  1. European taxation rates

    interesting table: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax
  2. European taxation rates

Is it that high in NY? I know that property taxes can be pretty wild in some areas too. That is worse than Germany, as you get the health care, welfare, and education covered and plus I bet Germany has some sort of retirement system in place too. Plus the 2 months vacation and job stability. I'd prefer the American model, of course, but the northern european system has its perks. It just seems that it would dampen the spirit of capitalism. A friend of mine in Jamaica is a long-time owner of a small trucking company. He has 4 oil trucks. When the country had the bright idea to go socialist and tax happy, he simply fired his employees, parked his trucks, and went fishing for a few years until the economy collapsed as he figured it would. The day they lifted the taxes, he cleaned out his brake fluids and got back to work. That pretty much sums it up. I think the German model will fall as they realize that there's no motivation for the younger generation to participate.
  3. cool thread idea. primordial chikung 5 Tibetans intuflow are the ones that I use regularly. And these are still in the vault: the frolics 8 brocades Winn's sexual chikung standing postures/marrow washing progressions
  4. Foot massage/reflexology

I've become a foot aficionado over time... walking/running (barefoot when convenient), and breathing through the soles of your feet while standing are good. Massage before bed is good too. IMO, the less cushioning your shoes provide, the better... Pavel says that you become measurably stronger with less cushioning and more balanced and sensitive as well. Simple topsiders are good like that... the modern moc.
  5. The Tao Bums Name

    Wait, Allen Ginsberg is dead?
  6. I have seen a photograph of Geller that is of a very kind, loving guy. Based on that photograph, I'm a believer.
  7. I'm listening right now... he sounds and is much younger than I had imagined... possibly late fifties and sounds 40 something. That's pretty surprising. Some nuggets: Surrender in yoga means giving it your all. Most problems in yoga come with awakening the kundalini too soon by working on the crown chakra. If this is a problem try spinal breathing and get lots of exercise eat a heavier diet. Meditation gradually dissolves subtle obstructions. Sometimes this is hard to track. ~~~ Well that was kickin! If you are an AYP fan, do catch the reruns on the aypsite.com
  8. I wonder if the station will blow up like in the book?
  9. Vegetable gardening

let me know how the steiner thing goes. If that doesn't work and the organite doesnt save the day, then you gotta resort to the pesticides. Your climate is cooler, tho. maybe you can do it. we r in zone 7/8.
  10. OT2: Costs for Chiropractor

come to think of it, car seats do suck. they make 'the back machine' in chicago too for lumbar support. try that for the car trips and you might be able to skip all the therapies.
  11. OT2: Costs for Chiropractor

I have a friend who got rolfed in Chicago. I think it was expensive, but it was only 10 sessions total or something. I had a nice rolfing experience in Phoenix.
  12. I think I got some Orgon

I hope it's not detectable by geiger counter or I'm in trouble!! I doubt any instrumentation could detect anything. Maybe one could do a study on the health of rats or plants. I bet that would pick something up. But this kind of study isn't done and isn't read and isn't cited and isn't funded. That's why God created taobums.
  13. that nicely articulates my eventual experience with every chi practice I've tried!! I would say just reduce, periodize, crosstrain, etc. Not only crosstrain in chi practices but also other dimensions like straight up physical exercise, stretching, stillness type meditations, etc. This was a hard won lesson for me, so I hope it can be easier for others in the future. Another cool thing to keep in mind is to track how you feel on a moment to moment daily basis and not pay as much attention to the peaks and valleys of the practice itself as a guideline. -Yoda
  14. I think I got some Orgon

..., It's cool that you are so inspired! Can you feel anything off the TBs? I can't, so they don't make me that excited. My lemurian hhg feels great, though. The TBs are easy to carry in a pocket and chuck into a lake and all that. I was just googling lemurian crystals... maybe making TBs out of lemurians would set up a vibe I could feel. I've got some normal hhgs on order so it'll be interesting to compare those with my lemurian one. The lemurian one has a very loving presence. -Yoda
  15. "Zen Pagua"

I've tried it several times--sometimes it's pretty amazing and sometimes I don't feel anything. It's a new type of practice I hadn't considered before.
  16. EFT

I'm calling in a shroom strike on my coordinates!!! Imo, beliefs change slowly but can seem sudden like suddenly discovering that one is bald or something. Just my opinion, but the reason the boy was walking too close to a mean dog in the first place had something to do with a gradual shift in his belief structure about his neighbors, dogs, life, etc. But that's probably just me. I think seeing polarities of this world in their context of the Tao is the goal of spiritual practice. My guess is that shrooms or Deep Peat can help, but the normal person will still likely need to meditate.
  17. I think I got some Orgon

Oh, if Dennis is in Charleston then I'm probably not the first. I'll email him to find out.
  18. EFT

Freeform, Don't you think that big issues like "I'm worried about finances" "I want to be married" etc are such a huge constellations that it'll naturally take patience to turn things like that around? I'm thinking that the reason EFT may be felt as temporary would be that the session helped to quiet one aspect of the problem giving time for another aspect to surface, etc. And that once more territory is cleared, previously cleared issues may come up again for further healing? Esther Hicks talks about cleaning up one humble thought at a time and just let the big beliefs evolve slowly and naturally in turn. It's a valuable survival mechanism that beliefs change slowly. I think the essence of the work is to learn to interrupt and replace negative feelings with thoughts and feelings that feel slightly better and EFT type programs seem like they might be great ways to turbocharge this process. I didn't learn much from the Deep Peat website. What's the gist? -Yoda
  19. I think I got some Orgon

Karen, Not yet. My lemurian hhg took awhile, so I've got the dial set to 'patient'. This sucker might well be the first for Columbia, SC so it makes me feel like a proud citizen! Also, my backyard backs up to a creek and has some big trees so I think it'll have a good spot to do its thing. Thanks for asking! -Yoda
  20. I think I got some Orgon

those Ozark products are pretty. Keep us posted as to your experience with them.
  21. Robert Peng

I've heard Tijuana is a tourist attraction... nice fall colors or something. Take some photos for us!
  22. Shrooms

Spyrelx, Mrs Yoda agrees with you... anything that's still legal is more headache than high. -Yoda
  23. Shrooms

  24. RMAX powered IMA

I swear by his intuflow, but do not know more than that.
  25. Shrooms

no tv... cool side effect! Here's more info on Fly Agaric: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita_muscaria It says it's "unscheduled" does that mean legal? It sounds more legal than normal shrooms. If anyone is interested in fly agaric, keep in mind that the name, Amarita, and the look can be confused with extremely deadly mushrooms. According to the wiki article, fly agaric may be connected to the Santa Claus myth. Also, wiki says that fly agaric and the normal 'shrooms' are very different from each other both in terms of active ingredients and subjective experience. Fly agaric may have been the original 'soma' food of the gods.
