I speak of are structural changes, but not to the foundational form, or the original. THe form itself is the guideline of practice, as you know. Then as one gets deeper, movement is according to the original manner of the form, but it is not necessary that it looks like the form. It is as one learns form, attains levels through the form, and in that, begins to move with what is attained...I like to say "revealed" through its cultivation. This brings a light to Forget the form...but not the foundation. One can move in any manner, if the foundation is properly anchored, the movements will be fluid..yet that is still not the highet level...fluidity. Practice form to build foundation, and cultivate form to anchor "attainment" from its cultivation. Then, it brings one to another level of form practice, which begins to take form in any shape, large or small. Since the foundation was proper, with time spent in its cultivation, any movement afterwards will still be Taiji Quan, just not looking like it.. but looking like it.. haha form I mean. The form, even though a set pattern, was made of spontaneity. It became a foundation for it(the form). If one can move through form for foundational cultivation, then with proper guidance, one can go further and deeper into Taiji Quan. As you know, it is not just a form for Health and Martial Arts. But that gets revealed as time spent in cultivation becomes longer and there becomes less in mind. A quote from Grandmaster Zheng Man Qing, " Invest in Loss". These words are golden. Has more meaning than just effortlessness. He was pointing at something... Peace,
-
That's very good. Yes it is in the realm of what I am talking about. It yet a different name. When cultivated masters cultivate TaijiQuan, it doesn't look like it. Sometimes the forms would be totrally different, which leads to a higher manner of cultivation...state so to say. Good observation. Peace,

It will take some time. There is alot of stuff to put together and edit, and place up there. And then, the members.. haha I'm in no rush for excess, so in the future, there will be enough. Thanks

Hi Sean, Since Shengong is vast, in that to descrive in a few sentences would cause one to not see it, I decided to take an email I wrote to you on it, and take a few lines. ...Movements in Shengong, are abit different in that they do not carry an associated condition, they assist in removing the illnesses in the body, and are keys with a vibrational encoding to them which taps into ...a different realm altogether. Each time it is different given the mind of the practitioner, but also each time cultivated points the mind to a focus of cultivation...like a goal. But it is not a concluded goal. Set forms, though depending on what form it is, pave a path for the mind, and sometimes do not get to that more(what is considered subtle) form of mind which free, meditative movement achieves. Now even though there are different levels to this free/meditative movement, it doesn't always lock into a higher mind of cultivation...only touches here and there. Yes, intention is needed, and a concentrated mind is needed. That is why in beginning Shengong practice, basically the higher forms that derive from a no-though to riding on the just between thoguht and no-thought, one needs guidance. Taiji Quan, believe it or not, is Shengong. Not the many shorter forms, but strictly the 108. Now I am going out on a limb here, for noone would say that except my cultivation brother and I. Pangu Shengong, which I have learned several yrs ago, is very nice. It does touch on higher energies, and if properly guided can bring proper health, and a myriad of "abilities"..basically revealing mind. But it is still not the highest, but a means to the highest. If I sat here typing to describe this, I would not be done for lifetimes. Shengong does not derive power from Gods, and Demi Gods, and spirits. It is a mind of cultivation where one learns from those of higher cultivation, be it through sitting meditation, or standing, movement, and "attains" higher levels of mind. Remember, it is detachment which is they key..and it is understanding mind and its conditions which helps to detach. Proper understand=proper wisdom. There is just too much to say on this. One just has to do it. There are many different forms(manners of practice) of Shengong, but there are only certain manners which direct the mind ...higher so to say. I hope this sheds some light on a subject which has is not openly talked about. It is not for everyone, because there is a manner of Virtue and proper moral that the practitioner should carry/cultivate. If not, they will not meet someone who can guide them through it. Now that you all are getting htis information, it says something. Peace,
-
hahaha I remember that! How funny those with fate are in the same places, yet cannot meet formally until conditions arise for it to be proper. Peace,

Hi Sean, Enlightenment happens by a means of loss. Yet even with enlightenment, one still needs proper understanding. That is where further cultivation comes in to assist in loss of excess discrimination within the mind. "Produce the thought that is no where supported." A partial quote from the Sixth Patriarch's Platform Sutra. The methods cultivated are the expedient means to loss, which results in the "revealing" of one's true nature...which is not something one actually gains or gets to. Peace,

Yes, and that would be a sign of kidney qi dispersion...(imbalance of qi in the kidneys.) All emotional imbalance can be traced to organ qi imbalance. Yet, fixing it would mean not only tending to the qi of the organs, but changing the mind state so one will not have an experience of excessive emotional state. Peace,

Yoga in general ...Qigong(which includes Neigong) would balance the body. To "accumulate" Yin Qi, one must utilize Yang Qi to gather Yin. Yin follows Yang, Yang is pulled down by Yin. If Yang is in abundance, and properly focused in "accumualting" Yin, Yin will "fill" the body. Overall, proper mind in practice will result in a balance of both. Peace,

Any inhaliation of conentrated smoke will cause excess yang in the body, which inturn will make yin deficient. If it is done over long period of time, the energy begins to leak out of the body due to organ dysfunction. Though one may not feel the organs problem, depending on their cultivation level, the organ will be dysfunctional. At the level where your palms are clammy, and such as you describe, it shows that there is an effect which has been due to a long period of time in excess yang cultivation, basically daily habits. If it has not been for a long period of tme, and these problems have manifested, one can say it would be due to the prenatal qi not being strong enough.. .its quality not being strong enough to sustain constant bombardment. Ofcourse a face to face diagnosis is best, but maybe this idea may lead you to a beneficail path with good outcomes. Peace,

Yes. Each posture is a key that, when aligned properly, accesses different levels of energy. It is geometry at its best. Each posture, when held for long periods of time, offer greater advances in cultivation. When proper focus is applied various benefits are"attained". peace,

THe cold damp hands, in Chinese Medicine, would be a sickness related with too much yang qi in the body , in an unhealthy manner, which would be disprsing the Yin qi of the heart and kidneys. (Though an individual diagnosis is definetly more appropriate. My above diagnosis is general) If youdrink coffee, smoke cigarettes, eat fried and or spicy foods, stop and begin drinking homemade fruit jiuces of pears, and apples. Also, when in your qigong practice, focus on the mingmen at the lower back where the kidneys are, and bring your breath there and direct it to the dantian. THere is more, but this should do well for now. Also, avoid deeply baked goods like pizza, potatoe chips(fried and baked) and drink water ,.. especially since you practice Qigong.. you should drink twice as much water as someone who doesn't practice qigong. Peace and Happiness.

The sporadic movements that manifest from non-directed intention is one level of a manner of cultivation we call Shengong. Shengong is a manner of cultivation of the mind where on the lowest level, one relaxes all discrimination of the mind, and allows energy to move uninhibited, thus the body moving without the stopping and continuation of itself. There are many levels of this cultivation, and a great percent of Qigong forms were founded throuhg this manner. Though Shengong, the name, was never publicized as Shengong, Qigong derives from this manner of cultivation. Higher levels, though too vast to just speak of in a few sentecnes, consist of purification of the mind, an expedient, in order to attain/reveal abilities of the mind that are not of an uncultivated one. Meaning, a mind of one who cultivates is greatly differnt from one which is not cultivated. Here, cultivation means the lessening of what is of mundane experiences of mind. As a result, oone attains abilities, which are not really attained but revealed, and thus enhances the experiences they call reality. The manners inwhich Qigong has forms to cultivate derive from this, and within Shengong cultivation(basically intuitive cultivation) the revealing of mind through different states cause the body(on the physical level) to benefit greatly. If one is not taught through guidance, one's mind may begin to attach to the experiences and thus create a reality of ego, anger, ignorance. It is not something widely known, and not regularly talked about due to the conditions placed upon the idea of a higher power than that readily seen. People call it God, while Daoists call it the Way. Peace, Hi Sean, Just by reading your titles to yoru articles, it reveals exactly what I mean by Shengong. Read my previous post for a brief explanation. It is a very high level cultivation method, which is the foundation of all cultivation methods. One can only benefit from it, if their mind is in a "proper" place so to say. Otherwise, one may begin to cultivate to do not so good things to others. Either way, there willl be various "abilities" and changes in one's life due to this nature of cultivation. Good work! Peace,
