  1. RIP Boy Scouts

Very much the expected response from the "Trendy Left". The fact of the matter however is that I see no lessening of war and gnashing teeth in Left Wing Liberal dominated societies. What we do see is women going off to fight (equal opportunity) and enemies of every kind invited into our nations masquerading as refugees. Cultural Marxism simply invites the enemy to our gate rather than keeping him at arms length. But we are drifting away from the Boy Scouts or Scouts to give it it's more politically correct title and it is likely that all things that needed mention on the subject have been mentioned. One last word however on the "Silent Majority" those whom the Trendy Lefties enjoy disparaging the most. Extremists and other such idiots always have the most to say and are loudest in saying it. They therefor tend to make the news and are most visible in society. They are quick to anger and are always looking and listening for ways to be offended. The Silent majority on the other hand largely simply wish to be left alone to get on with their lives in peace. There is nothing innately wrong in this and they are undeserving of disparagement.
  2. RIP Boy Scouts

It is indeed a culture war which is being waged in almost the whole of the Western world, the exceptions being found in parts of Eastern Europe. The problem is a creeping Cultural Marxist sponsored, feminised, multicultural, equality driven nonsense. It all appears perfectly reasonable and fair at first glance but on closer inspection one see's it as a road to nowhere other than decline into moral turpitude. The "great silent majority" are very slowly making their voice heard (Brexit in the U.K. and Trump in the U.S.A.) but the status quo is still very much Left Wing Liberal, controlling as they do the establishment and almost all broadcast media. Hence any move to the right is met with vitriol by the establishment and their running dogs.
  3. RIP Boy Scouts

One point worthy of note is that the girls were not in fact barred from scouting as they had their own organisation - The Girl Guides. Co-Education is very much the mantra of the Liberal Left and I see this as very much a case of the breaking down of a male bastion. As to whether you view this as a good or a bad thing will depend very much on your sociopolitical viewpoint. It is also worthy of mention that that this is not an isolated incident but is very much the social norm in what is aften described as the feminisation (pussification) of the western world.
  4. Common history of yoga and qigong

The history is very much lost in the sands of time and my own view is that it is not so much a case of a "Common History" but of one evolving from the other. I do not doubt that Qigong evolved from yoga as Indian yoga adepts crossed the mountains into China passing on their knowledge. We also have the Bodhidharma teaching the sinew changing exercises to Shaolin monks. It is important to remember that although these practices may have originated in India the Chinese have placed their own stamp upon them and created their own systems and practices that though having common origins differ greatly.
  5. I am somewhat surprised to see that this thread is still going strong and can but put this down to the salacious nature of the subject matter. Whilst i previously promised Apech that I would comment no more, recent posts have spurred me on to leap once more into the fray. Sogyal Rinpoche cuts a rather sad and miserable figure who, in his role as buddhist adept, proved to have feet of clay. I can see the grounds for Wells argument as the women concerned were not coerced into sexual activity with the llama by fear or force but would appear to have been "willing" victims. My own view is that even though they may have been willing they were still very much victims. So we may call them weak, stupid and misguided as much as we like and state that they were as much at fault as Sogyal Rinpoche but the fact remains that he has acted inapproptiately at the very least. As has been pointed out the warning signs were there for all to see - the guru surrounded by nubile female devotees, but people see what they want to see and the girls in question saw a man they believed to be enlightened and who could lead them on the path. Unfortunately they were led down the garden path and it has all ended in tears. Buddhism may well lend itself to this sort of behaviour with its history of Tantric practice but other religions are hardly free from the scandal of authority figures acting in a sexually inapproprite manner. As to whether Sogyal, in his role as Buddhist adept, has done more harm than good in this incarnation? Well that can go before a higher court. We must also not lose sight of the other Buddhists who were assisting him with his teaching. By turning a blind eye they were arguably as much at fault as their master. It is all an unholy mess and serves as a reminder that those searching for enlightenment must first hold onto any common sense that they already possess.

  9. Tai Chi is but one aspect of Taoist Internal arts and this aspect is martial in nature. The Tai Chi form is two things. A means of retraining the body in correct stance, posture and movement. Secondly a series of possibilities in martial arts. Tai Chi Form would not be practiced for the generation of jing. Unfortunately Tai Chi is now rarely taught and practiced as a martial art but simply as a form of exercise. The principles are also rarely taught which is unfortunate as they are the magic ingredient which make things work and without them there is simply the waving about of ones hands. So to answer your question Jing would not be cultivated from a Tai Chi Chuan perspective but from associated practices of Neigong. Various schools of Tai Chi may use different practices but they would all have the same aim. This would be found in any complete system of Taoist Internal Arts. But it is a fortunate student who can find a teacher competent to educate them correctly, it is also a fortunate teacher who can find a student prepared to put in the time and energy to be so educated.
  10. You are too obsessed by far with the weird and wonderful Master Wells and resemble the Buddhist intellectuals you disparage. I fear that if you go much further along such paths you will be attempting to become a living mummy. My advice to you would be to find a decent teacher of neigong and start again from scratch and whilst you are at it adopt a modicum of humility. Please accept my apologies for returning to this thread. I had not intended doing so but I cannot leave such humbug unanswered.
  11. I will show respect to you, this being your thread, and make this my last uttering on the subject of physical immortality and Empty Force. I have made no claim to common sense or wisdom but have simply inferred that you possess neither. It should also be noted that unlike you i make no claim to genius. I have however suggested that there is no positive evidence to either prove or indeed disprove the possibility of physical immortality. I rest my case and wish you a gute nacht.
  12. Please Old Boy if you feel no embarrassment for yourself then give some thought to those who read your nonsense. Spiritual immortality may be a possibility but I have yet to see evidence of it as a fact. You obviously have faith in it as a fact but this does not amount to evidence in any way, shape or form. As regards Empty Force I would suggest that you do not begin travelling down that road as the destination is simply more unpleasantness of the kind we see so often on More Pie related threads. You should also refrain from describing those who disagree with you as "willfully ignorant." I am well aware that you are a scientifically proven genius, God knows you have told us enough times, but i must remind you once again that genius does not equate with common sense or wisdom. To sum up I will state that whilst I admire your faith in the existance of both physical immortality and Empty Force I doubt your credibility as a reliable sourse of knowledge on either subject.
  13. Internal cultivation will undoubtadly prolong vigour and increase longevity but i am far from convinced that immortality can be achieved. To discuss this is rather like the Kong Jing (Empty Force) debate - it is pleasant to think that such a thing may exist but the evidence is lacking or non existent.
