  3. [TTC Study] Chapter 79 of the Tao Teh Ching

End any sort of conflict/debate with love and calmness. Throughout a dispute, yes, you may feel so strongly about something, that you must be right, be aware always of the opinions of others. During a quarrel, you will notice moments of quiet peace, this is the way any quarrel should end. Nature cannot create a storm that lasts for ever, so too should we be able to be flexible and change when we feel its right.
  4. The Cool Picture Thread

Here's a good link to a site that is dedicated to optical illusions, a lot of them are really stunning: Linky

I haven't been here long enough to say, but it seems to me that you think his posts are an issue. Perhaps if you speak with Immortal4life you could decide on something.

  11. What are you listening to?

That's quite true, but they do have a few mellow songs, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuqVogBiYSU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvQqPpVuFf8 But even in some of their heaviest songs, the lyrics are often about love, peace or fantasy. Come to think of it, there isn't a Black Sabbath song that is lyrically "violent" Their song "War Pigs" is an anti-war song with regards to politicians.
  12. Hello!

    Thanks lienshan!
  13. 11:11:11

Whenever someone mentions 11.11.11 I think of Skyrim. This is a nice idea. Unfortunately I won't be able to participate with candles because I'll be at college, but I will offer my thoughts to the global pool.
  14. [TTC Study] Chapter 78 of the Tao Teh Ching

I feel as if we are encouraged here to be gentle and patient like water. "Water is so soft it cannot be damaged" - Wayne Dyer. you can boil water, and get vapors, drink it and it returns after nourishing your body. Pollute it and it will return after enough time. It can do all of this because it is soft and flexible. Emulate water, don't be forceful, be calm and allowing.
  15. FR~EE Ebook ... "Neiye, Inner Cultivation"

  16. What are you listening to?

Black Sabbath is a great band (IMO), I have all of their albums (with Ozzy) and this is a song that shows their peaceful side. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk427D5XkIU
  17. [TTC Study] Chapter 76 of the Tao Teh Ching

I like to read one verse every 1 - 4 days, that is the time when I study and practice it's message, and today I'm up to the 76th verse. The message I get from this verse is that: Death = Hard and brittle. Life = Soft and Supple. we must learn the values of being humble, flexible and soft like palm trees tropical storm that bend but not break.
  18. Entry-level Taoism?

Hello Muqtada If you haven't already, perhaps exploring different translations of the Tao Te Ching, there are so many to choose from. A translation I really enjoy is Jonathan Star's Tao Te Ching: Definitive Edition. For meditation, find something that suits you. watch videos, experiment with what you like. Deng Ming Dao's 365 Tao: Daily Meditations is a good book to read daily, one page at a time. I myself am up to 248, i bought it in February it is recommended to start at the beginning of a new year. Wayne Dyer has a book called "Change Your Thoughts Change your life - Living The Wisdom Of The Tao" you can get it on book or audio CD. It basically is his interpretation of each verse of the Tao Te Ching, and how you can apply it's message today. I would really recommend it! Like Marblehead says, there is plenty to read on this forum alone!
