I meditated and prostrated, etc for 20+ years and am still 100% selfish. I then selfishly decided that selflessness is bullshit. I still believe in love and bliss, though. Those are in my self interest to cultivate. Why is the clam so happy? Because he's shellfish.

Cloud, If spinal breathing gives you a headache, Yogani suggests stripper pee. St. John of the Cross missed out on that trick!! This is important though... there's got to be a workaround here somewhere. If it's too much oxygen, the cure might be to pause a bit on the exhale. If it's on an energy level, maybe do spinal breathing to the heart with just some breaths to the forehead. Maybe try stretching before spinal breathing. Maybe post a question on the ayp forum or e-mail Yogani. Worse case scenario, you are very sensitive to the practice which Yogani says is ultimately a very good sign but you just have to go very slowly with it. -Yoda

Here's a cool link, check out John DuCane's recent blog between kettlebells and qigong training: http://www.dragondoor.com/qigong/news/ between the link between strength training and chi kung. I'm of the opinion that some sort of boring cardio is super important to make strength training complete and well-rounded. If I don't get the cardio, my inner strength lessens which offsets much of the gains of strength training in terms of raw, animal energy. John's entry makes a good point, but I'm not convinced that the benefits of chikung that he refers to can't be obtained by some basic cardio type training. I'll be interested in his next article. -Yoda

So I googled David Shen last night and didn't find much aside from a chat between Trunk and Winn on the subject matter from the HT board. But in the process, I discovered the practice of peepee snarfing! I tried it and not only did it open the sinuses to an extra degree, but it seemed to help clean the subtle channels in the head in a gentle way. I wonder what everyone else thinks? Here's a cool amaroli overview article: http://www.hps-online.com/hurine1.htm -Y

Harry is pissing on my parade! Well articulated! I'd imagine that tasting a few drops is better than sniffing. It's easier to taste the minerals than sniff them, for one thing. I think there may be toxins in the pee, so I personally approach the practice like homeopathy... just a small swig for the information and energy redistribution. There are subtle energies that you get only by drinking. But first things first, you gotta honor the mental side of the practice and if it doesn't feel like a good idea stay the bleep away from it. That goes for any practice, of course. Also, I wouldn't say that amaroli is a big deal. It's insignificant, but the fact that it takes zero time to do, can be done daily, and that subtle influences can add up in the long run, it's worth at least knowing about. I like it b/c it's freaky for one thing and also I am preparing to test pilot the extreme and unnatural 100% raw vegan diet at some point, so the dietary feedback information re: toxins, minerals, electrolytes, salts, sugars, etc will be useful. Also, one gets better at doing amaroli over time-- I'm finding that I'm getting much more information about my diet and energy systems now than I did when I started. Regarding stripper pee... I think that there can be some good subtle body alignment going on with it if you can get over the grodiness. Just a guess, though. I have no idea. I'd totally do it if I were drunk. When in Rome... right Pietro? -Yoda

Spyrelx, Plato and Winn recommend a healer in NYC... he can't move you around, but per Plato and Winn, he has the ability to heal by a very powerful energy flow. I think he charges around $100 for a session. If I lived in NYC, I'd definitely check him out. E-mail Winn or pm Sheepishlord if you are interested. Nice to have you check in again! -Yoda

In the Lam Kam Chuen books, he talks about the standing postures in terms of sacred geometry as a way to gather energy from heaven and earth like radio telescopes and to transmit and focus the energy. Buckminster Fuller (sp?) etc. Not too much discussion, though. He did write a Feng Shui book, but I don't recall if that covered geometry much. Then there's the pythagorian mysticism stuff. I don't know much about it, aside from the fact that it exists. Something to do with harmonics.

Killer thread, thanks all! Triple Dot, very cool tatoo!

I like to think that nice things like squirtology is what the Catholic Church was really trying to articulate all this time. The priest flicking holy water over the congregation is symbolic of that. Possibly. In the Secrets of Wilder you get the sense of what it could be like for a brilliant do-it-yourselfer reinventing the process and the real likelihood of overdoing it. It could really suck. Yogani did say in a recent post, "in my long and not always happy journey through life..." I got the vibe there that he got stuck in the mud a bit back in the day. It seems to me that with enough wisdom, life can't really be tragic anymore no matter what happens.

St John of the Cross came out of a very dark time and it took more of a quantum leap to let go of shit back then, imo. Nobody had full body squirters back then, he didn't have access to sensible methods, nice blenders, etc, etc, he was a total freak blasting his way through rock and steel with just raw desire as his explosives. Very few made the trip and the few that did had to be half psycho in the first place.

Taobums don't beat around the bush!

I think there's very few one lineage folks around anymore. I've been doing primordial chikung a bit these days and it's a practice that has a strong sense of lineage and has got me contemplating the subject. I've never been able to sustain this as a regular practice, but I definitely get the sense that taichi loving spirits are practicing it with me. My primary lineages would be Yogani (who's lineage is Yogananda et al but he got iam from somewhere else) Esther Hicks (???) and Teacher Chiang (Kagyu Buddhism). Both Winn and Yogani have said some creative things about lineage. Winn says that you can hack into any lineage energy you want to and Yogani said that lineage empowerment is all around us in every nook and cranny of the universe and that you'll naturally call upon and receive it as needed. I like that way of thinking. -Yoda

I just got a crystal wand on doctorg.com and Mrs Yoda had a great, full body and spine orgasm without even reading the instructions!

Trunk, I'd disagree that it's like starting over. It's like moving away from your family that you grew up with, but rarely see or talk to anymore... their empowerment and lineage will be with you in your every thought. Even if there are aspects of the lineage that you don't care for anymore, that's just part of the learning process. I think with the modern ethos, internet, etc that this is the time of stirring the cauldron and a real honor to be the first generation of this experiment. Maybe 'hacked' is a poor choice of words... I think that if one really feels an affection, admiration, curiousity, etc about a lineage one is ineluctably drawn to it on an energy level and can participate in it just by looking at a photograph, etc. -Yoda

It has a tremendous amount of potential, but it needs very regular practice. It can be awkward in dual cultivation b/c you have to make the sound... the beginning of the sound sounds like a foghorn. I never got the hang of it in dual, but did in solo, but I had to practice the technique 3x a week so it would work. When I stopped practicing, I lost my ability. Essentially, it's the heart sound, "haaaaaw" which is modulated from a very low pitch to a high one to a relaxed medium one and it takes the energy to the heart. Maybe if you search "keysound" in the taobums search function, that'll get you more info.

In this post modern age, it's hard to really gross out the hip crowd, but lobbing out pee drinking in conversation is a very dependable line of attack. Keep up the good work!

I got it, too. I never really got into it, but it's cool to see these really old men be as flexible as little kids.

M- I used to own a volume or two of Hassidic Rabbi stories edited by Buber, I believe. D- lineage of friendship is a very nice concept.

Damn... walked into this party after it's over!! Thanks to Sean for sharing and I'd love to see him post regularly. I'll google for more about David Shen. Isn't that the guy Winn says is an amazingly gifted practitioner and who has channelled a lot of his info? Somehow I seem to remember Winn and David not getting along for some reason. Winn didn't like the dude David was channelling or something. After my sungazing experiment crashed and burned, I'm hesitant to get back to high energy practices that I assume Sean is referring to. I definitely believe in all the special effects, though. -Yoda

ayp is killer for the long run, but for today check out theanine, chamomile tea, etc and take a long walk.

Stuffy/running Nose, Allergies/cold-like Nose Help?
Yoda replied to GrandTrinity's topic in General Discussion
that neti angle is good, I just do it with tap water and snort it out of my hand. It is painful but the osmotic pressure is such that it purges the sinuses nicely. If you have more time, mix up a bit of salt so it tastes like your sinuses and snort that. Not painful. Try chopping up a raw clove of garlic and swig it down--that'll might help too. Just don't mix with pop rocks and Pepsi... -
Karen, Maybe I'll put them under the crawlspace, then they can do double duty as positive vibration transmitters/insect killers. I'm glad the curing will stop and I can bring them inside again after a bit. -Yoda

my towerbusters did just come... they weren't actually late or anything. They are stinky though! Mrs Yoda doesn't like them and wonders what they are, but the whole new agey thing doesn't fly with her, so I told her that it was top secret and that I'll put them in zip locks. (I tried to hide them from her, but she found them within minutes.) Talking about causing cancer... these things definitely smell like funky industrial sludge and may well put fluoride to shame as a halfway decent carcinogen.
-
dentie sounds fun! My teeth are diggin having fluoride back in the picture. I'll just use the mouthwash with flouride in lieu of the glycerin containing toothpaste and see how it works. I reckon in 4 weeks I'll be able to crunch through an uncooked canine femur no problemo. (you never know...) I noticed on the shelves that they are selling "remineralizing mouthwash" to strengthen your teeth. No calcium or other usual minerals were mentioned in the active or other ingredients, just flouride as the active ingredient. I'm assigning my semi-raw, vegan diet the job of detoxing any flouride toxicity. ~~ speaking of toxicity... I wonder where my towerbusters went that I ordered last week?

the quiz is quite outdated for folks like us who aren't classically religious, but still a fun drill. Looks like I'm the number 1 Satanist around these here parts! My brother scored 100% Satanist followed by atheism then agnosticism so maybe it runs in the family. I'm sure Daddy Yoda would score like my brother. Really, though there are no questions about any devil, etc so I'm thinking that satanism=selfishness in this quiz. Which is also totally behind the times.
