Question about Amanita Fungi... I'm assuming that if something is legal that it's about as efficacious as cough syrup (which is better than nothing, incidently). Any thoughts? If shrooms were legal, I'd do them in a second. That's the only thing that's holding me back. So if Amanita has it going on, and it's legal, then I'm in. Anyone tried them?

I remember one of Ron Jeremy's tenets of dream practice is strong intent. When I've kept a dream journal, that naturally helped me to remember and control my dreams. Now that I want to be a writer, I'm making it a habit to write before going to bed some thoughts, nice things about the day, a poem, etc. Then when I wake up, it's my goal to write a poem about any dreams that I may have had. I want to create a Saga-type poem for my adventures in the middle world with me as the megastud modern Viking conqueror of my half acre kingdom, etc. I don't think I'll be allowed the appropriate funeral pyre and sacrificial maidens at my death, but aside from obvious concessions to modernity, I'll try to stay as close to saga form as possible... he was burned in a cardboard box at the local mortuary, the one with really shitty architecture, but they say that he shook his fist as a sign of undying resolve... Actually, that's why I'll saga-ificate my middle world experience--it's more fun!! -Yoda

sell books on amazon... I'll second that.

Comrads, The Tao Bums has turned 2 years old!!! Thanks Sean!!! I'm excited by the new members over the last year, months, weeks, and even over the last few days!! I can't wait to see what new stuff we'll all cook up over the next year!! Our 'mastermind synchronicity' is growing! For the new members, The Tao Bums started this time of year when the Healing Tao USA forum went down temporarily. Not knowing if it would come back up, Sean fired up this forum. I'm not certain of the date, though. Fortunately the HT forum did come back up quickly and as an added bonus to the online Taoist community, Michael Winn then began to contribute to the HT forum and both forums have evolved very nicely since then. Sean hasn't been on the forum as much recently, so I'm taking the liberty to make this announcement. For me, the participants at The Tao Bums have been an indispensible source of information and have been pivotal in shaping and expanding many aspects of my life. So thank you to all new and old members for making this forum happen! -Yoda

10... Sounds fun! 9... What does Mrs Lerner think? 8... Mrs Yoda isn't into my checking into it until I retire, but I'll try to figure something out. 7... Coincidently, my father in law has my book about it. Great book, I'll get you a title, they recomend a free source of spore from Canada 6... I've heard it said that one good shroom experience is worth 40 years of meditation. 5... While that can't be true, there is a component of cosmic knowledge (per folks I've talked to) that can stick on your bones. 4... Will blast through any size writer's block 3... Personally, I'd never do acid. I've heard that shrooms are more user friendly. 2... I hope Mrs. Lerner didn't marry you right out of college!! 1... Have a nice flight! 0... Blast off!

know anything about this book? http://www.amazon.com/Reign-Quantity-Signs...TF8&s=books if it's true that Ramana Maharishi called the author 'the great sufi' I'd definitely check it out. Let me know if that's an authentic reference.

I've been reading up on Reich. It sounds like Reich in a nutshell is that people walk around encrusted in stuck emotional 'body armor' and that having some gut wrenching, tooth chipping orgasms can help on this score. Is this an accurate assessment of Reich? Is he right? Great love is connected with great O's and all that and everyone is pretty much on their own to develop greater love through meditation, nice karma, happy thoughts, etc. But on a strictly voltage level, all this reading got me to think about my standing experience (and sungazing experience too). Standing, I bet, is a lot like hanging out in Reich's orgone accumulator box... you pull in lots-o-chi from the environment which makes one horny which delivers intensified orgasms. After awhile, I thought that I was wasting my time with the above cycle as I was just loosing the energy I was building up so why not save time and not stand in the first place? It hadn't occured to me that the intensity of the 'standing orgasms' themselves might have value. I've got a book by a student of Reich that might shine more light on all of this: Emotional Armoring : An Introduction to Psychiatric Orgone Therapy Standing practice isn't on the horizon for me, just wondering. Thanks for any thoughts! -Yoda

Well, I've had a handful of heartgasms now that you mention it, but I'd totally dig some Livergasms!!! Thank you both for some great thoughts!

I'm overly stimulated by pretty much everything, so I'm leery of anything powered. I really can understand how this organite group has gone nuts. I'm saying that even as a believer in new agey conspiracy stuff too. Very cool about your plants. I'm sure your device works passively even when unplugged.
-
Check it out... I just ordered a cloud buster from Dennis! I'm stoked to see if I can feel anything from it. In any case, it'll look bitchin in my back yard. Freeform, I can't believe you cohabitate with a powered device... I doubt I'd want to be in the same room with something that powerful. My passive Lemurian HHG is good enough for my office. Do you turn it off to give yourself a break? I wonder how a passive cloud buster would compare to your powered ring.

Good question. It looks like Sean started the forum in testing form months before it went online in early November at some point. The healingtaousa.com forum got hacked or something, so Sean set it up and then as we realized the existence of the new forum we trickled in.... I don't know the exact date, but Happy Birthday Taobums! and thanks to our fearless webmaster for leading the charge (and getting me off the streets).

Darebak, That's what I've heard... that some of the insights can stay with you. I heard of a recent study done giving mushrooms to the terminally ill and there was a significant beneficial effect upon their "cosmic knowledge" and their "thoughts on death" to use the above language. Perhaps, that experience will influence their last mortal thoughts very favorably which makes the whole transition much easier and more uplifting to those around them. There's a website that'll send you free spore, but Mrs Yoda won't let me order any. I feel that I have enough cosmic knowledge to die peacefully at any time, but I'm still curious!! -Yoda

Plato, You can use my pad as an HQ if you want to scout the SE. I've got a pal in Athens, GA if you want to check out that scene too. The SE rocks! -Yoda

Cool post! I'd imagine that one's cosmic knowledge is more or less equivalent to the last thought one has on earth, so by this measurement he's saying that the next life is 1 part karma and 2 parts knowledge which is essentially an ad to do psychedelic mushrooms in lieu of all this meditation. One chap says that modest mushroom experience = 40 years of meditation. I think old people should put down their bibles and start visiting cow pastures! I've never done mushrooms b4, just going by second hand info.

What's a Nevada corporation? ~~~ Not kidding: I honestly felt that the world as we know it was going to end by 1995 so I just lived for a few years on my cards (I lived very cheap). Sadly though, the world did not end and I had 25k to pay back! The humor of the situation made it entertaining to pay back. As Esther says, it's nice to make a game of it. ~~~ I got an astrology email that says not to monkey with technical shit or buy electronics, etc until the end of November as there's lots of gremlins out there, but that we'd be really drawn to do so. While I fully intend to ignore this advice, I have to admit that I'm drawn to messing with infrastructure right now and it is glitchy too!! But I also realize that a smooth flowing infrastructure, like keeping better tax records, backing up the computer, etc are habits I need to improve so that my money vibe can flow more smoothly. ~~~ My fiscal advice: get the fuck out of San Fransisco!!! Life is cheap in Columbia, SC and you can be my neighbor. Median house price $140,000. Not a misprint. No traffic jambs, etc. You'll lose the breath taking beauty of the Pacific so take some photos before you leave. My cousin just evacuated from the bay area to Gainsville, FL median price $220,000+/- for your basic house but that's still worlds better from where she left and doesn't have to fight the traffic either. I have no idea how you folks survive in the big city, but here in the sticks, we can work part time. Right now, the rest of the world is discovering us. We are starting to see new construction neighborhoods that are a full 30% from the NYC and 30% from Florida, so our below market pricing won't last forever. -Yoda

I've been in Cam's store and I saw him chew out an employee and his pupils went vertical for a moment. I didn't think anything of it until I saw the footage on the video where Cheney's secret service guy's pupil went vertical too... The narrator said that vertical pupils isn't a good sign. Kinda freaks me out that the lizards have decided to infiltrate taobums.

Just checked it out--it was lots of fun. Cooked food had reinvaded my lunch so it has inspired me to push cooked food back to dinner only. Damn she's so touchy though--can't drink tap water or anything. Hopefully I won't get like that. Then again, I don't have plans of ever going 100% unless I find myself single again and needing a nice pickup line.

cool link, thanks!

I don't think anyone *needs* a teacher, I think that lineage blessings drop in your lap from the Tao. I do agree that learning any practice from a traditional text is problematic. Either find a teacher, find a dvd, or find a book by a modern teacher in that order. Yogani's point is that stillness meditation practice is a deeper and more important practice than energy circulation practices and is needed to establish oneself in tranquility. Meditation leads to insight and grounding in the Tao and energy cultivation establishes higher energy levels and superior energy flowing, better heath and athleticism, etc. Yogani says that modern taoist practices would be better named "chi-ism" than "taoism" as the focus seems to be exclusively on energy cultivation and not insight (to use Buddhist terminology). Yogani also recommends running the mco through the middle of the head and not the top of the head so as not to prematurely open the crown chakra to minimize the side effects of energy practices. I think neither mco nor meditation are essential to living a happy, complete life. But I, for one, need both.

I was just rereading it myself. I was trying to remember if it gave any details on how to construct the cloth/wood thingy to sit on. It didn't. I'm playing with the prostatecradle.com thingy right now. I'm a follower of the AYP recommendation to make meditation first priority and energy circulation like mco a secondary objective no matter one's level of attainment. Cool to see an old RJ post. I hope he's doing well. There's an example of a guy who mastered energy circulation w/o meditation. That's a rare thing though. The rest of us just blow a gasket and quit the energy practice in question. Probably better off doing the latter.

Just checked it out! Whether or not Cheney is a space lizard is a fun question to ponder! Regardless of one's call on this matter, I think it's helpful to one's tranquility to keep in mind that external influences whether exotic or mundane all play by the law of karma, attraction, synchronicity, etc... that ultimately the individual is sovereign and victimization is impossible. Jmo, of course.

Is Esther Hicks in this version?

thanks for the link!!

Great vid!! Thanks for posting! I don't think that you have to be full raw either. Dr McDougall says that he has great success reversing many typical American maladies with a low fat vegan diet. No need for raw heroics according to him.

Well there are real skeletons on the market but they are so durn short! I guess I'll just have to put them in stilettos or something. I'll figure it out. I always do.
