Well I didn't want to spoil your fun (serious inquiry) , but, I did some experimentation on an exercise bike with a built-in heart monitor a few years ago. (No pedaling, just sitting with hands on the handles where the heart beat monitor contacts are) What I discovered is this: I could drop my heart rate by 10 bpm by holding my breath and totally relaxing the entire body. It worked best to maintain the lower rate and keep it there if I rapidly exhaled and rapidly inhaled through the mouth and just stretched out the retention periods. Another note, when you retain your breath, make sure to disperse the attention to relaxing the whole body (not a pinpointed area) and don't focus just on the heart. When you retain the breath, it is like gathering chi/prana and then through attention you are directing it. It can be like a magnifying glass with the sun's rays so you have to be careful, lest you set the ant on fire.. . (You probably know this, but I thought I'd mention it for others..)

So the admins have the ability to monitor this activity. But what about non OP users? Do you mean I will have to monitor all my posts in topics that I did not start to make sure that my posts did not get hidden? Is there some method of notifying the poster that their poster was hidden? If I subscribe to the thread, will I be emailed when my post is hidden? Do I now have to subscribe to all my posts? What is to prevent the OP to wait a month or so and then hide posts that they did not like? Have you sentenced me and every else in this forum to watching over their posts forever and ever in topics that they did not start, in forums or sub forums that have owners permissions turned on? -

The better alternative is for the person whom built the fence to beta test the fence him/herself before turning it over to the pubilc. By building a faulty fence, should a storm arise with strong winds, or were the owner or the neighbour(s) to own several viscious pit bulls, that faulty fence could become a hazard to everyone. The owner has a responsibility to others not to build hazardous traps which might compromise the safety of others. -

Your malicious speach here is not appreciated. You are trying to paint me like some unethical maurader that is contravening some kind of IT Professional ethic, when in fact there is no "IT Professional Ethic" that IT professionals adhere to other than confidentiality agreements and codes of ethics that the organization that you work for makes you sign. I am not employed by TDB therefore I am not bound by any such agreement within an IT capacity. Further, I did not use any IT skills during my investigation other than clicking on buttons, something that anyone with owners permissions can do without any technical knowledge. If you think that what I did is horribly bad, then perhaps you should take a look at what real hackers could do. Like the ones from Amsterdam with the lastest decryption routines and hacks. Why would I not be concerned for the welfare of the site on which I post and have been a member of for years? As soon as I noticed that there was a thread about missing posts I responded. You may not like my tone, but then it's Apech's thread and he likes humour. And, I found it funny and quite unbelievable. So, if your agenda is to 'do me damage' by trying to prove some malicious intent, good luck with that. And, by calling me names and trying to prove ill intent in other posts not addressed to me, you are still in fact interacting with me. However, now you're doing it behind my back. -

Contract for tests on forum security? Penetration testing? Targeted? I randomly chose a thread in the Buddhist forum with no ill intent or targeting in mind. I did what any member of this forum could without any special knowledge or ability. I don't have to contract or get paid for my services. But you should pay me for putting up with your bullshit. Are you sure you don't have a hidden agenda here? You are being overly malicious here, so it would seem that you have some kind of axe to grind. Are you living unbound? -
The Holy Spirit is not Kundalini - Daskalos
Tibetan_Ice replied to Tibetan_Ice's topic in General Discussion
I think kundalini, although a natural process, happens when provoked or not provoked. I've read too many stories about nonpractitioners experiencing kundalini whom didn't have a clue what was actually happening to them. And then there are stories about instant combustion... To the Buddhists, kundalini is just an other energetic event and it is not mentioned much at all. There may be indirect references to it in tummo practice, as in the six yogas of Naropa, Tsonkapa and some shamanistic practices, but it is not the highest Dzogchen teaching, as kundalini is more in tune with tantra than Dzogchen.. Although, there is allot of heat in the natural state too. That's another topic.. According to Daskalos, we have three etheric doubles, one for the physical body, one for the psychical (astral) body and one for the noetic body. Upon dying, the physical etheric double disintegrates, leaving the physical body dead, without etheric vitality. It is like dropping an old suit or piece of clothing. The psychical and noetic etheric bodies continue on as well as their manifested counterparts. So, after dying, you end up in the astral planes and if you've developed your visualization abilities, you can then create the existence that you'd like. But, gradually, the psychical etheric body dissolves and then you have only the noetic and its etheric double left. However, since the astral is much more stable than the physical, it could take many earth years for that to occur. So, I don't think it is that the kundalini rises in an explosive occurrence and then the Holy Spirit comes along and regenerates your physical etheric double. I suppose it could, if it wanted to, and this is also a concept that Daskalos talks about....how you can fill a dead body with etheric vitality and "bring it back to life". But you have to be very accomplished in order to be able to request that the Holy Spirit do that. Daskalos says that it is the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit alone that decides to heal or use the creative ether to create. He also says that the Holy Spirit is in us all from the beginning as the creative life force. -

Yup. There is no test system and since when do you believe the vendor's claims or the programmers' first iteration? Besides, I had to know what others can do and the only way to find out is to try and see. Nothing I did was irreversible and if the DBA's have auditing turned on in SQL, they should have a record. I am well aware. I would also debate your idea that it is other people's data. Once a post is posted on a forum, isn't the content of the post now owned by the public domain? If it were not public domain, then surely the site owner has no right to alter any data nor delete any data as it would be an infringement of writers' copyright. I don't recall seeing a comprehensive copyright waiver when I joined TTB many years ago. -

I see! That last sentence means that you can but you should not The wording here is ambiguous. It should say "should not" instead of "cannot". This implies that a poster is capable of doing so, but should not do so. Saying "cannot" implies that it is not possible to do so. And that last sentence would be allot clearer if it said "Currently, there is no software means to restrict owner permissions to just threads where you are the Thread Owner, therefore owner permissions enable anyone with owner permissions in a forum or sub forum to edit titles, Hide the entire thread or Hide a single post in a thread which they did not start." Being a systems analyst for over thirty years, my instincts were to test the software to see what worked and what didn't. I thought that I shouldn't be able to hide topics in threads that I did not own. The software should have prevented that. But now I understand the ramifications of the last sentence in the quote in the terms of agreement. I would also like to apologize for hiding a post in a thread that was not mine and changing a title just to see if I could do it. There was no malicious intent as I was just testing the software. The implications are staggering, however. Do you mean that anyone with owners permissions can go into any thread that they don't own and hide posts? That is shocking! Who is going to monitor their threads to see if someone went into an old thread and hid posts? Are any moderators reviewing hidden posts to make sure that the user whom hid the post actually owned the thread? Doesn't that incur even more work for the mods? Further, after I hid a post, I could not find a method to "unhide" the post. And, because I could no longer see the hidden post, I could not get a URL or index number to the hidden post so that I could request that a mod unhide it. Very sloppy software programming! Now that I know that anyone with owners permissions can go into any thread and hide posts or threads and change titles, I find this quite objectionable. You know, I work for a very large organization and if the software that I support lets people do things that they shouldn't, they still do it anyway, and incurs allot more man hours to rectify situations than if the software simply prevents the user from doing things they shouldn't in the first place. So again, I apologize if my testing disturbed anyone, Apech included. Now excuse while I go wipe out all of Alwayson's posts from my threads in the Buddhist forum (kidding)... -

It is funny to see the trolls squawk when they get their posts removed isn't it? I haven't had so much fun in a long time. It is even funnier to learn that I can hide other posts in threads that are not mine. I can even edit the titles!!!! See, I changed http://thedaobums.com/topic/39785-take-me-to-the-cosmic-pussycat-inside-tibets-secret-tantric-temple/ I would suggest that before you guys implement new policies, that you actually confirm that the software works the way it is supposed to through empirical testing. Right now, anyone with owner's permissions can go edit any body else's Topic title and hide posts in threads that they did not start. Or perhaps it is only in threads that the poster with Owner's permissions posts in? I will leave your debugging to your computer experts. -
The Holy Spirit is not Kundalini - Daskalos
Tibetan_Ice replied to Tibetan_Ice's topic in General Discussion
You know, it is funny. Right about now I'm viewing kundalini as the death mechanism that humans have built into them which completes the death experience by burning up the etheric double. According to Daskalos, burning up the entire physical etheric double causes death of the physical body. In one book, the Magus of Strovolos he recounts how, when projecting himself to help guide a rogue space station into the Southern Hemisphere, he talked about how he had to detach his etheric double from the physical body because the heat and light that he needed to tap into was so great that it would have fried his physical body. So, a break in the etheric is a break from the physical. One time during my kundalini meditation phase, within two minutes of sitting down, I felt like I burst into flames. I could feel intense heat and vapors coming from my body. I was sweating profusely from the head. I had to stop. I was going to spontaneously combust! What if kundalini is the body's natural process to facilitate the complete separation of the higher bodies from the physical by burning up the physical's etheric double? And, it also follows that putting holes in your etheric double lets in the psychical or astral world. That is what alcohol does. So maybe it is no wonder that if kundalini rises and burns some parts of the etheric double but not all, it accounts for the many cases of schizophrenia that you hear about related to kundalini. Pieces of the astral worlds bleeding into consciousness, no longer being blocked... And on a higher level, enlightenment might be like dying, revealing what is beyond... Maybe a full blown kundalini attack burns everything, karma included, so you see what is beyond before your actual time to die. .? So you get to come back to your body but without the attachment... And maybe that is why kundalini is so dangerous... But no, I don't think The Holy Spirit is meant to balance kundalini. If anything, according to Daskalos, since the Holy Spirit controls the creative ether/vitality, it could heal you from a severe kundalini attack by reconstructing the physical etheric double. -

Gee, Daskalos can speak several languages, heal cancer, materialize and dematerialize objects including human spines, communicate with beings in the upper realms, know his past lives (and can learn about yours), can transport himself over great distances and duplicate himself a hundred fold. Maybe it is not Daskalos whom is mistaken? -
The Holy Spirit is not Kundalini - Daskalos
Tibetan_Ice replied to Tibetan_Ice's topic in General Discussion
You quoted this: You are saying that the Spirit referred to here is the Holy Spirit. According to Daskalos, the Holy Spirit is already inseparable from human beings. I guess you didn't read that in the OP. Here it is again. So, according to Daskalos, if you are alive, then you already have the Holy Spirit working for you. There would be no reason to receive the Holy Spirit as your quote implies. Therefore, the bible quote is incorrect or you have misinterpreted what is being said there as the Holy Spirit. It is too bad that the bible is such a hodgepodge of indecipherable stories. This "helper" might well be the Guardian Angel, as Daskalos mentions: From Swimming With the Whale: But then again, Daskalos says that everyone has a guardian angel. (My Bolding in the quote) Therefore, why would someone have to receive something that they already have? They already have the Holy Spirit, and they already have a Guardian Angel, so why would Jesus have to pray to the Father to give another Helper to believers and maintainers of the commandments? This helper is obviously not the Holy Spirit and not the Guardian Angel, is it? Looks to me to be like some form of spiritual blackmail that some wrote in the bible to make humankind have to obtain something through the church, something which they already have. And, now, in your last post post, you admit that there is no mention of kundalini in the bible, as you said: Therefore, are you admitting that you fabricated the claim that the Holy Spirit is kundalini? Daskalos is saying that kundalini is found at the base of the spine, not the belly. It is a primordial fire that burns the etheric double. It causes death of the physical body. So, the Holy Spirit supports life, and the kundalini causes death. How far apart do they have to be before you quit trying to prove that the Holy Spirit and kundalini are the same by referring to "energy"? -
