My acupuncturists say just to avoid heavy exercise, but only when I asked them... I shouldn't have asked! LOL.

I did the Goenke retreat, and I agree with you--it seemed cult-like and I did not like it. Shambhala has some good retreats--they aren't free, but you aren't forced to remain silent or bow to the TV.

WEC champ Jamie Varner charity seminar and Roy Dean's Art of the Wristlock DVD

I thought some of y'all might be interested in my latest article, Combat Sports and the Kitchen Sink, in which I review WEC champion Jamie Varner's charity seminar that I attended in Tempe. I also reviewed Roy Dean's new DVD, Art of the Wristlock, which has a bunch of aikido and Japanese jiu jitsu combined with BJJ. It is pretty cool. Check it out: http://www. dirttime. org/2008/11/30/combat-sports-and-the-kitchen-sink/ -
Thanks for the book!!!! Here's verse 29: 29. The only enquiry leading to Self-realization is seeking the Source of the 'I' with in-turned mind and without uttering the word 'I'. Meditation on 'I am not this; I am That' may be an aid to the enquiry but it cannot be the enquiry. So you're supposed to seek I without using the word I? Uh....okay....

Also that article was written 25 years ago. There have been many medical advances since then.

I would like to see the study. I liked the movie. Guy's an arrogant son of a bitch but yeah it was funny and insightful at times.

Very interesting!! Reminds me of the Son of Man movie.

This I understand and agree with.... I think it is a lot like the Alan Watts quote I have to find...lol But I guess I still get stuck on the dualism/nondualism thing... Because I think it is folly to assume one can be separate or fortified or not a part of...well, everything... but to think one IS everything and there is no separateness seems just downright silly. I mean, who is it that would be doing the thinking? I love the idea of diving into oneself. Controlling speech and breath seems to be a reference to meditation (am I wrong?) and perhaps he is alluding to "I" originating in thought. This stuff is fascinating; I think this is my favorite verse yet...and certainly the only one I've been able to understand for the past ten verses or so.

I got lost on 24 and 25, but let's move on... Sometimes I try to read through something all the way through before going back to the parts I have trouble with... So on that note... 26. If the ego is, everything else also is. If the ego is not, nothing else is. Indeed, the ego is all. Therefore the enquiry as to what this ego is, is the only way of giving up everything.

Someone mentioned tulsi tea a while back. I really like tulsi. Very soothing, but not annoyingly so like chamomile. It's tough and soothing at the same time. Like Zen.

I usually lean right, but Sarah Palin is downright scary. And I really love Obama.

Thanks, Trunk! Maybe I'll make a living off of it one of these days. Matt was cool about answering millions of follow-up questions. Made my job easy. -

22. The Divine gives light to the mind and shines within it. Except by turning the mind inward and fixing it in the Divine, there is no other way to know Him through the mind.

21. What is the Truth of the scriptures which declare that if one sees the Self one sees God? How can one see one's Self? If, since one is a single being, one cannot see one's Self, how can one see God? Only by becoming a prey to Him

like someone's talking, except that they weren't?

Oh, I'm not worried about demonic possession!! I'm past that phase in my life. Actually I have experienced synasthesia before in a controlled environment. I got to smell a bell ringing and stuff; it was trippy.

oh, that experience wasn't recent! it was 10 years ago. but i'm getting heilkunst treatment and going through my timeline and it's the area where we're at right now--you get treated for traumas going backwards in time starting at the present. actually we skipped a trauma, i had forgotten about the part where i saw my friends get beat up which happened before i got arrested. lol.
