  1. Climate Change

Over here Trump is not liked at all and I can't really think of anything good to say about him! All I know is someone like him should not be the president nor should he have the final call on launching nukes. China has been the dumping ground for a lot of the worlds waste, including nuclear. Poor countries just say to the west yes we'll have your dangerous waste and blow the consequences. So every time some spent nuclear rods come out of a power station in America or Europe many of them end up in third world countries. Every time you put on your light, some Pakistani families are suffering from your commodities and ease. We don't like Trump, any one with half a brain would not vote for such a man.
  2. Climate Change

One of the problems with North America, is that most of the scientist follow the Trump ideal. They deny that climate change is going off the scale, more than what it should be, because it suits the polluting industries. It is a political argument. Top 5 most polluting countries China (30%) The world's most populated country has an enormous export market, which has seen its industry grow to become a serious danger to the planet. ... United States (15%) The world's biggest industrial and commercial power. ... India (7%) ... Russia (5%) ... Japan (4%) Top 10 most polluted countries in the world Pakistan. pakistan today is in 1st place in the world of pollution. ... 2 QATAR. Qatar today is in 2nd place in the world of pollution. ... 3 Afghanistan. Afghanistan today is in 3rd place in the world of pollution. ... 4 Bangladesh. ... 5 Egypt. ... 6 United Arab Emirates. ... 7 Mongolia. ... 8 India.
  3. Climate Change

Ah at least someone has answered my post! This is what I think ; when we are Dao we live and breathe it, for this is the only true way to be as a Dao follower. So we think about the other life that we depend upon and the Dao has given life too equally. 4% of wild animals left in the world is a disgusting small amount. 60% of cattle, sheep, pigs etc is a huge amount. 90% of wild flower meadows have been lost, incredibly important insects, the pollinators, are disappearing at an alarming rate. Few insects, few birds and the knock on effect of human interference and not living simply is taking its toll big time. This is not sustainable and goes against the Dao. "Whatever goes against the Dao will never last". So what small steps can we take? Buying power is a very important tool to influence the world and what is happening; a very simple and effective way to influence what is being produced that does not pollute or destroy. Give up eating meat for several days a week if you are a meat eater. Use less dairy products, the Chinese believe that cows milk is for cows and not for humans. Grow your own food and include plants that are good for bees and insects. Use public transport where you can. Use a bike, they make really good electric bikes these days. Go off-grid for your energy needs. A solar off grid system, with lead acid traction batteries (100% recyclable and can last up to 30 years) can power most homes or part of a home without resorting to using nuclear, oil, gas or coal powered electricity. The list can go on, but as Dao followers we should be thinking about cause and effect, about the whole interaction of life and how we are dependent on the balance of life.
  4. Climate Change

Yes, but what changes have you made in your own lives to help the environment and to help other life?
  5. Climate Change

Yes this all fine, but no one in six pages has answered my post!!!
  6. Climate Change

Immortals are Spirit masters and I am a traditional Dao shaman
  7. Climate Change

Existentialism is a philosophy it means slightly differing things to different people. Illusion and reality are of course the questions that those with tendencies to mental illness ask themselves and so further cause fear and panic about their own existence. The life I live has no place for illusion, but a life dealing head on with reality. The present day reality is that as humans we are doing a great deal of harm to our planet and the other living things that we share this world with. This is not illusion it is fact. Illusion comes from people who deny this and just say its a process and couldn't care less, until the reality hits them. Then of course all their philosophizing about the illusion and reality teaches them a lesson about life; its not all in the head! Now my post was not about whether Climate change exists, it was about seeing what people in their own lives were taking practical measure, being Dao, to help our environment. Being a practical man and a Dao practitioner taught by Immortals for more than 35 years, I have taken practical measures and personal responsibility to help this situation. I'm asking what have you done and what practical things, that's things that are not in the head, can be done to help the situation. OK
  8. Climate Change

Christian, go pay Peter Popoff $200 to help save your soul for you have sinned.
  9. Climate Change

Jesus, the enemy of the Dao has infiltrated wrapped up in disguise. Time to leave TDB's and go and infiltrate some Christians forums to turn them away from the single God and to follow the Dao. I'm sure their not interested in Climate Change as God will save them all especially if they pay $200 to Peter popoff!
  10. Climate Change

Well during some wars people have starved to death, become cannibals etc because there is no food. Because of climate change grain reserves have been dropping while the population has been rising. Given enough change.......
  11. Climate Change

Trouble is of course that one can use evidence to debunk and to credit any scientific prediction. I think now people are seeing such significant changes in the natural world that is far beyond the normal changes that happen, that there really is no way to debunk climate change being made by human activity.
  12. Modern Taijiquan Sucks!

Tai Ji Is a Dao fighting art. In the modern world it is not taught as a fighting art. Its core practices were like any other martial art; developing the strength of the body and the core, developing hands, forearms and feet that could deliver potent and lethal blows without too much damage being done to the hands etc. (iron fist). Speed and agility along with technique and eventually internal power were the basis of the art and the form was practiced fast and with emphasis on certain techniques. There is too much bullshit talked about so called internal arts. All arts are both internal and external, they have to be to be balanced as fighting arts and as health benefits.
  13. An Awakening through Living in the Wilderness

Yes a great description and really how people should live, but an awakening can can occur in the midst of chaos of a big city; it is what lies in the heart that counts!
  14. your favourite verse and Why?

My favourite verse is the first verse. The Dao that can be told is not the eternal Dao The name that can be named is not the eternal name The nameless is the Mother of Heaven and Earth The named is the manifestations of the Ten Thousand things Ever desireless one can feel ( heart) the mystery Ever desiring one can see its manifestations One appears as imperceptible, infinity upon infinity Here lies the path of all mystery. It is just so complete
  15. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

Neidan does not involve loads of rituals etc etc. True neidan involves quiet inward/outward looking, involves the cultivation of energy and of the self.
  16. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

Yes its difficult to let go of what one is and what one has become. I think you have the wrong idea about neidan by your description.
  17. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

I think it is very important to throw away ones ideas that the DDJ is only philosophy. We must remember that Li Erh was firstly a Dao cultivator. His understanding of Dao was from personal teachings and experience. So you may not recognise yourself, where in his teachings there are very much references to certain aspects that continue throughout the text, but with his personal teaching I do. The whole verses are about how one (self) perceives the world and the processes that are going on. Time and time again he says to cultivate the Dao through Dao Xin, through the spiritual path, to obtain spiritual power. Like in Xhuang Shi where he talks of the Holyman who uses his spiritual power to make sure the harvests are good and protects animals from sickness. These themes taught by Li Erh are eagerly told and expressed by Xhuang Shi. Li Erh may be succinct in his writings, but true understanding and perception comes form just a few words, which Xhuang Shi expands upon at length. One must remember to get rid of western Christian ideas when reading the DDJ; right/wrong etc. and look at the whole. Male and female are not opposites they are expressions of the Dao and the environment. This expression of the Dao allows many species to continue for an example.
  18. Lineages- old and new

Old or new traditions really have little effect on awakening and of course it depends on what one's definition of awakening is? It is wholly a pyscho, emotional and physical thing and true awakening can only be experienced in the presence of a true awakened master like an Immortal. For the Immortal will take you beyond normal perception in all senses, open the third eye and then carefully bring you back. Now bringing you back is the important bit for here lies the dangerous bit, where one cannot come back without being damaged. So this is why true enlightenment in a physical body needs the support of an already enlightened master. Would I personally trust any human to this task? No is the answer.
  19. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

It seems to me that what is lacking is the very thing that you are accusing us/me of being. Accusing me of being a Buddhist because I see the greatest obstacle to being 'realized' is the self. Your analysis of a Daoist is beyond recognition. Why? Because clearly you have never bothered to look at your self honestly and recognized what stops you from being a complete human being. Being able to be at one with the Dao in all its facets, knowing 'how to love the world as your own self', knowing how to surrender yourself humbly and only eat Brussell sprouts. Clearly to me you have a long way to go in your personal growth and knowing your self. Of course learning comes from being open to others, stripping away prejudice and cynicism and so begin to understand about the world and others and so understand something about yourself.
  20. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

The biggest shame is that you really express very little understanding and yet you spout as though you do and your analysis of the DDJ is so far off, one wonders where you are getting these opinions from? If you can't add anything constructive to the thread and are here just to be a complaining, rude and nonsensical troll, then go somewhere else, you are not adding anything to further understanding.
  21. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

Perhaps make your criticism constructive without cynicism? Only a suggestion, you find that you are taken more seriously.
  22. Five Important Themes of the DDJ

This was an excellent thread started by you and we really have not got through it at all, perhaps we can get it going again and if I can find the time, explore with you folks the various aspects; it produces some interesting stuff!
  23. your favourite verse and Why?

    Yes a great verse
  24. your favourite verse and Why?
