I have no such list I am afraid but let me say this. The very fact that this post exists is a step in the right direction to correct that which is obviously wrong. My interest was in the response of some other Taubums to the topic being raised at all. I feel that I have yapped enough on this unpleasant subject and so as to cause no more offence I will yap no more and leave further posts to wiser souls.

I have read the original post and yes, Twinner has opened a bag of worms. But I see no good reason that he should be vilified for so doing. It is obvious that a fire has been lit so let me throw some kindling on before retiring:- Child Abuse in Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries

This is a very interesting post as it is obvious that some of those replying have read the opening entry and put their own slant upon it. I for one did not consider the post to be an attack on Buddhism or indeed Buddhists and those who consider that it is may benefit from some introspection. Well done Twinner for starting this topic.

The Dalai Lama does not speak for all Buddhists. Buddhist Monks are just as frail, weak and human as Catholic Priests. Of course abuse takes place so lets not make the mistake of thinking that somehow Buddhists are above such behaviour. I am afraid that they are not. We should look at and face thing from where we are, the real world - the one what spins!

Elephant in the Room Another Elephant Yet Another I am somewhat surprised at the replies Twinner has suffered from posting this topic. Are Buddhist monks somehow less likely to commit these misdeeds than Catholic Priests? The Elephant is very difinitely in the room and to point it out is not an attack on Buddhism. If there is a problem then it should be admitted and dealt with.

I dont know if this is the longest introductory post ever but it must be a contender. Hello and welcome

Erle Montaigue died not that long ago but his organisation is still running. taijiworld He did indeed teach the Yang Lu-ch'an Old Tai Chi Form and put the whole thing down on a series of DVD's. This is purported to be the Yang Lu-ch'an form which is far more dynamic than the Yang Chen Fu toned down version which is the most commonly practiced Yang Form today. Unless you can find someone in your vicinity who is teaching this form I would advise you to not to bother attemting to teach yourself from DVD. Far better to find a good teacher of the Internal Arts who is local to you and can show you not only a form but the principles that make it all work. Good luck and best wishes

Looking at the Guru in the You Tube clip it must also make your whiskers grow

Whilst the standing practices in Paul Dongs book would work to increase the energy levels, I Have yet to see evidence of Empty Force being used to stop an opponent in their tracks, let alone bowl one over. Those who demonstrate this ability (there are quite a few on You Tube) invariably use their own students to show their supposed power. I would not go so far as to state that such abilities are impossible but a goodly dose of scepticism should be kept at hand.

What supplements and what manner of yoga?

Someone gave me a copy of this many years ago and I waded through it. I was completely underwhelmed and find the whole Falun Gong thing cultish. The Chinese Governments attempts to supress the movement has led many in the West to believe that the practice must be authentic. I have grave doubts.

Expressing anger/setting boundaries..feeling pride versus sucking it up showing love all the time
Chang replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
"Never give way to anger- otherwise in one day you could burn up the wood that you collected in many bitter weeks." Meng-Tse Anger is a loss of self control. Such a loss only makes it more difficult to deal with a given situation. -
Yes this is pretty much how it is, though it is true of some countries more than others. Whilst these people are only trying to make a living it can be a real pain and take much of the pleasure out of travel. By far the worse place I have visited for this is Egypt, although China, India and the far east in general are not far behind.

Many claims are made on this forum stating the worth of one system, method or teacher over another. How do we choose what is right, what is wrong. Good, bad, true or false. This may give us some ideas on the subject.

An interesting and informative post. I train with a young women who had a similar experience after her first reiki session. She had follow on, after shock, type experiences for a couple of weeks before it began to subside. Have you felt any further movements of energy since or has your energetic state returned to normal? I also wonder if you have previously practiced any form of meditation or undertook energy work of any kind.
